Thank you for all of your advice Juan. Good to see you teaching the lad as well. Cheers from Canada.

Thank you Juan. I have a 2007 xt225 and I'm always interested in learning self maintenance. Looking forward to your videos and much appreciation.

Awesome for teaching the little helper. Memories like that go a long ways. 😀

A great time to install a battery tender pigtail that can also double as a heated jacket liner plug

You cant beat the original Yuasa battery. Mine was made July 2004 and still going strong in 2020. I do use a Yuasa smart shot 900ma tender at least once a month in the off season. Well worth the price to go Yuasa.

      Mine still works as well!

@@jimkuz3547 I know folks that replace motorcycle batteries every couple years. A good battery and tender is always worth the price.

Have you tried the Battery Tender Lithium battery BTL09A120C? Weighs 1 lb. has plenty of cranking amps. Can be had for around $75. Works for the Serow and the DRZ400s!

Does the battery have enough power to run heated grips? Don't know but I thought my 2007 was. 6 volt Battery? - I will have to check. Down the road would love to see: wheel removal, tire change, chain adjustment. Thank you.

It's the stator output that we need to find out about to run heated grips...I'm not sure yet...stay tuned...12V (you had me worried for a sec ;-)

Great video, thank you!!! I slapped my new battery in, charged it up overnight (was dead from the store of course) & then go to fire it up. It's cranking hard, but just won't turnover (before i changed the battery it started OK, but im confident in the install). Any suggestions anyone? Thanks a bunch in advance!

A good bike for packing along on the bumper of a RV.

I have this bike, it is a terrible bike, very low quality, with many problems. I should have bought a Kawasaki Sherpa.

I have this bike, and I can say with certainty that you have NO IDEA what you're talking about.
Weight/per ratio, maintenance schedule, seat height, seat quality, caring capacity, 6 gears... EXCELLENT bike for beginners, smaller people, Moto campers, and budget riders. There are hundreds of videos of pro riders googling like hyenas in surprise at what this little chugger can do.

I've had mine since 2004. It's the one bike I will never sell.

You couldn't be more wrong. I've had mine since 2005 and have not had to replace one thing! Just needs basic maintenance and has taken both many a beating and months of sitting. It is probably the most reliable and trustworthy thing in my 50 years of life! LOL

Get real gentleman, this bike has drum break in the back, it is carbureted, it has a very narrow seat, the tires have tubes, and if it sits for a few weeks, the carburetor gets clogged up.
May be your standards are too low.

Never can start this bike first attempt .. changed the ignition to electronic still problematic.. stator issues are widely known
