  • From everywhere we’ve traveled to so far, Barcelona, Spain, was the destination city that you all were most excited for, but we sadly hit Barcelona with a string of unfortunate events. Despite the rocky start, we had the grandest time touring Spain's world-famous Sagrada Familia and filling our stomachs with more delightful Spanish food. We will certainly be making our way back to Barcelona in the future for a redemption trip, and maybe next time, we will catch some sunnier days! 🇪🇸

If an Airbnb is ever misrepresented, take pictures and immediately leave. Message both the host (through Airbnb) and Airbnb themselves about the situation. Ask for a full refund and don’t let them cancel the reservation because then you can’t leave a review and warn others about the property. I’m sorry you guys had a string of misfortunes. That can be so rough while traveling. Hopefully the pendulum will swing the other way soon! Safe travels!

Not only are you visiting all the cities I'm passionate about, not only do you both have great taste and attractively groovy vibes but most importantly you just seem like authentically good people in a healthy relationship and with the way the world is these days it's a breath of fresh air frankly. Chad and Claire, I was so touched by your hardship story, Claire had a fever and horrible Airbnb experience at the 14 minutes mark. Yet against all odds you did your best. This is truly Magnificent, Beautiful and a Master Piece. This is the best travel video I ever saw. The buildings/architecture in Barcelona are majestic. Sagrada Familia was amazing.
Your video reminds me the Korean Drama “Memories of Alhambra” which filmed there in Spain and Granada. But your video is much better. I love the new theme “rom-com” and Spanish music.
The food your had it looks so delicious. And the cinematography and drone shots is out of this world. Even though you faced hardship; however you have shown the best side of human being and shown us the very best travel experience and with your broad smile it really lights up my day. Thank you Chad and Claire for being REAL in sharing your life and travel with us. Keep up the great job and take your health and be safe.
You must have esp. you had calamari and baby squid, just made squid with bean curd slice and celery and just upload a new video “Winning Recipe for Squid (game)” and hope you like it.

Hi guys! i'm from Barcelona and it's so sad you had such a bad experience with the airbnb and the weather! i recommend to visit in spring / autumn months, when temperatures are soft and rain is weird to see hehehe ( not in summer like right now, temperature are super high and humidity is gross haha)
Another think i want to mention: places you'd showed where you eat are such a touristic places, what that means lower quality food for higher prices as you were eating next to touristic place ( la Boquería, etc). Talking about food, the white sauce in patatas bravas is called allioli what literally translates to " garlic and oil" but in those touristic places they serve like a mayoinaisse with some kind of garlic flavour that has nothing to do with real allioli. That "bocadillo" yo ate, is not a typicall bocadillo here. We eat bocadillos with another bread not burger bread! and that "Pulpo a la gallega" well..it's usually served in slices over a boiled potato... just to clarify :)
Keep with the greta work you do and keep travelling! i hope you can come back to Barcelona in the future and have better impresions :D

I spent Thanksgiving in Barcelona as well! 3rd time on Barcelona for me and I still haven't gotten to Park Guell... I always do Sagrada Familia tho, cuz the place is just awe inspiring!
I've spent nearly 2mos in Barcelona over the yrs and will absolutely be going back. There is just soooo much to see n do and its a different city depending on the season. The beaches in the summer, the Christmas markets in the winter... Planning another trip next yr. I generally do ok w/ AB&B but I have a few rules. Always get a balcony or patio, 80% of the spaces will at least have a Juliet balcony so you'll be guaranteed light. I always book a private bathroom. I always book some place on the outskirts of city center - not too far - but not El Born, Raval, or Barri Gotic. Usually Fort Pienc or Eixample. Here's the catch: always within a 5min walk to the metro. I had great weather when I visited at the end of September in 2019, the middle of May was as rainy as the end of November so... Take ur pick. 💕🥰

As a nurse, I strongly recommend that you try to balance your stress levels, as stress will definitely lower your immune system and make you vulnerable to illness. Remember SCAD, in the dorms during exams when many got sick? That's the stress, and travel can get stressful. Just don't sweat the day-to-day BS of travel - go with it, so to speak, and don't stress too much over money. You can of course, also keep your immune system strong by getting enough sleep, taking Vitamin D, B12, and zinc. As for the content, we are here to share time with you, so whatever you decide to do will make us happy. Personally, it does not matter whether I see you enjoying a luxury resort or sharing a hostel with 25 other people who snore and pass gas all night long. It is the joy and love you both have for travel, for yourselves, and for others that I am here for.

    • @ChadandClaire
      @ChadandClaire  Před 2 lety

Hey George! Thanks for the advice and knowledge about stress. It is wild to think about how many people would get sick during finals at SCAD. Next time you visit Barcelona, make sure to inform yourselves about monuments and food. That bravas sauce is allioli, a typical catalan sauce. The Sagrada Familia is a BASILICA, not a cathedral. That "Spanish toast" is not Spanish, is Catalan again (pa amb tomàquet). Parc Güell has free zones at certain times, you just need to research better.
Be mindful about other cultures. By saying everything is Spanish, you are erasing the Catalan culture.

The type of music you chose is not native to barcelona nor catalunya. Its andalucian. Flamenco is definitely not part of our culture

Barcelona It’s not Spain. We Don’t feel spanish. We feel catalan people.

Very disappointed with this vlog. Unlike in the one on the Basque Country, you didn’t talk at all about our own catalan language, culture and INDEPENDENT history. Just a general video about the same generic spanish traditions wich aren’t even our own. Too bad you couldn’t see beyond the spanish colonization courtain. Two generic tourists in my city. FREEDOM FOR CATALONIA!

Yawn. Foreigners can’t tell the difference between Spanish Tapas and Catalonian tapas.
      It’s hardly THAT different.

Can you talk a little bit more about this? I am visiting Barcelona next month and I don’t want to look stupid or offend any locals when I am there.
