Honestly Nene made Atlanta, she was the backbone of the entire franchise.

They both left and it was just fine. Infact it was their second coming that the show started dwindling, around season 10.

Without question! Shame on Andy and Bravo executives for their discriminatory practices against NeNe and the other ladies of color. I hope she's able to receive full compensation along with an apology, followed by reinstatement on RHOA, or her own show.
Absolutely, but she was also responsible for the ratings slipping too. Her last season had fans completely tiring of her antics and her diva mentality. There wasn't one cast member that year, that she didn't attack, disrespect and treat badly. Making Atlanta housewives number one for so many years, could have been her legacy, but instead, NeNe has become the poster child for what NOT TO DO, when you're on top of the world and you let your ego get the best of you!!
Nene get out of your head! The people love you and your star power is unmatched. Give us the vlogs, podcasts, fashion buy reviews, a nice lil closet sale, interviews, if you cook give us that too.. All of it!! The people will support 💕💕

Ne Ne deserves her OWN SHOW! That is what she earned and wants. She is great television. Millions stopped watching RHOA when she left. I definitely did.

Nene is the type to yell from the rooftops to keep it real, but when people keep it real with her, she goes into victim mode. She also forgets to mention that she came for Kandi in Season 2 and tried to get Cynthia fired from the show. Nene can't look at herself objectively. She was a nightmare towards the end, and the other cast members know it. She still can't keep Cynthia and Kandi out her mouth.
I'd always heard that NeNe was responsible for recruiting the original cast of RHOA, but I never knew the details. This was truly enlightening.
She pioneered a lot of things that bravo and many other networks now use!! She created the “Reunion” and get zero created for it she also picked Andy to be the host of it Andy worked in the offices of bravo behind the scene.. not on the scene like he is..NeNe basically made him a Ryan Secrest

Where Nene messed up she sued and ran her mouth to the wrong people about the wrong things. She should have moved in silence. Now she is blackballed. I wish Nene would let it go and continue in the industry where she can cause being back on Bravo is dead.

I LOVE BETHANYS STYLE OF INTERVIEWING! She really cuts to the chase and ask detailed questions while pulling detailed answers from her guests. Also if a person gives a vague answer, she doesn’t let it go until she gets a CLEAR answer! Loved NeNe’s transparency as well! Great interview!

I hollered when NeNe said," Teresa can go to prison for 10 years and they will wait until she gets back." As an Atlanta native, I love NeNe. Black women are the most unprotected and disrespected group of people in society. That's what makes us resilient and strong.
I digress my Dear Lady. Black women not being protected, have made most of us wear the "Strong Black Woman" cape, while Trauma has messed a good amount of us. We had to be resilient and strong from the time our ancestors (females) were raped and beating by the Master. I have totally dropped the Stong Black woman facade I carried around for years.
Unprotected..how so? Disrespect may come from a certain behavior that’s exuded.

Nene is really such a talented storyteller. I don’t even think she fully realizes it, but her authenticity and delivery is really really good. She also still seems really normal and somewhat level after all the stuff. I’m happy for her, I wish more high level things for her because she’s entertaining.

I love that Nene is bringing up the racial disparity because as someone who’s black, as a community that is black that has watched all of these franchises and have noticed the differences in treatment and has noticed Andy’s direct treatment in interviews, on the show …etc with Women of color. I met Nene at a Meet & Greet in Nashville and she was SO sweet, we actually ended up ending the conversation and walking away because we felt bad for the line behind us. She genuinely wanted to know everyone who came to see her ❤

The only way we would be getting a truth is if both sides of the argument were involved in this conversation. Let's keep it real, there is a bit of a disgruntled worker bias going on right now, that's not really proportionately representative of the now over 150 housewives (not including additional bravo talent) - most of whom are no longer even associated with the network, and would be able to talk without repercussion. Second, the income these women generated in a couple short years is equivalent to SEVERAL LIFETIMES of working class income - the bulk of the population who face far more problematic working conditions and experience a far lower quality of life/health as a result. The real reason these women like Nene stuck around for so long is because this gig is better than literally any other in today's job market comparatively. Come on people - this is not where worker reform needs prioritization right now!

