UPDATE: Bloom helps with sova's dart.
UPDATE: Improve Clarity does actually have an effect similar to increasing contrast. It's not very noticeable and not worth the performance cost. Also no, improve clarity does not highlight enemies far away - that's a myth. Recommended setting: OFF
UPDATE: MED setting on Material Quality will make breakable windows such as Garden on Ascent slightly easier to see through than LOW. Recommend: MED
UPDATE: Anisotropic Filtering effect changes the distance at which textures at an angle are rendered. The higher the setting you choose the further that textures will be rendered to full quality. This is most noticeable on the firearm (shown in video) as the texture is at a very steep angle to the camera. The same effect is also applied to ground textures in-game, but they are less noticeable than the firearm which is why this video shows it on the Vandal instead of ground textures. Recommended setting: 4x
UPDATE: Distortion adds a distortion effect to scopes. Recommended setting: OFF
UPDATE: UI quality affects the minimap.
Selecting the best settings for Valorant through benchmarking each setting and evaluating it on a visual quality vs performance level to get the maximum fps boost with the minimal visual quality impact.
Benchmarked final settings:
Multithreaded Rendering - ON
Material Quality - MED
Texture Quality - MED
Detail Quality - MED
UI Quality - MED
Vignette - OFF
VSYNC - OFF
Anti-Aliasing - MSAA4x
Anisotropic Filtering - 4x
Improve Clarity - OFF
Bloom - OFF
Distortion - OFF
First Person Shadows - OFF
For optimum results the benchmarks were done on a GTX 1070 as it is one of the most commonly used cards for the average gamer at the moment. It is also more likely to reveal benchmarked FPS performance differences where a top of the line video card could show no difference for minor visual effect settings such as Bloom. CPU used is a Intel i7 7700k.

This is why underrated channels are better.
All those game guides channel always give points with no real justification. Sometimes even give false informations
@@faizfrez2729 because bigger channels are bunch of trash contents.
I mean ure right, most underated channels are so helpful and those editors/gamers works really hard to achieve their goal, but those people who are already famous they are just careless and lazy on making videos because they are already famous and they already got their goals. lol i think im right. anyways thanks
WildcasterTV for explaining about BEST SETTINGS Benchmark.
@@E4erZ U got it! thats what i mean but im too lazy to type it lol. here my F for explaining.

Yep, for me... what foliage?
I go back to this video every few months when I want to test new settings, it's my ref. Thanks for the good work !
Thank you for doing this. It's nice to see someone do actual research when recommending video settings.
O
I love ur profile
Tru dude
This guys great
Yeah now that I have this information I went from Bronze 1 to immortal
Theres no multithreaded rendering in my val setting, anybody know why?
This is honestly, hands down, by far, the best video on valorant settings ever made
That is so true. The way the test is the same and with all the calculations, true masterpiece.
This is by far the best guide on video settings I've ever seen, very clear language and straight to the point. Love it!
This video is actually amazing, with the subtle jokes and good researching, this should be recommended to everyone
and it is getting recommended
This is one of the best videos out there on this, time spent paid off!
I like how underrated channels I watched today are good as those having a million subs. You deserve more. subbed!
Watched nearly all of your videos - very informative. You come to the point quick and sharp with funny anecdotes. Thank you!
this is the PERFECT video settings video. Thank you man!
Love videos like that. Straight to the point without any dumb fillers :D
Theres no multithreaded rendering in my val setting, anybody know why?
this video was like a dream coming true
i had been waiting since sooo long for this video to come in my recommended
love the work keep grinding
I am blessed to be recommended this, much effort, thanks!!
Thank you for an in depth benchmarking!
Glad it was helpful!
this is some really, really good shit. Please give this man the credit he deserves.
Thank you best video so far . you analyzed everything and I am commenting after 2 years of you posting it but it still tremensely helped me better than any other video today
i love how the video starts at the first second and is full of info and humour, keep making videos brother
you do not know how much you helped me I wish this channel gets more subs tbh he actually deserves it since he puts more effort in his videos than the others
1:59 Trees look dramatically different from Medium to Low my dude. You nailed the setting though.
Your video is very helpful as not many people would go this far and change make guesses on their opinion but you actually put effort and did the evidence everyone needed to know best setting for people
Damn, YT recommendations on point with this one. Great job on the video! Subbed.
This video fixed all of my stuttering and frame drops really good video!
Glad to hear it!
Omg this tutorial and info is so underrated yet so helpfull.
this was perhaps the best setting video i've seen, kudos sir
Excellent from start to finish, liked and subbed.
This guy deserves an award❤️
By the way having texture on medium is important because some textures can’t be shown on low so medium+ is a must for agents like sova where you might find yourself having obscure lineups on specific spots
Example?
