Nice build 👍🏽I built a 03 kx125 this summer it was my first all out build I road legalised it it’s a fun bike it handles well an goes very well for what it is
I started a 03 kx125 build around 6 months ago. If I had known the 03 was a bastard year bike, I would have found an 04 or 05. Having issues with a couple of the 03 oem parts that have been discontinued.
Nice build mate I’m building a 2003 125 on my channel what’s happening with front pipe not fixed on ? I struggled to find a pc front pipe and have also got the same problem
Bike looks great but my biggest complaint would be doing the JS replica. It’s been done a buzzillion times. Change out those graphics and it would be epic.
Yeah that’s fair, I just was such a fan of that era of JS7 that I really wanted to do a bike for him but with some modern touches! Each to their own though 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Im Doing Some Research Into Building/Restoring One Of These 2-Strokes From A Bare Frame. So I Grew Up In The 80s/90s Always Wanting One Of These, But The 80s Models Are Just A Bit Too Old Now. Ive Set A Minimum Of (1990 Upto Early 2000s).. I Want To Know If Theres Any Particular (Years To Avoid) Because Of Parts Being Too Rare Or Difficult To Come By? Or Particular Years Where They Maybe Share Some Parts With Other Years, OR Parts Are Super Easy To Come By? So What Year Frame Should I Buy To Get This Project Going??? (Any Advice Greatly Appreciated)
Avoid the the 03, I think there’s quite a few parts in the engine that are specific to the 03, 04 and 05 share much more of the same parts in the engine and they made the kx125 all the way up to 08 they just stopped selling them in 05 in The US but there are a couple of em around
I swear I feel like a teenage boy that just sneaked into a dirty movie theater............hehe! I run the 04' KX 125 stock (apart from the Ricky renthal 971 bend bars) the 04 and up is considered a revised bike and sometime refered to as a version 2. There are only two guys in all of Kyushu (western Japan) that ride the version 2.............I am one of them. I ride number 0 (Kami no ko bike)
Oh, good work on the wheel truing there, I have only trued downhill mountain bike wheels. I wouldn't be surprised if we have both read the book on doing so, (what you do to one side, you do to the other side right....................
only 400 subs with such high quality videos?
gotta bump those numbers up
I appreciate that legend! It’s a work in progress 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Yeah me too! Fortunately the parts I needed were accessible! Good luck with the build legend!

2003 was a once off year shape so no one has the right pipe, a lot of guys myself included just ran an 04 pipe and got a mount made up!
lov kx
I want to do bike machine job 😮

Where did u find the bare works pipe? All I see are chrome pc pipes.
At the end when your twisting the throttle I think I saw some exhaust leak out the front. Maybe have a small leak where the pipe meets the cylinder.
The pipe was for the wrong model so it was just sitting on so I could start it! New pipe was bolted up and no more leaks haha!

Front fender looks like it’s sticking up too much in the front. I wonder if it’s mounted correctly?
Yeah maybe you’re right. Good spotting!
How much does a whole build cost
This build including the bike would’ve been around $10k without paying for any labour!
😍

Yeah it’s just about being patient with the trueing! CZcams university can be very helpful at times 😂
Why lectron no smartcarb
Lectron wanted to partner up and I’m so stoked we did! The bike ran awesome with it!
Pipe is not bolted on 😉
It was the pipe from the next year, had to do what we could with what we had until the new pipe got in!
