- Recently I was part of a swap that I was co hosting called the Golden Egg Harry Potter Easter Swap. I want to make it clear that what I am about to talk about are my words, opinions, experience and story. Anyone who was part of this swap has no affiliation and/or influence on this video. I am not trying to cancel anyone nor am I trying to tarnish anyone’s “brand” but I am sharing this so that this doesn’t happen again. This video is about why I feel I may have been scammed by Victoria Maclean.

If she could leave her house to go to an event,she could have dropped off the box at the post office before she got to the event or she could have had one of her friends or family do her a favor and send it out at the post office for her. Where there’s a will…there’s a way. Sounds like she couldn’t care less. Thank you for sharing the messages and it looks clear that she was completely dodging sending out the package. This proves that she’s not as innocent as she claims she is. None of this would be going on if she just honored her obligation.
She's a known bully and overall horrible person. Her brand is blocking everyone who makes even the tiniest criticism, then sending her minions over to harass.
She's scammed alot of people tbh, there's sooo many people with horrible story's about this woman, I've heard at least 8 different people who have said how awful and sly she is, what a shame she's allowed to do this within the potter world

I have to assume that as a part of the swap that she received a box too. Hearing that she's playing the victim makes me sick. She's not a victim, she's a thief. Your kindness and humility is amazing in the way you've handled this, but I can't help to not hold back. People that take advantage of others because they think they're special and can get away with it are the dirt floor of society. I'm truly sorry this happened my friend.

This is absolutely shocking, if she couldn’t do it, she should have returned her box. Not opened it and kept all that free stuff! I’ve been a Victoria subscriber for ages but I’ve just unsubscribed.
Sadly, me too. I don't watch her videos with sound because her shrill voice sets off my misophonia (sound sensitivity) but I would read subtitles. I just unsubscribed. I can't support anyone in the community who clearly neglected her responsibility to an agreement. She could have at least chosen things from her own collection of swag even if it didn't meet the rules...or even a gift card to wizard world store. So disappointed that she was so disingenuous.
I’m so sorry you’ve experienced this, it was really unfair on you. ♥️ I personally cut this woman off years ago after inviting her into my own home (!!) to take her under my wing as a smaller creator to help her out, and then I was anonymously sent some really nasty screenshots of what she was saying about me and the Harry Potter community - without going into detail, it was horrible. 🥲

You all need to get your facts straight, Victoria posted why she couldn't do the Easter box because of her health,she is in the middle of doing a box,give her the decency and let her finish it,like she said her health comes first,can't wait,go to another utuber and don't be so rude.

@@judis6224 regardless of my age, any normal person who has at least a few brain cells can see that Victoria was pushing this along with no intention of actually sending anything (and then sent something as damage control). Yes maybe she hurt her back, but not being able to create something handmade whilst still being able to go to London & the studio tour bouncing around, she is a compulsive liar.
She could have easily scrapped the “handmade” part and sent something of her collection. There’s no way of protecting her from this. She has to own up to her mistake & apologise.
This was a scam, and you hit it on the head when you said she signed up just to get free stuff and had no intention of following through with the commitments she made. I've heard horror stories about her over and over

People I know have been on the receiving end of her vile personality and been bullied by her. I'm so happy Christian has spoken out about his experience and I hope others now have the courage to do the same.
At the end of the day she signed up for it. It’s not the hosts job to replace things that people cannot commit to. There was even a time where someone dropped out and Melissa asked if anyone else needed to, she could have at that point but chose not to. It’s not okay at all. I saw the comment from her friend about things that could have been a birthday gift and to me why would she not said my friends got me this like she has in other post when things are sent to her. The right thing for her to do is send something even if it fully didn’t hit the requirements she could have sent something at least, it’s truly unfair for people to act this way and it makes having swaps very stressful, don’t sing up if you can’t afford to do something, people respect it way more because hosting a swap and dealing with stuff like this is not easy what so ever. I’m truly sorry this happened!
Im not believing the cant afford it. In the last 12 months she has been to new york, scotland twice, italy and london at least 3 or 4 times. Recieves patreon subscriptions and grts paid to attend these meet and greets. If she can afford that i find it hard to believe she cant afford 75 dollars
So sad that this all happened, but seeing everyone bound together to support you and reading stories from everyone who has commented is just shocking and eye opening. Karma sometimes takes her time but she always arrives xx
Thank you Christian for talking about this. I have had smaller channels tell me that they would love to participate in box swaps but they don’t because of issues like this occurring. I’m sorry you experienced this.