@@enpowrs theres one line up on ascent where u need medium because if you are on low it doesnt show the specific texture needed for the lineup, same goes for other maps
@Valorant bro There are a lot of lineups that require things changing it to lower would remove, but if you don't play an agent you need lineups for (viper, brim, sova, etc) it doesn't matter
guys keep in mind texture quality mainly consumes VRAM on your gpu, so you should set it accordingly, if your gpu has 4gb of vram, i would recommend low, 6gb? medium, 8gb or more should be set to high since you wont notice any performance difference. This is why there is no performance difference in this test, because the gpu used most likely has more then enough vram for high texture quality.
@@ljfdrummer100 This is correct. All tests are performed without vram or cpu bottlenecks - as the results would be useless otherwise. Everyone should avoid vram bottlenecks at any cost if possible.
Lovely video man , very well done and great that i took time to explain the options , while it might seem weird most of the ppl have no clue for most of them.
Dude .. What can I say You're Awesome... Great Content! Subscribed!!!
Mano, que explicação incrível!! Meus parabéns
this is exactly what i was looking for
great vod. VERY USEFUL THX.
THIS IS SO FREAKING GOOD, THIS IS THE BEST SETTING SET-UP VIDEO IVE SEEN
good job on the vid man, clearly you put a lot of time and effort into this and I and all are thankful
me getting 30 fps at 1280x720 with the lowest settings: *Interesting*
Same
I get around 55 but drops to 25-30 in smokes
Soo underrated! Thanks a lot for the vid, hope you blow up for these amazing videos!!
This is one of those GOLDEN vids that as soon as I watched it I liked, saved and shared to all my friends just getting into valorant. Thanks ALBU!!
Note: When you have med-high Material Quality, the breakable glass in A Garden at Ascent is translucent compared to transparent when the setting is Low
Did not notice this! I've added it to video description!
@@ALBUPerformance did i see something wrong or you wrote the opposite in desc
Updated this again after testing this myself. My results seem to differ from OP. Its more noticeable when you look from the garden side: HIGH is very hard to see, MED is completely transparent, LOW is slightly opaque. imgur.com/T1vmvIy
Distortion only applies to sniper copes. On the outlier of the scope it warps the vision a bit. It hurts more than it helps in case you see an enemy at the very edge of it so it's better off anyway
Loved it bro keep it up
Providing this kind of video
Respect for your commitment. Keep up the good work!
Wow straight to the point and no bullshit, its also tested? Damn ur channel is so underrated bro
I dont even play Valorant but this is great content and I've watched it all
very underrated video. too much detailed and very well explained
thanks, bro helped a lot. Hope you reach 100k by the end of this year
8:00 the white fan unit actually seems sharper - the white is more white and the black seems more crisp/ contrasted.
I suppose it's a very subtle contrast effect?
You're right. (I added the correction in the description section) Improve Clarity does up the contrast on everything in-game. Depending on your monitor and colors it might be more or less apparent. Also certain nvidia settings or programs such as Flux will override it as well. Overall the difference is quite hard to notice. In summary it's true that there is actually a visual effect but still not worth losing some performance for.
By the way, Low UI disables the animated main menu screen.
Anisotropic filtering also makes textures viewed at an angle look much better. In your exact example (6:51), you can see between 1x and 16x the tiles on the ground after a certain distance go from completely blurred to much more detailed. It's not very visible in the Training Range but in game it's a huge difference for virtually no drop in FPS
True. I've added corrections like this to the video description. I decided to show the weapons skin instead of the ground because I figured people would care more about the skins they pay for rather then the ground which is much less noticeable. Essentially I wanted to keep the video short. I should've included a scene of each though.
Great work man ❤️
No bullshit and straight to the point, testing with high consideration for real usage. Bravo!!!
One thing I would like to add :) about UI quality, notice Omen's ult and your mini map burns with black flames ? Setting it to high makes it look like a cool black flame ( like Itachi Uhicha's Amaterasu if you know what i mean XD ) while setting it to low makes it look like a solid, a flat-washed grayish back color with no texture of flames. Doesnt really affect the game/fps
Did not notice that! Thank you!

Another consideration is the detail settings effect on smoke particle effects. Having high or medium details gives some smokes (most notably viper wall) much less visibility if seen from the side.
so its bad to use detail on high/med? i didnt get the bloom and clarity
@@memecity6722 he means setting it to Low is better

Might be because I’m a trained artist, but I do see a slight improvement in clarity with the improve clarity option from your video. The shadows are slightly darker and bright parts are slightly more textured. It’s definitely negligible unless you look carefully though
The setting is designed to improve ENEMY AND PLAYER clarity, not really designed for other things...
@@TechSupportDave so is improve clarity worth it or should I turn off
@@TechSupportDave turn out ur wrong, look up the description
@@Kassadin. descriptions actually often don't mean shit thats why I wouldn't listen to them. Video game devs are often dumber than people think.
Most reliable way to tell what a setting does is via image comparisons. I know that for this setting specifically that is true at least.
Even does my settings are all low I still watched this. Very informative!
