I have the '21 klx230 and love it. I agree that your bike has a great color scheme. I'm jealous, I admit it. I'd love to get those black pieces for mine. Word to the wise; don't bother with aftermarket mufflers for performance, you won't see any improvement in power. If you want more exhaust note just remove the baffle in the end of the muffler. If you want to save weight then get whatever eBay/Amazon muffler strikes your fancy. Make sure to get one with a baffle and don't go too short on the length. Oil is cheap and the thing doesn't hold much, change that shit often. Check valves every 7600 miles. Air cooled engines die from two things 1. old oil 2. out of spec valves. Don't worry about getting a fuel tuner/aftermarket ECU until you're ready to go all in with cam, high ratio roller rockers, air box mods and full exhaust. Stock tires are great on the street, really good on the rocks but not good in mud or sand. Aftermarket levers from china suck balls. Stay off the interstate and ride it like the street legal trail bike that it is. Lastly, enjoy the ride 😀
Good luck with it. I have a 2021 w/fat knobbies and love it/. Seat height is a bit challenging for the vertically challenged 3like myself. I think your model has a lower seat height and may be adding if I can find one.
This is the same bike i'm looking at but 2022s are getting rare so will likely be a 2023 which is a new color 'battle grey'. I've heard they also made some updates to the idle, tuning, led lights etc... How are you liking yours so far?
I have ridden on the trails and it did fine....clipped a tall rock and bent the shifter around but I was able to bend it back well enough to keep riding. When I got home I straightened it out and moved it up a couple of teeth and it's better now. And my boot fits under it better. All in all it's a great bike, I like it!
