Metal Gear Solid is a story about Adamska "Ocelot" Shalashaska trying to manipulate the world into getting rid of manipulation with side characters Snake, Snake, Snake, Snake, Snake, and Jack.
(Formerly Snake)
Adamska imo, is a true Anti-Villan!
50% that and 50% Miller's revenge
One too many snakes, but yes, yes indeed
@@pneuma6421wait… solid, liquid, venom and naked.. right?!
"so is he a good guy or a bad guy ?"
*YES*
He's THE guy.
"He's chaotic neutral"
I'd say he's pretty good.
@@pablito8756 _Pretty_ good?
He is the guy who knows a guy
As some wise anon once commented “the Solid series is the story of Ocelot as told from the perspective of Snakes”
this is gold
That’s absolutely true.
The secret protagonist of the entire series. In more games than any Snake.
Its true 😭
Don’t you mean antagonist cuz he’s usually a bad guy
Big Boss (Naked Snake) is in more games but Solid is only in the same amount as Ocelot
@@lichking5389 no
Protagonist
The dude only wanted to fulfill the Boss' will
@@lichking5389 how is he bad? Solidus wasnt even bad. Raiden was manipulated by the very system orchestrating every event Raiden thought he was fighting against. By the end of MGS4 liquid leaves ocelots body through battle with solid snake and he explains the whole plan. He wanted to use the system against itself. He realizes that power is a flat hierarchy and there will always be a dominant and submissive force. Ocelot decides its best to reset the world and let us decide again. He gave people a second chance.
"Colt single action army...the greatest handgun ever made"

6 bullets, more than enough to kill anything that move
“The engraving on the gun gives no advantage, unless you plan on auction it off”
I just beat mgs3 again, after nearly a decade since I originally did it
@@decentkiller1236 "Still, that was some fancy shooting. You're pretty good"
@@svetlananaumchik769 “Six bullets. More than enough to impregnate anything that moves.”
The fact that Ocelot is both a hero and a villain makes him one of the greatest video game characters ever written.
All of the villains across the series have subjective positions. Almost everyone was manipulated by war in some way. Fatman was the only one who just wanted to kill for notoriety
@@Stowneyo And Sundowner. This dude just loved war.
@@yourewallsareveryconvenien8292 “Just like the good ol’ days after 9/11”
I don't think he can be considered a hero by any measure. He backstabs and murders lots of people, he loves torture for the sake of it and he wants to bring the world into a constant state of warfare because that's what Big Boss wanted.
@@TheIrland09 Not quite. He respected Big Boss, and looked at him as a rival in the sibling sense as they “shared” the same mother (The Boss being Ocelot’s actual mother as well as Naked Snake’s figurative mother), but he wasn’t doing Big Boss’ will, he was doing The Boss’ will.
What actually happened:
Ocelot worked for the Patriots as a triple agent to take down the Patriots to allow all to live and let live like the Boss wanted, not to create a nation of soldiers without sovereignty, like Big Boss wanted.
I agree that he did a lot of questionable things to get there, but that’s where the moral grey of the series shows itself here, as many would agree that some sacrifices would be worth making for the protection of the world/vast majority.
People often misinterpret Ocelot’s feelings towards Big Boss. He’s not his disciple, his minion, his fan, or his drone. Again, Big Boss is more of an older sibling who he respects and wants to be better than, and succeeds (as he actually understood the Boss’ will and gave his life to be the unsung hero who achieved it).
Ocelot played us like a DAMN FIDDLE!
Ocelot did exactly as his mother did, and he suffered much longer than she.
I view him as the hero of the story only loyal to big boss because he is the closest thing to having The Boss (his mother) in his life. Big Boss is the closest thing he has to a family and ocelot views him as his brother because The Boss raised Big Boss. so he risks it all for him. In the end I feel like all of his betrayal was for the loyalty of his family and their legacy.
Fully agree. The ultimate question in the series is what is a soldier loyal too? Duty? Your nation? Yourself? Turns out it’s love and friends.
Ocelot loved snake like family. He took over the entire world because he loved his friend. A soldier loyal to the people closest to him.
I already knew all of this info, and it still went over my head. Lol
Yep. Metal Gear Solid 2 plot in particular still melts my brain 24 years later.
I love that you referred to Ocelot as a “caretaker” of the events. That’s how I’ve seen him in the past. He facilitates almost every major event that has happened in the entire series.
In reality Miller was actually the "bad guy" if you are on the side with big boss since Miller was secretly contacting zero the whole time during mgs5. Ocelot was actually the true hero and true friend to Big Boss and the clone.
