Something that recently occurred to me. What if the antagonist is an ACTUAL Rose Quartz? Given that Rose was actually Pink Diamond, what little we know about any actual Rose Quartz' may be rather inaccurate. Though honestly she doesn't seem like your average Quartz shape.
I belieave it's a morganite according to jtv morganite is used to replace diamonds since it's just as reflective with really nice fire so that might be why she is so strong shes probably part of pink diamonds court and trying to replace her with that diamond injector

My theory after watching the trailer is: With the new gem, we can see she is using a type of drill to destroy all life on earth and we have all learnt that gems used drills to make new gems and the consequences are that life is destroyed. My theory is that this new gem does not like what Steven/ pink diamond is doing for the colony's and wants to create a new better diamond so that everything will go back to normal. This gem would choose earth to make the diamond since she knows Steven treasures the earth and would love to see him suffer. Just think about it the diamonds are huge so I would not be surprised if it a whole planet of life for them to be made.
My theory is that that is how a diamond is formed, they are from a while planet drained. I think she was part of pinks colonie, and wants to make a replacement
SLIM SAM BAM I am assuming you are talking about the villain of the movie and if I am correct I would have a different theory for her if she was corrupted. It would be that she is upset with the diamonds since many of her comrades were shattered and she feels she did all this hard work for nothing. She is especially mad at pink diamond since she started the war just because she wanted to protect the earth, she could feel betrayed and now she thinks she will avenge her comrades by finishing off what they had started, destroying the earth. And she might even think she won't be punished since home world has gone so down hill and probably think her punishment would be happy go lucky since all the diamonds have gone soft.

I feel as if it’s a fail “Replacement” Pink diamond that Yellow May have made for Blue. She hated seeing Blue in constant agony, and thought that creating a more mature yet funny replacement would fix all their issues. It’d make sense cause this character reflects all of the diamonds, the under eye bags from Blue, the combat skills from Yellow and the lack of empathy for others White. This character reflects the Diamonds ideals whilst still trying to have Pinks humour and childish ness to her. What I think happened to this character is Yellow would’ve shown Blue and/or White and both decided it was a failure and now this character has problems, that Steven came out of no where and was accepted whilst she was rejected so quickly.

No it wouldn't. It's been stated, rather clearly, multiple times, that fusion isn't a metaphor for sex or romance. Fusion between characters in SU, stands as a metaphor for the various types of relationships that exist: Platonic, Familial, Sexual, Abusive, Symbiotic, etc.
When Steven says he’s saving their planets, I think he’s referring to the planets of certain gems origins. Like how the Famythest are considered Earth gems by Holly Blue Agate.
Maybe the megainjector is actually just making the earth a massive kindergarten? If she was made with the intent to fix pink's flaws, it'd probably not be a stretch to think she's trying to finally finish her colony. Edit: also, looks like a virus moreso than other injectors. Who knows, maybe in that big pink gem on top is some gem rna or something.

I was thinking that the new fusion would be Steven and Greg because of the scene where they are both playing instrument even in the most deadly situation showing their love for each other. But a Peridot and Lapis fusion would be cool too.
Peridot and Lapis is a given at this point. I'm most interested in another gem/human fusion... maybe steven and a majority of beach city or even his dad? That damn guitar part got me hoping
They said there is going to be a new fusion. Steven and Connie can fuse because Steven healed her. The nanites or whatever it is that Steven uses to heal things is the key to this. Steven also healed his Dad... When they're playing guitar together you can see the rips in Steven's jacket. He's already been fighting. The gems are poofed and Connie is away somewhere, and Steven needs help. He needs to power up. Them playing those guitars together is their version of a fusion dance. The light coming out of that warehouse.... MR. Universe....
Obvious fact not mentioned in the video: Steven's voice has changed, indicating puberty is working on his body. And most folks, at least in the USA, will get Labor Day off of work. It is a federal holiday, after all.
One of the biggest themes in Steven Universe is growing up and moving on, along with change. What if in season 6, one of the biggest things to change or move on will be Greg? Moving on from Rose? It's been nearly 17 years, so what if he finally wanted to stop being a widower and starts dating again? Even Pearl took a chance to shoot her shot with Mystery Girl, and she spent millennia with Rose. Maybe it's Greg's turn, and maybe people wouldn't be okay with that, at least initially. But maybe it's time, maybe he's ready
I know this is a stretch but what if Steven is struggling to use his floating powers so he quickly thinks of something to make him happy so he thinks about Connie 🥺🥺
Question 1: will Steven finally get his harem? Question 2: will Steven kill this enemy? Question 3: will Steven fuse with lapis peridot and or bismuth?