You're not alone. I've had issues with her as well. Not someone trustworthy or even that knowledgeable about HP stuff either. She is so full of herself and is just wrong about so many things all the time. She gets free stuff from people all the time yet just turns around and sells it. There's nothing special or great about any of her DIY stuff either. Her eBay seller history & feedback is quite poor as well. It's best to just never associate with that mess.

Its sad that there are toxic people ruining the Potter community. People lose their humility. Influencers are not celebrities and begging feeebies doesnt look good. I took a step back from quite a few Influencers. It really upsets me as a disabled person when people make up illnesses and mental health problems. These big Influencers have plenty of money to buy massive hauls and sell on the free gifts they are given from companies. It makes me so sad to see this happens in the community. Its why i dont bother with CZcams anymore.

I participated in last Christmas box swap for Yule and had a wonderful time. Everyone knows the expectations and guidelines. You spoke well, and I’m sorry you experienced this, and to all else who have experienced similar from her.
I’ve been a subscriber and viewer of Victoria’s channel for a couple years now & when I watched her Unboxing of the Box Swap I was really confused by it because she said she couldn’t do the swap due to her back complications but it didn’t come across like she was all that sorry at all? Like she very quickly brushed over it like it didn’t mean much which I found odd. I then watched everyone else’s videos of the Swap and could slightly see the frustration from you that you hadn’t received your box yet & I thought it was SO DAMN kind of your friend Mel to send out another box for you, to compensate!! (Which of course she didn’t have to do but that’s a true friend!!). I kinda felt that there had to be more to it! Like Victoria gave off weird vibes like she had no intention to send out a box but was so happy to receive one herself?? If she couldn’t make it happen she should have pulled out. Simple. I’ve watched many box swaps in my time on CZcams and never had I seen a CZcamsr not send a box but so happily open one they had been sent and not be super apologetic or express when they will send theirs out/how they would resolve it yano?? She didn’t seem to fussed by it which came across to me in her video. I’ve been a viewer of her for a while so it was a bit confusing & left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth!
Also, I understand that money is tight & some people can’t afford to create these expensive box swaps but she always had the option to opt out. Plus I know she said she wanted to make DIY things for her box but couldn’t because of her back and stuff so, surely when you realise you can’t do that, the way you wanted then wouldn’t you just think “well I best just buy some cool things instead” so it’s less stressful for her? She could have asked her friends or family to help with it - I’m sure they wouldn’t have minded! And she also gets sent A LOT of HP stuff, and is always selling some of her collection / things she doesn’t want/need or have the room for, I’m SURE she could have found some items she already has or has been sent that aren’t quite her cup of tea but are still cool & HP that someone else would love, like!! Idk!! It seemed so clear to me that there was very little thought or attempts to even TRY. 🥴🥴

Yeah even if she didn't have any extra/unwanted new HP items that fit the theme, she could've sent extra to make up for that. Like okay I am ill, probably not so true, and broke, not so true if she's shopping, but I do have a lot of items here so I am sending you an HP box if not an HP easter box, but it's better than making you wait aand delaying this thing, so rather than the 75 dollar mark agreed upon, i am sending 150, cause you know she had that much stuff sitting around.Point is if you can't do the theme, sending extra is fair and makes iup for it and is far, far, better than not sending anything. Happy Easter? Not. Sad when people are successful and still are small enough to scamm smaller folk as it were. But shows you who the so called good guys are. Ha.

