    Genius breakdown of the two licks to show the player how to “land the correct notes” in time and how they fit over each chord in the progression. Great Job!🙌🏻🙌🏻🍎

    I can pull off most standard blues playing but Albert Collins' style eludes me a bit, which is why he's my favorite blues guitarist. Nicely done.

    While the choices are simple, the attitude in these phrases is the hardest part for me to nail. I feel insecure while playing and I have a soft touch - I practice kind of avoiding making noise imagine that. It takes a while for me to work up to going for sounds like these, and hearing them in isolation like in this lesson is something that inspires me and gives me a base line of sorts. Like, "if I can sound like that it's cool", so it'd be ok to be a little louder than normal.

      Blues is all emotion. Play your moods. Evoke pain, sadness or joy...in your notes.

      @coreycongilio  Před 2 lety +1

      Making sounds or bad noises is like falling off your bike when you're learning to ride. Takes years to refine your sound...don't be too tough on yourself.

      @@coreycongilio thank you for taking the time to reply. Your instructional videos here and a truefire course I got really inspired me to get back to the guitar. I had all but given up on learning to play, but when I saw some of your videos and thought “hey, that’s fun, I think I just might be able to do that”, it really brought me back and gave that nice feeling of discovery and reward and passion. I think I progressed a lot due to your instructional work. So thank you, really.

    I loved this! One thing you always mention in your videos, but haven't dived into is rhythmic phrasing.. how maybe you could take the same lick as you did and switch up the rhythm to fit all kinds of blues, a slow one to a more uptempo shuffle, etc. Keep it up :)
