      Sometimes, concept never changes, even in goddamn movies depicting Battle of Stalingrad
      Always apartment to apartment clearing except that one time in CoD2 where you have to breeze through German defensive line from the East, and recapture German controlled Train Station in Stalingrad, only in those two house to house fighting isn't visible, blatantly

      People during ww2 endured unspeakable close calls.
      Some soldiers survived shot in the head, some soldiers experience miracles when grenade exploded right under their feet and the shower of hundreds razor sharp shrapnels missed the fortunate soldier. In band of brothers for example there are many miracles like dud artillery shell landing into foxhole or capt speirs just running trough enemy position etc. But jumping from brick to brick that's some spiderman/assassins creed/ metal gear rising stuff. That's why I love Hell Let's Loose. The Marvel/Indiana Jones flavour in WW2 setting is not my cup of coffee. I would enjoy COD1,2,4, MW2 anytime. And maybe Black ops1 and cold war.

    I love seeing high-budget games take on great WWII stories, but this is such a sanitized version of Stalingrad lol.
    Nobody was surprised by the German assault on the city. It was anything but a sneak attack. And when it did kick off in earnest, it was absolute slaughter - a tooth-and-nail fight for every meter between the front line and the river. Most importantly, I don't think the Germans wasted a lot of time taking people alive, and I don't think many civilians were in the city living their normal lives when the Germans arrived.

    • @aaltuxov
      @aaltuxov Před 2 lety +52

      True. But actually a lot of citizens were surprised by german air raid on 23 of August. They thought what air raid siren that day was just training once just as usual. However when AA guns opened fire and bombs started falling from the skyes everyone started to reach their shelters as soon as possible to not to be blown up by hordes of german bombers
      However I'm glad that at least at this time Eastern Front portrayed a little bit better and with a little more respect than in other games and movies about Eastern Front. Of course there're still a lot of cringy moments, but I hope in the future game devs will work on it.

    Judging by the trees and vegetations we are somewhere in Italy or France, but nowhere near Stalingrad.
    Why are people boarding their shops when there was no commerce in the USSR?
    Where did they get plywood? If you look at the pictures of Stalingrad in 1940, you would not find plywood, it was an expensive and fancy material used for furniture and aircrafts, no one would have been using it to board up windows in his right mind.
    Why is there so many cars abandoned? Only high officials were able to afford cars, why are there so many abandoned cars if all officials would have been evacuated months before the first air raid?
    Why is there yellow tarp everywhere? Is this The Division 2 or what?
    You even used the wrong barbed wire, google Stalingrad images and see what type of barbed wire was used in the USSR, every soviet person knows it and its nothing like this fancy modern razor wire.
    And its like that with everything. It is not Stalingrad, it is France with yellow tarp from the Division 2, razor wire from Iraq war and plywood from US marines training grounds with fake plywood houses.