That really sucks that she did that to you. If she knew she wouldn't be able to fulfill the obligation she should've said something to Melissa and dropped out right away. Not leave you hanging like that. Health comes first I agree but she kept her other obligations and bought stuff when she said she didn't have money. Sorry that happened to you.

She’s a horrible person, I got constant abuse of her, she would type in capitals😂 she would also demand people to unfollow other HP collectors, I also remember when she created fake accounts to slander every HP accounts, avoid her at all costs! Stay safe wizards xx

Sorry this happened but you know I have dealt with this alot. If she had no money your right how does she afford other things. If she didn't send then she should have returned her box to who was running swap to use as a replacement or giveaway. She should not get a box if not sending one. Within a week of not sending she could have had the person filming to return the other box ..sadly not everyone feels commitments are important

@@monprice98 anyone who has been in the fandom over the last few years will more than like seen it or heard of it, especially those who used to know her really well. I personally know other influencers who are friends she has been a complete B@@ch too and tried to bully. Maybe you have not been privy to that? It is also not my place to name others, that is down to them to come forward. Plus with the VA coming after them on all their Social Medias it was a nightmare. However, there is evidence and maybe now that they are not alone it will come out in others coming forward!

Yeah this was just her wanting free stuff. She could've been injured and therefore it's understandable that things need to be postponed but that does not cancel out the obligations that were agreed upon beforehand. As awesome as it was of Mel to send you a box this also makes it unfair to her since she had to send two boxes with money out of her own pocket to compensate for Victoria's box. I've seen this too often in swaps before where people make excuses not to send or say that the rules weren't something they agreed to and that person simply gets banned from all future swaps. Good for you for speaking out and making others aware of this for any future swaps she may be in. Maybe we need to start doing background checks on people lol. Dont let any hate comments get to you Christian. You're an honest and ethical guy and we respect you for it

Hi. I’m so sorry this happened to you. I think you have handled this in a very mature manner and good for you for speaking out. We all have struggles in life but people are too quick to play the victim when it’s convenient to them and it’s not fair on you. You were more than accommodating and understanding. Sadly I think you were scammed. So great to see the Harry Potter community supporting you as the receipts don’t lie. Two of three years ago she did a GoFund thing to do on site location filming. Tons of people donated and she never did it. When called out she always plays the victim. Thank you for keeping to the facts and not diving into emotions. This makes you believable. I've followed her channel for years, I have never seen your videos. However, if I had to choose who I believe it would be you based on everything I've seen of her at her channel. I stopped watching bcs of things I found not okay and I didn't want to endorse that channel (but I never said anything of course). I believe her self awareness is not the best, however, that is not a crime and if it doesn't hurt anyone, live and let live. But this seems to lead her to behave in an unexceptable way to some people, and THAT is not ok. It's obvious that you're not trying to start a war, which I respect. And I agree, just because someone else stepped in and sent you a box doesn't let her off the hook. She has said many times that there is no way she can keep everything she gets, so you could have gotten some of that. Lumos!

I used to run her "Harry Potter UK" page along with her and another woman.
She is actually evil. The things she said in our private message group would absolutely shock you. She is a classic narcissist and has no emotional intelligence whatsoever - she doesn't care who she hurts or treats badly, as long as she gets her own way.
There are SO many people out there who have similar stories about her. She's very well known for the way she treats others and it still astounds me how many people cannot ass straight through her.

It's not just her though, her right hand is janice and she's been fighting her battles for years, those two together have bullied so many people and I'm so glad it's all coming out

Good on you Christian. So many people, including kids, looked up to this person for many years but she is fake, greedy, deluded and completely full of her own importance (whatever that is!). You told everybody the truth and quite rightly so, it's not nice to be scammed and nobody should get away with it. Also the fact the person you talk about in the video has done so many other nasty things to so many people, it's not right and gives a bad name to Harry Potter fans who are not like that, most of us are just wanting to enjoy the experience of Harry Potter and all that goes with the magic of it, not be duped and lied to.

I have only watched a couple of her videos but have always felt that she just likes to get free items.
I understand having problems walking (having had 2 knee operations) but she has a whole family around her that could have helped put the box together.

