Indeed. To have such a mindset it has to be a case of mental illness. How can a sane mind expect this to succeed ? Unbelievable how this character picked up his bags and expected to go on his way.
I read the news article and it makes me sick. Family immediately blames the police. One cousin, without seeing a video or any evidence said, "the police shot him down like a dog." Another family member said the police never notified the family. It was later shown police contacted the family that day. I wonder if they still blamed the police when it was proven Boston robbed the store, Boston was a felon in possession of a gun, Boston fired at police officers first. I have to laugh when the family says in the article he was loving family man. He surely didn't look like that in the video. Unreal.
Officer Torres - You may never see this, but you did what you needed to do, you did your job well and turns out you're human, and do not enjoy horrible situations like this. Good job on the other officers as well, looking after him and then lifesaving on the perp.
(KJV) Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. The cop in this video who shot the perp had this verse tattooed on his arm….
😮 This is the longest and most intense thing I have ever seen. Amazing to see the process from start to finish. All of the hands on deck to make everyone from police, EMT, firefighters, and medical staff safe and secure. Hats off to all of you!
More bodycams should be left on throughout EMS transit, It's a huge window into the world of first responders, and shows just how much is done to attempt to preserve life.
I found it very comforting when Officer Meyer said "It's alright, we're both here together." at 10:38 That's something I'd like to hear after a suspect fired a .357 at me and I was trying to compose myself.
If anyone says that these cops, paramedics, and doctors didn’t do EVERYTHING in their power to help this guy, they’re living in an alternate universe. The initial encounter, Officer Torres was begging him to stop. The medics and transport officer were trying their very best to control him. Granted, he was shot six times and was losing a lot of blood as seen on the sheets when he’d sit up. He was clearly in shock, etc. But what amazed me most were all those doctors (presumably surgeons) and nurses laying in wait for him. They were ready to go before the ambulance even arrived at the hospital. After all the mistakes he made, society still tried to help this guy. Some people, it seems, are almost destined to be lost. His family failed him, other apparatuses of the state failed him, not the cops, paramedics, and surgeons/nurses.
Right.. I just read a comment of someone putting blame on the paramedics for not tranquilizing dude while rendering him aid, that him struggling is what killed him.. lol people.
@@ronin8490 i considered why they didn’t sedate him just to make their job easier. They know more than me. I’m guessing it probably would have killed him. He probably lost too much blood for sedation to even work. It would be like how during the Second World War, administering too much morphine could kill a patient instead of helping them.
@@ronin8490 EMT's aren't allowed to use sedatives 99% of the time anyways. They'll get their licenses revoked instantly if they used sedatives when they aren't allowed to.
Unfortunately that's all irrelevant to all the cop haters out there. I don't know about Charlotte, but the mayor here in Columbus Ohio would be calling this "yet another" unnecessary shooting of a poor black man. He'd know it was a lie, but he'd also know it'd get him votes.
Love how the one ems guy looks like he's just casually standing and moving around doing his job while the police officer with the body cam is gripping the door handle for dear life lol