Big Boss, Ocelot and Miller were all Assholes.
@@Nerwrax15 - Very true. Solid Snake didn't know The Boss from a can of beans, but he understood what she stood for the most.
I don't remember Kaz communicating with Zero in that game....
@@Justin-ou5yo he was in contact during Peace Walker, he was in the tapes in Ground Zeroes in the background telling them to hold Paz down when they put the bombs in her, he ultimately sided with the patriots when he backed Solid Snake even though Snake didn’t know about the patriots
@@mateomorales1653 what are you going on about? have you even listened to the tapes or played peace Walker?
Ocelot. The best spy ever in the history.
He full went Batman all alone for world peace. Now that's the kid of The Boss!
Salute to them
The Boss’s kid!
Technically, Adamska was the most important character in the saga on certain terms, thanks to him everything happened.
Liquid's arm was real but it was replaced with a cybernetic one after MGS2. It's hinted that Ocelot may have inherited spirit medium powers from The Sorrow.
"When your life meter reaches zero, the game is over."
There are no continues, my friend.
Shall we go again?
Don’t even think about using auto fire or I’ll know
i love you guys
And in the end it was The Boss's son who freed the world from control.
Shadow Moses, where our childhoods ended, where we all became legends.
2mins 45 secs in and I'm already confused
The man was a vessel for the times, had many different personalities and memories. Yet in the end helped Free the World from the Patriots.
I would love to see more deep dives into metal gear. I for one cannot get enough metal gear content.
Miller doesnt stick with big boss he helps venom whilst ocelot sticks with big boss
😎👉🏽
👉🏽
you're pretty good
See thumbnail.. "Why is Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega in Metal Gear Solid?"
& Darby Allin, pre-skating phase
I don't know if anyone ever realized but ocelot was only truthful to Big Boss. He idolized him. You can see it when they meet in the truth mission at the end of Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain and Metal Gear Solid 3 snake eater.
I’m currently on my second big Metal Gear kick, going to play through every game some for the first time when I finish Death Stranding. This was well timed
Ocelot was playing 4-D chess while everyone else was playing checkers
Nomura and Kojima write a game together.
My brain: So this is how it ends...
This is the best character on so many levels
The story of the biggest bro in all of gaming.
People often misinterpret Ocelot’s feelings towards Big Boss. Ocelot is not his disciple, his minion, his fan, or his drone. Big Boss is more of an older sibling who he respects and wants to be better than, and succeeds (as he actually understood the Boss’ will and gave his life to be the unsung hero who achieved it, just like his mother).
Ocelot worked for the Patriots as a triple agent to take down the Patriots to allow all to live and let live like the Boss wanted, not to create a nation of soldiers without sovereignty, like Big Boss wanted.
He respected Big Boss, but again, looked at him as a rival in the sibling sense as they “shared” the same mother (The Boss being Naked Snake’s figurative mother as well as being Ocelot’s actual mother).
After watching this im not annoyed to Ocelot anymore.. thanks for making this video it gave me clarity on ocelot’s true intent throughout the mgs story. "You're pretty good"
I need no explanation for this but, I’m still gonna watch
Same here lol....just watching to make sure they got it right 😅
I barely understand the storyline of this series. But I definitely love Ocelot. XD
This was excellent! I would love to see more!
Yes please, many more videos about MGS, I’ll have to watch this again cause there is so much info
Ocelot complied with the Patriots for so long in order to pull all the right strings to lead Solid and his crew to EVERYTHING they needed to end the Patriots rule.. The son of the Boss aided the clone/son of Big Boss so that in the end he(Ocelot) could fulfill his mothers original will.
Truly amazing.
I feel like MGS4's explanation of Ocelot brainwashin' himself was such a waste. Once it was revealed that The Sorrow was Ocelot's dad, it would have made sense that Ocelot may have developed some sort of ability to contact the dead, and Liquid attached to Ocelot's psyche easier 'cause of the arm. In retrospect, most of the story of MGS4 was wasted potential really. There were some great scenes, but the overall direction isn't as tip top as the lore before it. Damn you, fan service!
Revolver Ocelot really out here "Snaking" everybody except Big Boss
Man’s pretty good.
Big Boss and Ocelot are the real MVP'S
Rob Pearson would definitely love this.
He'll possibly watch this video haha
Would be cool if he suddenly replies "Hello! You've caught me..."
Watching this was pure nostalgia!!
ocelot is the second best character in the mgs series and i think that hes the true hero but to others hes the villan
Do you ever think that Kojima was actually going to go with the “ liquid is really possessing ocelot” route? But then chickened out at the last second
You're pretty good.