Folks, let me be blunt with you here as a person not in the HP fan community with no ties to anyone in this discussion...this was 100% a scam. Person agreed. Got the information several times over. Couldn't follow through on their end, so reasonable accommodations were offered time and again to remedy the situation. Very little was actually asked of her and the guidelines were clear when she signed up, but excuse after excuse was given. Like whomever you want and subscribe to every channel, but don't pretend this wasn't hardcore a scam!
Just remembered this because she made a post yesterday that basically accuses you of pushing her towards s*icide last year. I think that’s an incredibly serious accusation to make. I was speechless. Looks like she really can’t let it rest.

I think that she has a lot of nerve to say that because you received a box from Mel (out of the goodness of her amazing heart) DOES NOT release her of her obligation ESPECIALLY since she received a box! And, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't she receive her box before she started talking about DIY items and her putting "her heart into everything" so she knew what should go into the box! *smh*

I follow a few influences and victoria is 1.
As i watch a few regularly I'm happy to say I enjoy watching them but not really influenced by them.
Your story has come across as very mature and shown you have acted reasonably and sensibly throughout.
I've only looked for you now because I've just watched Victoria's apology to you and all concerned. I had no idea this was going on behind the scenes.
You took every step I would've taken. And you showed courage in standing up for yourself in a way you can feel proud of.
Your video evidence of Victoria is quite damning against her but I thank you for sharing.
From an outsiders perspective (just my opinion where I'm happy that I know nothing more of the particulars ) it sound's like Victoria just let things get out of hand and wasn't concerned about her loss of control.
I imagine you youtubers get trolled regular. Huge amounts of followers make you easy targets. So I can see paranoia clearly also played a part on her side.

A couple years ago, Victoria was having a opening of the history boxes for Harry Potter on channel. She ended up with several duplicates and was looking for a trade. I offered to trade with her. I sent mine but never received mine. Her response was I’m so sorry it must’ve been lost in the mail, and that she would look into it and I never heard another word from her. So I hear where you’re coming from and don’t blame if you’re being upset.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I look forward to these events so much. I gave up on Victoria about a year ago when she became "Lady - of Wizarding World" and became nothing more than a big advertisement. I wish her well and I hope she finds her way back home to this amazing HP community.
Lady is a novelty and shes taking it seriously. And wizarding world she is not an ambassador of. She loves to say she is of everyone

I am sorry you have been scammed. I used to like her but she became imo big headed and bragged about all the companies she was working with. I unsubscribed to her after that. Assuming what she has said about her back and money issues are true, she could have paid you back in cash instalments at least to try something. To go on spending sprees and meet ups doesn’t give a good impression 🙁

Well at the very least it shows her lack of respect for smaller channels, as if she feels she's doing you a favor to participate. However if she felt thusly, she literally shouldn't have bothered. She thinks she's all that, ego complex and undeserved. I can't get through a vid, she's too happy, so this is kind of gratifying for me tbh, but I am so sorry you were screwed over, it never feels good.

Hey thank you!! I believe I got them from Mainstay over at Walmart but years ago. They hold up well but if you are like me who likes to rearrange and move the shelves around, I wouldn’t recommend them honestly. They were fairly cheap which is why I bought them at the time.

I thought it was lovely of Mel to send you both a box but I do believe Victoria probably should not have opened it on her channel as she did not participate properly in the swap. Hi. It doesn't appear to be a misunderstanding. It's very clear what was expected of the people taking part in a box swap.
She stated in a message to the group chat that her box was ready to go, then she says she can't send it because of injury...but then she's posted video of herself a couple of days later.
Christian reached out to her and she still didn't follow through on what she needed to do.
VM has been vile to people I care about and I have seen first hand the awful things she has done.
She's not injured nor in any way shape of form ill she's just a ''woman'' who got popularity due to her getting in the Guiness Book of records for collecting HP things.She claims she is dislexic,her back injured,and autistic but she just craves attention...she's claimed working for WB for a while and stopped showing anything that was not officialy licensed on her channel....she has a regular job yet still claims to be a HP CZcamsr when she only posts once a week if even that.She posted a really Lame video about her 'Menthal Health' and having had ''suicidal thoughts'' In my personal opinion those who publicly say ''I've got suicidal thoughts'' are just whinning for attention and would never actually go trough with those ''thoughts'' she's just a 'person' who got popular sudenly and it got to her head and she thinks she can do or say whatever she wants.