As someone who’s husband died from cancer last year, hearing nene talk about the closet scene breaks my heart. I can definitely understand what she was going through that day. They were dead wrong.
My condolences to you, but Nene's behavior that day was uncalled for. Listen, making excuses for Leakes is wrong...she was and still is her own worst enemy.

@@gayleholmes9081 well my comment was about that day, that incident. As someone who went through what she went through, and also lost her husband. I will “defend” her actions that day. There have been plenty of days where the tiniest thing would set me off when I was watching my husband fight cancer. So again, in THIS incident, they were in the wrong not her. Especially when she told what was going on and they still made her film.
Nene should start a podcast recapping all the housewives shows... People would live for that!

Nene needs a better agent and team to represent her. She needs to find a really intelligent agent that can speak for her so she can just do what she loves, which is be an actress. I’m rooting for her! 😊

Every time Bethenny does a housewives interview, I end up shocked by how much I come away with such admiration, respect, empathy and grace for women who eventually became some of my least favorite HWs in the franchise. Bethenny has a way of allowing them to reveal the true side of themselves that we could not enjoy during their housewife tenure. I now realize that much of their toxic behaviors were induced by the toxic environment Bravo created. I actually feel ashamed for judging both Jill and Nene as harshly as I eventually did. I swear, Bethenny is the HW whisperer. I just pray that she never gets an epiphany to interview Erica Gerardi, Lisa Rinna, Kelly Bensimon , or Teresa Guidice because I'm fully invested in always disliking them, lol.
Can you imagine her interviewing Kelly? OMG 😂!

I've never cried so hard watching a podcast. Nene you are remarkable. Its sad that the other sistas on the show didnt do the right thing and stand by you. Had they of done that you wouldnt be in this position either. When it comes to our community strength in numbers do the most work. Nene is obviously been Blacklisted due to her attempts to recieve equal pay and equal treatment. Tale as old as time. Bethenney who has also been my favorite housewife kudos to her for being a true ally. Black women need more Bethenneys in this world. B you did the damn thing. Absolutely phenomenal. Why not start your own B strong network. Id pay double of what I pay for peacock streaming. Anyhow! Agreed as a mixed black man formerly in the industry, I can attest to exactly what she is saying. I don’t feel it’s the same anymore but we had to change what our younger counterparts get now. It’s nothing like we had to suffer anymore but we did it , with stride and pride. It may exist still but not how it was coming up in the 2013’s !
Get new careers or new jobs...or start your own...its time to stop complaining and being victims. It's YOUR life. Change it

The fact that they got past the MEAT of it all & showed us the BONE...2 grown women despite the cultural background or differences coming together to discuss the commonality of what they experienced. & I ABSOLUTELY LOVED how Bethany showed up for NeNe like a big sister & said YOU GOT THIS GIRL... I was a little taken back by Bethany interview skills but once I understood the assignment I wasn't mad! Bethany asked all the questions we wanted to know and was not biased! That was refreshing to see! Bethany might be the real new deal in reporting and journalism! Some what abrasive but effective!
Nee-Nee would make a great talkshow host! She is so eloquent! I've ALWAYS loved her but now i love her even more knowing her story and it's clearly genuine. Saying she was facinated by Kim at the gym made it real. She's not putting on airs at all. I think Bethanny was the perfect interviewer for her to be comfortable and can relate/expand on how Bravo treats different women on the different franchises. They both have been my favorites since the beginning! Loved this episode, so much!!

