- This lesson is all about being a one-man/woman-band on the harmonica. It helped me more than almost any technique I ever learned. I hope it does the same for you. To get the most out of this lesson, grab your C harmonica and jam along.

As a raw rank beginner this has been the single best lesson on where to get started of any of the several videos that I've watched on CZcams. Exactly what I was looking for.
This is the exact kind of lessons ive been searching so long for. YES i'm excited.
Your lessons are the best harmonica lessons I've ever found in youtube, serious, I am finally starting to learn. Greeting from brazil!
Thank you JP! Slowly but surely, I'm moving along. Planning to go to your retreat this coming February. I'm excited and can't wait!
Thanks JP! Have taken your Harmonic lessons, and Uke series. Your harmonica playing on the Uke lessons made it extra fun. Now time to start your blues lessons. Thanks so much for teaching us this cool instrument!
I am a beginner and found this lesson very good, thank you ! and off course I wish you a very happy 50th birthday too !
Yes now I feel I am beginning to play blues !

great lesson i'm just starting to play on the harmonica and it helps me a lot thanks
Hi JP, I have taken up the harmonica at the age of 78 and found your lessons on You Tube. I have found your method of teaching easy to follow. However, I went through a period when I got frustrated with myself at not hitting the notes correctly no matter how hard I tried. I stopped playing for a few days and then started again and suddenly I was hitting those notes (although still as a beginner). Thanks for sending me those emails to get me started. Best Wishes and Merry Christmas Philip Walls
Right on Phillip. You are amazing, my friend! Rock on!

Really helpfull man! best of wishes and keep it up!
Happy birthday jp. Ifound this lesson so interesting and simple to follow it renewed my interest.thanks a lot.regards ian b.
Hey Ian! When you said it "renewed your interest", that totally made my day. I know I'm not the best harmonica player or teacher in the world but if I can put a harmonica spark in someone like yourself I know it will naturally lead you to other great harmonica teachers.... or just to follow your own inspiration.
Absolutely amazing more please......can you do some different rhythms 👍
this lesson is incredible !..what I've needed to ' make sense-music from ' the bits and pieces I've seen so far, on Net. Excellent instruction methods...
YES!!! I'm so dang glad it's helpful. I wasn't sure if the "low quality" production was going to fly. Keep developing your rhythm and lead harmonica playing in this way. I promise it will pay off.
Good stuff! Thanks for the video!
Thank you those few lessons have taught me a lot👍
Glad to hear that!
Happy Birthday mate. Good simple stuff to build on. Keep it coming.
Okay Keith. You're the second person who's encouraging me to keep it coming so I'm getting excited to make another one for you soon.
Just listened and learned, keep it coming.
Definitely another video. I am a beginner and need to lear lots. Thanks.

Hi JP! I would love to learn some lead harmonica riffs, and I hope you will show us! Anyway, thank you for this awesome lesson. Happy harpin'
Okay. Now your the third person to ask for lead riffs. I might just have to add this to my interview with Joe Filisko tomorrow and get some of his ideas. Hang tight Em!
Thank you so much! I forgot about my harmonica! Can't wait to learn
Haha.
That would be awesome JP!
Sweet. I just edited the next video and I will upload it soon.
really very instuctive/ veramente molto istruttivo
i used to observed your throat when you blow and draw, that adds me to, when i make a mistake when using my harmonica, specially long draw and bending.
Super technique!
THANKS
Dank u wel!
ur great keep it up!!
Thanks Armen! You too. And keep riding you "badass". : )
awesome! guess i got homework. looking forward to the next lesson!
Okay Steven. I get lazy sometimes but if I don't get that follow up video to you soon Steven give me a nudge. How's you're homework coming?
good beginner lesson JP!
Thanks so much. I'm glad you like it.
Great lesson. Would love some lead tutorials too
Okay David. Will do. I'll get that to you ASAP.
Would absolutely love 4 U to do a Video entitled; "Begining Leads 4 Intermediate Harp"Videos, thanks a bunch, Josh
Terrific lesson JP. when you play this style of blues, are you essentially staying in the I chord?
YES! YES! YES!!!! I wish I had shared that with the other students Larry on the video. I have a system for playing through the entire 12 bar blues using rhythm and maybe that would be a good lesson to share someday. What do you think?
Ahhh.....Playin' with myself. call/response...Bravo!!!
Sweet.
When your teaching this the sound of your harmonica doesant sound anything like mine lol 😂 are you using a microphone all is it me not doing it right 😢
Hey Darrin - it sounds like JP's harmonica in this video is overdriving the microphone so that it sounds distorted. So, no he is not using a mic when he's playing, but the video mic is clipping when he plays, and so that's why it has that badass dirty tone that sounds so different from when your harmonica when you play along. Hope that helps!
Aloha,
Luke
Yes please give some lead notes please please please ju the best JP
Yes lead harp AWESOME
Cool.
harmonica must keep you young bc you look great for 50+
Happy Birthday mate. Good simple stuff to build on. Keep it coming.
Okay Keith. Thanks for encouraging me. I need that sometimes.
