    Masterfully done. The artwork is lovely, and the pedestal is nice and rigid. With the rapidly increasing popularity of these junk-yard products, it's fun to see what people are doing to make them more functional. I'm not taking mine this far, but the improvements that I've done have paid off in smoothness of operation and I hope, longevity.

    This is absolutely a work of art. You truly should consider making kits for other enthusiasts. Well Done!

      They would cost $1500 minimum. At that price point, why not just stretch a bit more and buy a modern leather sewing machine.

    Really stunned by the craftsmanship shown! Thanks for giving us the beautiful views of this patcher that it can be rebuilt. I hope one day I can have such a refurbished machine but this is just a dream !

    You could sell upgrades for the machine no problem! I told my husband it is just like someone buying and old car and making it a work of art! Beautiful job!

    You would need a machine shop to rebuild the machine I received. I don't have the equipment, but it seems like you do.

    I am receiving my machine today, yours looks great. Can I ask how you got that front cylinder brass? Did you have it plated, or use a brass brush and heat?

    Best update on this machine I've seen, real craftsmanship! Question, are the new arms forged? I've got one of these coming, but don't think I have the skills to make it this nice, but I am planning on cleaning it up some and installing some bushings, etc. Thanks for the video!

      Thank you very much! No, I do have a blacksmith shop but these are actually sawn out of stock and ground to shape on my belt sander. The finish is a heat/oil bluing. There is a guy on here (turbo conquering mega eagle) who reshaped the existing arms on his machine and they look great.

    That thing looks awesome. Question: did you use the same size of bobbin and shuttle, or you went with the larger one?
    I’m considering re-creating the bed on my machine to fit the larger bobbin and shuttle.

    • @rlndl66
      @rlndl66  Před 4 lety

      I used the original bobbin size..wish I'd thought about a larger size earlier. I might have to rethink it.

      Ok. There’s a model of chinese shoe patcher that has the larger bobbin. Once i get home i’ll look it up.