I love Bethenny she’s a strong and wise businesswoman. I felt like she gave NENE motivation and support during this interview. I hope NENE will be able to get through this.
Nene barely spoke. Bethany needs some classes on learning how to keep quiet. She cut off Nene way too much. It was awful

The fact that she discussed Kim in this interview and not one negative thing was said, shows just how un real these shows are. She didn't show an ounce of hate towards the women that she has been seen "fighting" with. Love her or hate her, she is entertaining, and that is undeniable. Anything she is in would be amazing! The first show I was introduced to was Atlanta and Nene was a standout to me. It’s clear a lot of the criticism she received was by a lot of tone policing, backwards, narrow-minded individuals that had it in there minds that Nene(a strong, confident, vivacious and personable) character was someone to fear. No one dared to check their biases because all Nene really wanted to do was shine.
Now THIS is my Ne Ne! I love ❤️ finding out more about her, and seeing the Ne Ne that I remember. She’s ALWAYS been real! Hugs 🤗
OMG! The end? When NeNe said you would be powerful together and then embraced Bethenny? No joke, I instantly burst into tears of hope, was totally taken by surprise by the emotion that moment caused! Excellent interview! Would also like to add that this podcast felt like 30 mins long and satisfied very well indeed.

Seeing women who went through adversity as girls and who had to develop strength now use it for good is inspiring. We all have a purpose. They are equipped to stand up and create change. The irony is Bethany and Nene are bravo’s karma. They are powerful together. I am rooting for Nene and for her to make a comeback. She deserves it.
NeNe does not deserve a comeback. She treated her cast mates like IT, she got the ego and the ego got her. Its sickens me to see her whine about a once in a lifetime opportunity she and her black cast mates were given and it was NeNe that crapped all over it. She made her bed and she needs to lie in it and shut up whining about it.

Bethenny is an astute businesswoman who, right from the outset, skillfully negotiated a Real Housewives (RH) contract that enabled her to leverage their platform for brand promotion, all while securing 100% ownership of her profits. If NeNe were to consider a return to RHOA under a new contract, it would be prudent for her to seek out capable professionals who can adeptly negotiate the terms she needs to succeed.
I think Bravo and co now have clauses to make sure no one else can profit like Bethany did without Bravo and Co getting a cut.

I believe NENE was telling the truth about the discrimination. I agree with Bethaney YES they exploited both she and NENE’s childhood traumas by purposely placing them in toxic and triggering environments/situations setting up their crews and cameras to catch the fallout and make MUST SEE TV! NOTE TO NENE: while you still have drawing power, get your own podcast and eventually your own TV show - YOU HAVE A BUILT-IN AUDIENCE (remember how many tuned in to see you on Carlos’ podcast), and at the end of the day, its a RATINGS GAME and you will get the ratings and some network will be enticed to give you another shot! KNOW YOUR WORTH! And then add tax!

I want to see Nene win! She is talented. I believe she did bring along the other cast members, not only for a show bit for the women around her to grow. She created an avenue for Sheree who was in a dependent and abusive relationship and Kim who was in a similar position. I really appreciated when she attempted to counsel Porscha. I agree with everyone. She deserves her own show.

NeNe was married to The Real Housewives of Atlanta franchise for over a decade and the divorce was messy. Racism, discrimination, emotional & financial abuse were all factors that led up to this inevitable break up. After years of commitment and hard-work she was left stifled & bewildered on these entertainment streets. She helped build the franchise and continues to generate revenue for the network without compensation.
NeNe (as well as the other black cast members on RHOA) experienced discrimination and systemic racism while filming for the show. NeNe was the spokesperson for the cast members. She complained to Bravo executives on behalf of the group for several years and the issues were never addressed.
All this was happening while The Powers That Be are phasing her out of the show without her understanding and proper accommodations.
NeNe was portrayed, by the media, as ungrateful & difficult to work with which is far from the truth. After NeNe left the show, she filed a legal complaint. I believe it was to get their attention and evoke a much overdue response to the issues.
After her exit from the show she wasn’t able to book jobs for several years. During that time she lost her husband of many years, Greg. He was sort of her voice of reason and the peacemaker in their relationship.
I think NeNe needed and needs a better team (agent, manger, publicist, attorney, etc.). You have to have the right people in place to help you successfully navigate in business. Her claims were valid, and hopefully she continues to soar.
Bravo, as well as other networks are making money off of talent by monetizing via syndication, streaming, distribution and other income channels without paying the talent.
Bethenny’s movement, SAG, and other fair treatment advocates/supporters are speaking out and working towards getting better contracts for talent.