From the suspects family: Am I angry? Yes. I am. Am I hurt? I’m broken. I am very broken,” says Boston’s cousin, community activist Mario Black. Black and Boston’s sister-in-law Billie say Kevin, known as “KK” was dealing with mental health issues, something they believe contributed to what happened. He was a family man. He loved kids. He loved people,” says Billie Black. Boston’s cousin, saying he wishes more could be done to de-escalate the situation. I just feel if they were trained to be more vigilant and sensitive to the need, we potentially wouldn’t be standing right here this afternoon,” Mario Black says. However, this loveable family guy has a lengthy criminal record including prison time for manslaughter.
What the cops need is to be trained to use their minds like Neo to not only dodge the bullets but halt them with their mind. Then they can use their flying Kung Fu to disarm the suspect and detain them until a social worker arrives. This is the lowest bar I am willing to accept for police.
"I just know everything that comes next" -as he starts to freak out. An irresponcible media and politicians looking to win points for division did that to these guys. Incredible job by Charlotte PD and EMS.
It’s so sad what these cops go through after these shootings. The fear of the shooting being ruled not justified and suddenly you’re facing murder charges. Obviously this was justified but the cop still has to live with this the rest of his life.
The fact that this “person” came in that store so regularly to steal that they knew him is so horrible. Same of judges and prosecutors letting these animals out constantly! What if a mother and baby was walking by and got shot! Soft judges are one of many things ruining our country
It was very sad to hear the first officer have to say “I know what comes with all this!” He shouldn’t have to worry about what comes with trying to protect himself and others. God bless him & protect him as he continues his career as a peace officer in his state. Great work to both officers in protecting one another.
It was a rhetorical statement could've meant, maybe spiritually wise he has a whole Bible verse tattooed on his left arm looks like he's close to God I mean no matter how evil a person is no one's happy to taking life !
My heart goes out to the officer who was face to face in a gun battle. You serve and protect and fight crime every day. But this pushed you over the limit. I hope that you were able to overcome everything this event caused you. God Bless you, sir. And God Bless ALL Law Enforcement Officers!
Thanks for providing these very educational videos. It is especially important that you continue to publish. The best additional detail is that you provide a brief write up of the event and legal closure to the video case below the videos!
Wow, you can really hear it in the first officers voice as the firefight continues. I hope he, and his fellow officers are okay, and they seek the help they may need. A situation like this would shake me to the c o r e.
That man is a dispatcher's dream. Calm, clear, concise. Hope the first officer is doing okay. Edit: Holy shit the aid rendered by those officers to the criminal was amazing. Also nice to see the footage from inside the ems squad for once.
I just watched the entire video. My son, who has been a professional firefighter-EMT in a major metropolitan Fire and EMS department in Maryland for the past 12 years, recently pinned on his Paramedic patch. This video provided me with a true understanding of what actually occurs in the back of an ambulance after a major trauma. I have a good reason now to thank the Good Lord for all our first responders and everything they do. No matter what the reason for the carnage they have to address, they have adopted a 'care at all cost' attitude towards all their patients. May God protect them all.
You can tell that officer had never been in this kind of situation before. I could literally feel the adrenaline rush through the screen 😂 Props to him for keeping his head on straight and sticking to his training though
@@GardenGuy1943 ah yes. Use the taser. Good things they are also known to be deadly in certain cases. They also fail a lot when they are used on people with a lot of clothing. So your suggestion is to use something that may kill him … probably wouldn’t work and all the while he could shoot the officer while we try to appease your sense of justice? Homie here fired his gun … he clearly wasn’t the gentle teddy bear
Or … or I’ll even give that he has a bag in each arm but I have zoomed in and paused where the guy walked past the patrol car with the first officer. He has the gun in his right hand. Pointed straight ahead. He may have the bag in the elbow of his arm or both in the left arm … either way he has the gun out and able to be used. He’s too far away for an effective aim for the taser from the second officer and asking the closest officer to assume the risk is asking him to gamble his life. Let’s also remember the beginning of the video where he was a frequent shop lifter and brandished the gun as an escalation from his usual just petty theft. We just hoping it doesn’t escalate again and he shoot’s the next person who bothers him? Sorry but I do think that life is a sacred thing but if someone doesn’t care about their own life then I don’t care about it either. All these people who pull out the gun when a cop asks them to stop I can’t care about their bad choices. I’d be crying all day for these people who wouldn’t even cry for themselves
Big props to all paramedics. What an incredibly hard job. Even when they are trying to save the life of those who don't deserve it, they give it everything.
@bill I agree no matter what he did they were not compassionate. I say that to say he wasn’t shooting at them they had no dog in the race. Just do your job the best way you know how
@@glennlee2321 Compassion isn't necessary as long as proper life saving treatments are being done. The guy was an asshole to everyone including the medics. They did all the could and did a great job. Try having a job where you're abused 24/7 verbally and physically and try and be "compassionate". Their compassion was treating the patient as they would any other, which doesn't mean kissing booboos.
Watched another video where a female cop shot and killed a man with a gun who keep coming at police and then backing off. He was threatening. The female cop pleaded with the man and cried after shooting him.