Thanks dude this is what im searching for
So, correction. With improved clarity there is a difference, however it's more noticeable on lower end pc's. It essentially adds a grainy filter or texture to the scene to add more noticeable clarity on lower resolutions. I play on 720p to maximize my fps because I have a lower end PC for the time. And It definitely add's a lot of difference.
There is an update video dedicated to Improve Clarity: czcams.com/video/hRmZxte1rRY/video.html
A lower/higher end PC won't affect the visual difference of Improve Clarity. It's likely the higher contrast-like effect of Improve Clarity is more noticeable on a non-native resolution.
also look at how clear the fans are
that "here" at 5:27 had me dieing xD
dat voice crack tho😂
I've followed your channel recently, as I love tweaking settings and testing things, and ofc improving my game performances, so keep the hard work! and hey, might be worth mentioning a couple of things have changed, such as Improved Clarity actually working now, and Detail Quality does change performance in any of it's value (High/Med/Low) by an actual measurable amount, perhaps a new Valorant recommended settings video update? :D
Dude! the BEST valorant videosetting video EVER! keep up your good work!!
very good vid!
The for settings with 2x 4x 8x and so on. It only changes if you set it to application controlled on nvidia control panel and it makes a huge difference. Sovereign ghost on 1x is disgusting but on 4x its clean
this was very well done, subbed.
Great video dude nice work
Just a random comment to help youtube algorithm to make this more popular :)
Mad respect.
I am honestly happy with my settings, but this is like the perfect video for recommanded settings. Love it man.
Excellent explantion! I wish I could have found this video last year
Little correction over Anisotropic filtering section, look at the floor tiles, u'll get the difference.
What it does is, it filters the texture over ur game by the distance u actually want to set i.e, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x.
You're welcome..:)
I mentioned it in the video description. I chose to show the effect on the weapon skins since people actually pay money for them and would likely care more about the weapon detail than floor details at long distances. Wish I had included a clip of the floor as well though.
HOLY THIS IS
100% useful content
100% scientific proof
100% underrated
100% this guy deserve more than 12.5k subs !
Nice vid bro !
fantastic video brother, easy sub
hope to see you do more games in the future and maybe a "best pc settings for more fps" or something
Best analytical video I've ever seen.
Good.
I loved your video so much
btw, can you make updated video?
i became a god after using this settings thanks
That's what I want to hear!!!!
that was actually amazing the way you explained it i was struggling to know what any of those rlly did
but bcuz of you know i have 30% more fps. thnx dude keep up the good work. I SUBBED
Amazing vid my friend!
One thing you didn't mention is the game/render latency
On my PC, I noticed turning my settings to High (material, texture, detail and ui) made my latency higher even tho It didn't affect my FPS that much, and that's an important factor also as input lag is certainly annoying
just by the way, the distortion setting makes it so when you have the operator or marshal scoped it, the outer rim of the scope is blurry as if your looking through glass.
Greatest Valorant benchmark video!
This is probably the best video settings guide for valorant. Keep doing this for other games. God bless your channel
Bro I need my max settings for Sova lineups. Still a great guide, wish I could use it though
I wish I had tested with Sova specifically. At the time of the video I wasn't aware. I could do either an update video for Sova, or add the info to the description.
9:38 For full recommended settings after benchmarking! 👌
God, u were that coment that i was looking for
Insane Video! Thanks a lot and so deserved sub
Tanks for this video, i sugest you continue the saga when there are updates coming and more testing to do !
Hey man, I noticed that with the 1.11 patch they seem to have changed the Ascent window texture, meaning that on all Material Detail levels it is easy to see through. Could you possibly check it out and update the description if it has been changed?
Updated in video description. Sorry forgot to post this reply at the time.
Distortion affect the scope perimeter. I find it distracting so I put it off, but I know some like the effect.
Thanks John. You're right. I've added the correction in the description since YT does not allow overlay text on the vid.
Just found your channel and I believe you are underrated. You should have more subs
Bro thanks a lot this video helps a lot the community.
I think Improved Clarity and Bloom settings also affects enemy players visibility, so it should be considered and tested properly. Nonetheless thank you for a such detailed video.
I would recommend setting ui quality to low as it removes the minimap circle
Thankyou for explaining those settings men 💯💯
I love this type of benchmark video, you have my little sub and like support
The difference between practice and actual games is huge though, could go around 300fps on practice but drop below 100fps in an actual match
I get 200 fps in practice and 80 in real match the game is kinda broken
@@trunks2853 no LOL there’s less people in range so it does better
@@Uub27 the game isn't broken but it's still new and not completely polished. I get stutters and huge drops (sometimes) when I shouldn't. Overall it runs great and is very acceptable as a new game.
@@noclipp yeah but saying its broken is just weird, like ofc its gonna run better in the range than an actual match
Yea that's exaclty the point I'm trying to prove. Checking fps in range is pointless..