If I just think outside the box for a moment here perhaps creating this Easter swap box had to be specifically made by the individuals involved in this event such as Victoria herself. and couldn't be handed to any other recipient due to breach of these rules. so when it was suggested that Natalie or Monica could take the reigns on Victoria's box swap perhaps that wasn't allowed. People have come out and said she's not sorry just sorry she got caught I still don't wanna believe these rumours of Victoria trying to sabotage these other Harry potter collector channels why are people saying these things??????
Victoria messaged the group to say that she had finished the box, then she said that her back had gone and she couldn't post it. Then she said that she only needed to make hand made items (she didn't, it was very clear to all involved that there was a spend limit of $75.
There is no need to think outside the box. Victoria is in the wrong and Christian has the evidence to back up what he is saying.
She had until the 15th to post it this supposedly was the day her back went, well she should have the box ready to be posted by that day anyway. Nope. She had 2 months to get it ready and she didnt. She also had multiple excuses for christian. She also took all the libks to the other creators off her video and tgen put free at the bottom. To make it appear free. She never had any intention of forfiling her obligations. This woman on camera is not the same woman when the doors are closed. Sorry to tell you but shes a narcassist, liar, and a bully. Immeadiately after that fake apology i heard she went on the attack again verbally. Anyone can support whomever they wish and we dont hold that against anyone. Just be informed of the truth, stay informed, stay cautious. We all know ever in the street some people are not whom they make themselces out to be.

@moniceprice4918 People usually get very defensive, and angry when their wrong. Writing defensive comments under everyones messages for your mother, because she mostly likely won't respond shows you're doing her slander for her. You're coming off strong, hateful, and defensive. To tell Christian to go look in the mirror when he is talking about what he experienced. Wow! I think I would say that's RUDE. Also, to tell him to grow up!?!? Wow! What did he do wrong in this whole situation. Not one thing! Christian didn't assume anything about your mother's back, and even wished her well. Victoria is the one who posted those videos publicly. When someone says one thing, and then does/shows another it's very misleading. She had THREE MONTHS - YES THREE MONTHS to make (really buy nice items) for the box swap, but chose not to. When she started feeling like she was behind schedule, her back was hurting, etc. She could've changed her plans, and went ahead and ordered items for the box swap. She also could've sent a message saying, "I was planning on personally making some items for you because it's more meaningful for me, but now I can't do that. I'm going to order the items instead." This is the second year of this box swap, and previous videos are available on CZcams to be watched if she wanted even more references on how this box swap works. She definitely knows what boxes entail, and opens subscription boxes on a regular basis. She also definitely knows what goes into making a box, and knew that when committing. She agreed to send out a box, and should've done so. Mel, sent out two boxes, spending twice as much money than originally anticipated because she didn't want anyone left out. She didn't have to make a second box, but when you know someone is being left out, and you have a good heart, you step up. That shows how the kindness, usually goes in the community. However, there will be those bad apples from time to time who take advantage of a good situation. Mel, stepped up, and made sure everyone was involved. She probably didn't even think twice about sending the second box out either, because that's the good nature of the person she is. People's true personalities will show when given the opportunity over time. Victoria also had the opportunity when the videos dropped to message both Christian, and Mel and again apologize about not sending a box. She could've definitely stepped up and asked Mel what the cost was on the box she sent, and offered to pay her back. She could've sent thank you messages for helping her complete her obligations, and making a box for her, so to speak. However the opposite thing happened, she left the group chat. She no longer wanted to be involved. I did read every comment before writing mine, and it does seem that there is a pattern from Victoria that is coming out. It's time to take responsibility, instead of being aggressive.
