@@SuperPaperMarioMovieGuy uh no spm is a game, not a movie, the gameplay isn't even that bad, just think of it as a 2d mario side-scroller(like smb3 or world) with a paper mario story
In my opinion, one of the most emotional moments in Mario history in my opinion, and also one of the best stories ever written in a Video Game in my opinion.
@@weegeeismad9298 SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING OF SUPER PAPER MARIO (but then again it's like 10 years old) They reunited at last... but they have to sacrifice themselves to save all worlds. Their friends might never see them again... but all we know is that Timpani and Blumiere are happy, wherever they are.
"I already got my wish. Now...I have everything I need right here" Those words are so beautiful... Love is such a wonderful thing... No I'm not crying...I just have tears in my eyes
Just like Anakin with Padmé with the “no, it’s because I’m so in love with you” Revenge of the Sith. When they fully turned evil, what they wanted the most, was their Love, not revenge.
Just played through the game for the first time, and I can't believe everything. The 3D puzzles, the pixil puzzles, and the plot twist with dementio and Bowser and peach saving O'Chunks and Mimi. And timpani and Blumiere being revealed as actual characters hidden in plain sight. I'll cherish this game for life. The ending is stuck with me forever. So sweet!!
I remember when I was little and playing this game. Only about nine and I didn’t pay attention to the story line at all. All I knew was ‘Defeat goombas and save princess.’ Years later, I got back to this and was completely shunned by the amazing story that I never saw.
3:44 I like to think that Bleck was so ravaged by emotions that he created a chaos heart and straight up destroyed his own world. The thing about that is when he got the true chaos heart he didn’t immediately destroy all worlds and chose to let the worlds watch as it slowly crept closer. I believe that when Blumiere became Count Bleck he subconsciously held a thread of hope that Tipi still existed and he would find her before it was to late. He of course was still following the dark prognosis but it never said anything about if he ever saw her again. I think the DP was correct because all worlds were destroyed but were restored, the book ends after the destruction of all worlds so if CB were to survive in a dimension that differed from his own he could perhaps find her, perhaps that’s why he accepted dimento into his ranks. But that’s just my theory, a game theory.
Whenever I first played this, I thought Blumiere was kind of overreacting to destroy the universe over a fallen spouse, but as an adult I can honestly say I would do something that stupid if I could if it happened to me. I feel like Blumiere was not only seeking revenge on his father by doing something he knew would completely horrify him, but he also wanted to destroy it because he not only felt like his world was destroyed, but he also blamed not just his father, but the world for what happened to Timpani. He probably felt like his father was corrupted by the world which is what caused his racist viewpoints. Therefore, he blamed the world for his father's actions. He was lashing out not just for revenge, but he likely felt like the Dark Prognasticus was giving him a sense of purpose. And it probably helped him to bury his negative emotions into an alter ego that he could gain from the Dark Prognasticus.
I think it was mainly the fact that the Dark Prognosticus corrupted Blumiere’s mind and that he wasn’t entirely himself at that point was what ultimately influenced and led him into wanting to destroy all worlds, not just because of his father or him losing Timpani. Had he not opened the Dark Prognosticus, he may have still found all worlds to be meaningless and pointless, but I don’t think he would have gone as far as wanting to destroy them.
This game reminded me sort of Harry Potter - a Prophecy, an evil dark lord, a wise old man who has all the answers, Merlon (Dumbledore), even 7 "horcruxes" (pure hearts) and a chosen one who could stop it all (Mario). Tipi and Count Bleck's love story broke me. These cut scenes were woven so well in the story of the game and you could see flashes of the real Timpani and Blumiere and how they came to be - Tipi blasted from her world and human form and transformed into a Pixel by Merlon and Blumiere being driven to madness and heartbreak enough to turn to the Dark Prognosticus. Truly enthralling and breathtaking storytelling.
Um... That ONE SPM fan? There are plenty more of us, don't you worry. I love this story. In fact, I have a self illustrated version entitled "The Tragedy of Blumiere and Timpani" which shows all these lines, along with original drawings of the memory scenes. I love SPM too, so enjoyed this video!

When people think of Mario, they think of the original platform games, where Mario's goal is just to save the Princess. When we ask someone what Paper Mario is, if they know a little bit, they'll remember and say it's an RPG series. When I was younger I just wanted to play the game without knowing anything about the story. The game isn't just about jumping and running, it's about understanding everything that happened for the world to get to this point. This game deserves more fame.
I think Blumiere may have fallen from that cliff in the beginning on purpose. Once he loses Timpani he sees life as devoid of meaning, and aims to erase everything from existence. Maybe he didn't have a will to life before meeting her. Just a thought
If only they could have shown actual pictures during these moments because I would have liked to known what Bleck and Tippi looked like before the events of Super Paper Mario.
Bleck mightve looked like how he did in the game somewhat or at least dressed like he did in the game as shown in the post credits scene so they probably didn't want to risk spoiling the surprise too soon
I did the same. Yet the finale filled me with such melancholy. I didn't know the lengths they went through to find peace within there love. All i knew was this wasn't a funny scene nor irrelevant one. Music and character posing goes a long way
They should go back and remaster this as an RPG, then it will literally be the best PM game. I... for once, completely understand how you feel. I can relate and honestly, I feel kinda bad for you. Hang in there... every Timpani deserves a Blumiere... you'll find yours, just as I may find my own Timpani one day. Don't stop believing, Jassy uwu.

This is my favorite game of all time. I swear, if this game had the gameplay aspects of ttyd it would've been a masterpiece. Such an incredible story and game stuck with mediocre gameplay :(
The one thing I fear is that the effects of Timpani's curse might be way more powerful than the mortal plane... That even if she dies she would be forced to continue drifting across the space-time landscape for eternity... Man, and the fact that Blumiere cannot follow her trail even into the afterlife sections just shattered his soul and corrupted it to the point where he cannot take living anymore and seeks to desecrate everything, including himself forever...