Cool new villain, advancements in their lives, Steven-Connie relationship (which better remain cute and pleasant and not go over the top with breakups and junk), plus a musical score that will be promising. CAN'T WAIT.
They've kinda already been through the "break-up" routine back when Steven came back to Earth and Connie was upset, and they patched things up. So with that out of the way, I think we're safe from it happening again. And more importantly, it would very hard to pull another break up with Connie and Steven, considering their relationship with each other, without going out of character. So in theory, everything should be smooth and cute.

new fusion?!?! 2 year timeskip = LAPIDOT FUSION EDIT: It has been said (I think by Rebecca Sugar if I remember) that Lapis needed TIME to recover from the Malachite incident before she was ready to fuse with someone. Peridot ALSO needed time to aCCEPT fusion as something that's normal, that's GREAT. And 2 years is not much time to beings who's lifespan crosses centuries or more, but a lot CAN happen in 2 years between people who care about eachother like Lapis and Peri do. Either we'll get a Lapidot Fusion or the new fusion will be Steven with Bismuth/Lapis/Peri. That's my theory.

@@futuristicnm9011 well if it's a 2 year timeskip that MIGHT be enough time for Lapis It's Lapis who needs the time after the Malachite incident. Peridot also needed time to adjust to fusion being acceptable and again, a lot can happen in 2 years even for beings like gems to whom 2 years is the blink of an eye in a centuries-long lifespan.
Isn’t peridot supposed to be the token asexual rep (because of the whole Not Being Into Fusion thing)? For a show that focuses on representation so heavily that would kind of be a lame choice on their part.
What if Steven falls in the pink ooze takes in all of the ooze and turns into the “pink diamond”Steven because it both takes out some more of his human form and combing him with the ooze later coming out of the the new restored beach city like a reboot for Stevens form .......probably not gonna happen though

My theory after watching the trailer is:
With the new gem, we can see she is using a type of drill to destroy all life on earth and we have all learnt that gems used drills to make new gems and the consequences are that life is destroyed.
My theory is that this new gem does not like what Steven/ pink diamond is doing for the colony's and wants to create a new better diamond so that everything will go back to normal. This gem would choose earth to make the diamond since she knows Steven treasures the earth and would love to see him suffer.

the diamonds are huge so I would not be surprised if it a whole planet of life for them to be made.
My theory is that that is how a diamond is formed, they are from a while planet drained. I think she was part of pinks colonie, and wants to make a replacement

SLIM SAM BAM I am assuming you are talking about the villain of the movie and if I am correct I would have a different theory for her if she was corrupted. It would be that she is upset with the diamonds since many of her comrades were shattered and she feels she did all this hard work for nothing. She is especially mad at pink diamond since she started the war just because she wanted to protect the earth, she could feel betrayed and now she thinks she will avenge her comrades by finishing off what they had started, destroying the earth.
And she might even think she won't be punished since home world has gone so down hill and probably think her punishment would be happy go lucky since all the diamonds have gone soft.

I feel as if it’s a fail “Replacement” Pink diamond that Yellow May have made for Blue. She hated seeing Blue in constant agony, and thought that creating a more mature yet funny replacement would fix all their issues. It’d make sense cause this character reflects all of the diamonds, the under eye bags from Blue, the combat skills from Yellow and the lack of empathy for others White. This character reflects the Diamonds ideals whilst still trying to have Pinks humour and childish ness to her.
What I think happened to this character is Yellow would’ve shown Blue and/or White and both decided it was a failure and now this character has problems, that Steven came out of no where and was accepted whilst she was rejected so quickly.

One of the biggest themes in Steven Universe is growing up and moving on, along with change. What if in season 6, one of the biggest things to change or move on will be Greg? Moving on from Rose? It's been nearly 17 years, so what if he finally wanted to stop being a widower and starts dating again? Even Pearl took a chance to shoot her shot with Mystery Girl, and she spent millennia with Rose. Maybe it's Greg's turn, and maybe people wouldn't be okay with that, at least initially. Cool new villain, advancements in their lives, Steven-Connie relationship (which better remain cute and pleasant and not go over the top with breakups and junk), plus a musical score that will be promising. CAN'T WAIT.
They've kinda already been through the "break-up" routine back when Steven came back to Earth and Connie was upset, and they patched things up.
So with that out of the way, I think we're safe from it happening again.
And more importantly, it would very hard to pull another break up with Connie and Steven, considering their relationship with each other, without going out of character.
So in theory, everything should be smooth and cute.

EDIT: It has been said (I think by Rebecca Sugar if I remember) that Lapis needed TIME to recover from the Malachite incident before she was ready to fuse with someone.
Peridot ALSO needed time to aCCEPT fusion as something that's normal, that's GREAT.
And 2 years is not much time to beings who's lifespan crosses centuries or more, but a lot CAN happen in 2 years between people who care about eachother like Lapis and Peri do.
Either we'll get a Lapidot Fusion or the new fusion will be Steven with Bismuth/Lapis/Peri. That's my theory.

It's Lapis who needs the time after the Malachite incident. Peridot also needed time to adjust to fusion being acceptable and again, a lot can happen in 2 years even for beings like gems to whom 2 years is the blink of an eye in a centuries-long lifespan.