In the end, ocelot was loyal to one man his hero big boss
Jon Voight back in the day would’ve been a great live action ocelot
Revolver ocelot turns out to be the Hero
Ocelot is my favourite video game character!
Ocelot is that type of person who would paint their pants brown to make everyone believe that he shitted himself
I can’t get enough of ocelot
Yes please do more of these!!!!!!
Ben Roy should do tons of videos like this. And explain why Colin Salmon should play Snake.
Love this type of mgs content
I loved Ocelot in MGSV
Great speech my friend, the mark of a good officer... And of a liar.
Remember Big Boss having this weird mother/son/lovers vibe with the Boss, well Ocelot did it with Big Boss.
No they didn't.
Ocelot didn't know the boss was his biological mother
Liquid Ocelot has to be the coolest name ever!!
Metal Gear Ocelot
Awesome video
Give us more Metal Gear deep dives
C'mon Ben-Roy, you "fight mantis" 3 times in the series.
Kept us waiting huh?
Hes only alive cause snake like to see those revolvers dance
How many ocelots are there
1
the true hero of metal gear
This is the guy who meows at you
to me, he is the most complicated mgs character to understand lol
Well knowing his mother killed his father had to be tough along with being abducted by The Philosophers who also killed his Grandfather. They gave him every reason to want to take them out. He also knew any organization that spawned from them would have to be stopped as well Cypher and The Patriots. He saw it all through.
shares my birthday like a boss
The reason Ocelot killed the real Donald Anderson is because of the fact that he knew his real identity as one of the founding members of the Patriots. The Patriots were not Ocelot’s “masters”.. He is/was one.. And given the fact that he in a sense went on to raise Liquid, I don’t think he wanted Liquid to know that he in fact was the very group of people he was going after.. knowing that the real big boss wasn’t dead.. therefore Ocelot knew the entire time they’d never get the real remains of Big Boss..
Phantom was so fucking raw. And to think its a half baked game! My favorite game of all time!
"You! But you died! "
It was a deleted plot from mgs 5 where in the end venom snake reveal to be frank jeager
The only thing i dont care for is how much of a different character he seemed to be throughout his different appearances in the saga. MGS3 Ocelot, MGS5 Ocelot, and MGS1,2, and 4 Ocelot are so different in demeanor, attitude, and look that they barely pass as the same character 😒
I wouldve liked there to have been more of a linear progression in his arc throughout the prequel games
Big Boss and Ocelot were always best friends, even tho he killed his mom.
The Boss was more of a mom to Snake than she was to Ocelot. You could say they were brothers, one by blood, the other by heart
Metal Gear Ocelot
🤘⚙🐈
He played us like a damn fiddle
Ocelot and his parents had one objective, finish the mission.
More MGS content please and thank you!
Gary Oldman should play Revolver Ocelot in a Metal Gear movie
If you ever have to explain the plot of the MGS series, just explain Ocelot's story and that's it lmao.
i always tought Ocelot spend his life to self hypnosis his mind in order to forget his lifetime as CIA then NSA Agent, GRU Major, Soviet Interegation Instructor Durning his time in Afghaninstan and then Diamond Dog Intel Gathering team.
it's just crazy he has to forget his memories and then became Host for Liquid's Mind in order bring back Big Boss
lol I always thougth Gene ("Viper" or "the Successor") was son of The Boss and The Sorrow
Ocelot seemed like a good person in phantom pain. What happened? Lol
Some bullshit happened between events
So basically Kojima made it all up as he went along non of this makes any sense.
Man this was confusing as hell
bro you gotta take out that pic of you holding sekiro with your mouth open lest someone turns it into an ms paint caricature
Ocelot is based on Doc Holiday from tombstone.
"You're pretty good!"
Hunnam as Ocelot ftw
“What if I’m a spy?” -Revolver Ocelot
"or you? We can go on all day."
Best Game character ever
In order for light to defeat darkness darkness must be established ocelot
Literally the only man I relate to.
I just replayed mgs again and got confused if ocelot and liquid are the same character or not and it threw me off so much
More metal gear videos please 🙏 🙂
The funny thing about Ocelot is that half of the things that people find confusing about him can easily explained simply by the fact that he's gay. But so many gamer dudebros don't want to accept this side of him and in tern Ocelot becomes an enigma to them.
This
Legendary comment
Bro wtf he ain’t gay 😂😂
yup 😆
Psych mantis is in alot of the games too
pretty good
That cuz ocelot was secretly the main character guns of the Patriots proves that
