- Shohei Ohtani’s 25 extra-base hits are the most in a player’s first 35 games with the Los Angeles Dodgers (since at least 1901), per Sarah Langs.

If healthy, Shohei is capable of leading MLB in Wins, ERA, Strikeouts, Batting Average, Home Runs, Hits, Slugging and OPS. Just the best baseball player ever in human history.

@@dwainsellers6453the fundamentals of baseball game evolved. As well as the athletes along with the sports science. The current era pro athletes in NBA, MLB, NHL are much better in every aspects. The only thing in Babe Ruth’s era to stop Ohtani to hitting 80 homeruns is the “world war 1”
And don't forget guys, hes a pitcher in recovery 🐐

One of the best pitcher too. Hes crazy talented!

As much as I like seeing him hit I also love watching him pitch, and remember Ohtani hits better when he pitches, so next year he might have a bigger offensive season.

Of the team's 5 hits in today's game, 4 were by Otani. Otani won the match by himself! ️And let's not forget that he is a pitcher undergoing rehabilitation.
You need to count the pitching not letting runs as well, it's a team effort, player show up on different days~
I agree with everyone else's take that one person doesn't win a game, but you have to admit, watching Shohei, Max and Teo beat the Braves by themselves has been fun this series. I just hope they can do the same later in the year when it counts!

I was going to say 'I'd love to see that too, but that is just way too out there. It's impossible.' But the dude's pitched a shut out and homered twice in a DH. Guess it IS possible!
Many baseball commentators were wondering if Shohei was worth the $700 million. He's worth it. No doubt about that.

Any mvp teammates or not he plays with, he'll always be the best player of that team.
Just goes to show, Ohtani is worth the price of his contract more than any other player. Jacob DeGrom had Tommy John last year like Ohtani. Difference is, DeGrom’s in rehab this year and not playing at all. Ohtani who has DeGrom type stuff on the mound - his rehab means leading the MLB in every important offensive production stat there is. We forget - this is Ohtani’s TJ rehab season. Plus Ohtani can bring in the ratings like no other player - in his rehab season.
It’s all in the mentality!

@@Bonkotsu928 well, to win a WS, you need more than just Ohtani. The Dodgers, after Ohtani deferred a huge part of his salary, went and got Glasnow, Yamamoto, and Hernandez. They also signed one year contracts with Walker Buehler, Dustin May, Ryan Yarbrough, Gavin Lux, Will Smith, Evan Philips, Caleb Ferguson, Alex Vesia and others to balance their team. All these acquisitions led them to where they are now.
