Thanks for the video. Some peep apparently expect a major Hollywood production on bolt installation. But your vid is still better than the ones the critics DIDNT post.
Thanks! Answered all my questions!
This was incredibly helpful.
Did you end up making a video on how to remove a spinning carriage bolt?
Great info!
Thank you for your feedback!
I have carriage bolts on my snowblower skids. What a pain. I need to find something slotted because it took us 2 hours to get these things off. I have a Husqvarna. Snowblower works great, but these carriage bolts, not so much. Is there anything else I could use? TIA.
Start days before you want to remove the carriage bolts and spray them with DW40 each day for a week. Those bolts should come off easy if you do this process.
What is the benefit of using a carriage bolt? When should it be used?
The square neck keeps the bolt from slipping when you tighten it. So you dont have to back it up. However, I have seen them eventually work loose and the pilot hole round out some and the bolt slip. Then it's a P.I.T.A. to extract.
Normally when working with wood that needs a good structural integrity. In other words, for objects that will be used in ways a screw will not hold everything together. Work tables, big wooden boxes or crates, docks for your lake house.
Any specific recommendations for bits? My 3/8 spade bit makes a hole so snug I have to maneuver the drilling a bunch to get the 3/8 carriage bolts to fit.
Thanks for this.
Thanks for posting!
You're welcome. Thank you for your feedback.
You should have used the ratchet/deep socket or even a ratchet wrench
Easy to do with it going into wood
You're welcome! Thank you for your feedback.

Thanks for assuming I don’t know how to tighten a bolt.
Haha
That's nuts!
I would love to show you how I use Carriage bolts , if you can contact me I will show you. Thanks Ray:)
Thank you for your feedback.
@@AlbanyCountyFasteners lol
Please get someone who knows what they are doing to make your videos. My neighbor doesn’t know what he’s doing and neither does this guy.
Thank you for your feedback.
The fact people leave comments like this lmfao. Just don’t even reply if it’s not helpful. The guy was having a hard time tighten the bolt bc he’s trying to make a video. It’s not like a normally day at the shop, Jesus. This person is just teaching basic knowledge not rocket science.
Love your products but your vids are just amatuer.
Thank you for your feedback.
I learned nothing here.