Officer Erik Torres, you did what you had to do. I hope you've breathed since. It's hard, I know. I'm not experienced in this, but I DO know. You're standing for good and for justice, and never let that change.
As a former paramedic having a combative patient and the bouncing around in the back of an ambulance really makes it hard to do your job. They did their best under the circumstances.
The worst part about this entire situation is he used a firearm to steal food. Not a car or jewelry but food. He made the fatal decision to pull out the pistol on the officers but losing your life over groceries is just terrible.
I agree it's pretty effed up, but remember that it wasn't stealing groceries that got him killed, it was his shooting at police officers. If he had just gone in and started eating stuff off the shelves without a gun, the worst that would've happened is a trip to the jail. Where he'd get three meals a day, by the way. Just saying. He chose to set himself up to lose his life over groceries. That's the true absurdity.
The saddest thing I’ve ever heard is to hear an officer say, while fighting back tears, “I just know what all of this brings”. This country is so backwards. Criminals should fear the law not the other way around. Saddens me and makes me fear for this country.
That ambulance bodycam video is crazy! He is actively fighting them as they try to render him aid! Goes to show how they cared more about his life than he did himself.
Goes to show you have no idea what you're talking about. The man's dying, he doesn't know that these folks are trying to keep him alive. It's almost as if you didn't watch the video at all, or you're just some sort of heartless monster.
whats he got to live for? hes an older man who at the very minimum is looking at what, 15 20 years? Keeping someone alive thats got nothing left to live for is genuine torture.
The first officer that was shown, you could just tell he didn't want to have to shoot that man again but he had no choice. Officer begged him not to pick gun back up again and the man didn't listen. For those who say officers have no feelings, look at that officer and you can feel his raw emotions and see how upset he was. Police are everyday people like all of us and they do care about everyone's life. God bless those officers, keep them safe to return to families each day and God plz comfort that first officer 💙
You have to really feel for the officer here. He was literally begging the suspect to comply. My heart really dropped to hear him say "I know what comes with this" implying his life is going to totally change and many will see him as a murderer despite being totally justified in his actions.
I don't think I've ever seen police officers work so well together. They really support each other and they were awesome at trying to render aid to the guy. Very impressive.
@@GardenGuy1943 The greater question is why an entire demographic of people seem for a large part, to not only have no semblance of right or wrong, but actually feel entitled to take whatever they want without the slightest hesitation or remorse.
I feel bad for all the other patients awaiting treatment in hallway...meanwhile a criminal (who kept fighting EMT's) takes up valuable resources & gets bumped to the front of the queue. Clearly a life is a life, but I find it unfair that because of his poor judgement & actions, he ends up in the hospital taking the spot of another patient who didn't commit a crime or try to shoot at police.
Boy, do I hear what you're saying about that! Yeah, triage and all that blah blah blah. Meanwhile, some 40-year-old father of three kids who never saw the inside of a jail because he was too busy working hard to put bread on the table and taking care of his family who gets critically injured in an auto accident is pushed back in line behind this miscreant and winds up dying himself. What a world, right?
Ignorant fuсks, if he was having a panic attack (which is mostly hyperventilating) taking “deep breaths” is exactly THE WRONG thing to do!!! All emergency medical personnel needs to be trained on this! The feeling after hyperventilating for prolonged periods is like you CAN'T BREATHE, and, tragically, you try to take deeper and deeper breaths ... worsening the situation, until it feels like your chest's gonna explode, like you're having a heart attack, you're dizzy, you have "ants" going all over your skin... terrible feeling! They should have checked his oxygen level, I think, in order to ascertain DOESN't have too much oxygen! Their oxygen mask was possibly only making things worse.
@@Gunners_Mate_Guns For some reason your comment made me think of Edward Nortons character in American History X. His firefighter Father is killed while trying to help people in the bad part of town..
Great job guys. I hope the department has the resources and desire to provide whatever counseling support the first officer needs. PTSD is a very real element of this situation.
I wonder where they get that idea? Maybe libtard poiticians and DAs? That's still not enough for repaartions for something they never suffered, now they want 5 million, 92k a year and a free house. Pretty soon they will be allowed to rape your daughter as part of the deal.

Unreal.
But family let him have a gun and shoplift?

Probably has something to do with HIPA lol. Wouldn't surprise me to be honest.
Just finished my emt clinicals. I can smell the smells and feel the motion sickness of working on a patient in a speeding ambulance from this video.
I found it very comforting when Officer Meyer said "It's alright, we're both here together." at 10:38
That's something I'd like to hear after a suspect fired a .357 at me and I was trying to compose myself.
The best video from start to finish, from police to medics, thank u

These people are unbelievably disconnected from reality

@@GardenGuy1943 uh … watch the video. He put down the bags … then he had them both in one hand when he fired at the officers.
As a former paramedic having a combative patient and the bouncing around in the back of an ambulance really makes it hard to do your job. They did their best under the circumstances.
When that first officer writes in his report that he was afraid for his life, you better fricking believe it.
The worst part about this entire situation is he used a firearm to steal food. Not a car or jewelry but food. He made the fatal decision to pull out the pistol on the officers but losing your life over groceries is just terrible.
He had money to buy a gun but not for groceries, I don’t feel bad for him at all. He knew exactly what he was doing the entire time.
