  • Today's question is from Christine Strohmeyer. (I’ve linked to her channel below so you can follow her.)
Christine wanted to know how to paint detail with acrylics. This is one of the many common acrylic painting tips for beginners. Acrylic painting can be rewarding but frustrating at times, because acrylic paint is not as forgiving as oils. Acrylic paint can dry quickly, so it can take the right acrylic brush size and practice to learn how to paint fine details with acrylic before the paint sets. This tutorial specifically covers how to paint with acrylics on canvas. I hope this video helped you to learn how to paint details with acrylic!

This was very helpful. Please do make more such videos. What would you advise a beginner to improve their sketch to get the final painting better?

Besides doing a WHOLE LOT of practicing, I would recommend looking up some drawing exercises to help with scale and proportion. My favorite is "blind contour." This exercise would help you draw what you actually see instead of what you think you see, which is important to painting something realistic. Also, as you draw, step back from the canvas often and have your reference (photos or a person or place) easy to see to compare as you draw. Glad I could help with the video! More to come, for sure! :)

@@KeziaCarter thank you so much for replying i didn't think you would. I just started sketching by using grid lines I edited my reference photo with grid lines and then drew grid lines on canvas it seems too much work but it definitely is working. Hoping this will make my skills better someday. Your videos are very helpful. Thank you so much for the advice. Love from India ❤

@@rakshithagindam3826 Ya, the grid definitely takes more time, but the more you do drawing exercises like that it will get easier until eventually you won't need a grid at all. I'm so proud!! Most people don't want to take the time. Good luck with your art journey. :)

Your not taking about adding small details. I'm no longer listening either!

IMO, this should actually SHOW how to make details, not just talk about it.