Production costs money and talent requires money and they’re striking they won’t use they’re own money it’s too expensive and too risky.
Yes they could pay for the production (filming), but shows require backing, distribution, sponsorship etc; you really can't do it alone. Also, Bethenny isn't being entirely honest, and talk is cheap ... from the look on NeNe's face when she brought it up, something tells me that Bethenny has yet to make any official offer/pitch to NeNe or her people. The truth is NeNe is now a liability, and a lot of people would be afraid to work with her for fear that she would sue them too.

I loved and hated this interview all at once. Nene did amazing... she really reflects the black woman’s experience even in Corporate America. Bethenny was good. I just wish she would hold space to hear her guest more instead of speaking over them. She was cutting off a lot of Nene’s really amazing points. Also, it’s OK to call out that her experience would be different because she’s a black woman. And can we stop asking black women to humble themselves!

This is the comment I was looking for. I like Bethanny, but she kept cutting Nene off. By the end, anyone would feel tired trying to keep up. It could be a North (high energy) vs. South (more laid back) thing, but Bethanny kept telling her story instead of really listening to Nene's experiences.

The fact that LISA RINNA threw a wine glass and broke it and glass shattered everywhere and could have blinded someone, and the fact she actually reached across the table to STRANGLE Kim Richards, and she did NOT GET FIRED??? Thank you. Idk why it’s hard for some people to believe. All the network Executives have a relationship. Either way, Nene has a following. Instead of going on multiple shows and crying she should have her own Podcast and products. There’s no excuse to not have a business.
Love this vulnerable and transparent Nene and wish she had shown more of this side of her when she was on the show. Truth be told and dont know what campaign Bravo is doing to stop other networks or producers to work with Nene as she said but as a big fan of RHOA, Nene comes across while she was on the show as bossy, difficult and a bully and she turned some fans off including myself despite loving her on the show. Even during the Reunion when Andy asked her questions like he does with others, she shut him down and act like she is the boss and irreplaceable and i wish she had been more humble like she is now. I think she is more humble and easy to deal with now because they served her an humble pie. She thought she was the boss and untouchable forgetting that no matter how big or valuable you are to a company or organization, if you get too big to handle, no
matter how important you are to
that organization, you can be let go. Same happened to Tucker Carlson. My advice to you Nene, not that you asked for it but will give it anyway. Please show this side of you and not the over the top, larger than life attitude that is put off in many so many ways. And I hope that one day Bravo and Andy can put this aside and work it out with you since you have been served the humble pie and learned who the boss is

Here’s my “fan theory” about the situation. After Kim’s last season where the roach thing happened and Nene questioned why she had her own show, she complained to producers about unfair treatment. Because in one of her other interviews she explained how after that reunion she and the other girls approached producers to complain and nothing came of it. I believed they didn’t like that and because she was the “ring leader” so to speak they decided it was time to get her out. A few seasons later slowly everyone started turning on her starting with Kenya. I believe after her suspension for not “sharing her marriage” etc production pressured her to have a storyline and Nene became the target (because I believe production told her to do so). Slowly everyone began turning on her, which was low bc of Greg’s health battle. Things subsided for a little but then ramped back up where only Porsha (who eventually left after she was attacked the following season) and Marlo were the only ones who defended or supported her. The way Bravo built her up, cashed in and broke her down was nasty work. It’s funny because now everyone is trying to clear their conscience including Cynthia and Kenya saying Nene should be back on the show in their interviews as of late. But idk as someone who watched over the years as the entire situation played out, what do I know…

I love Nene and she has had cringe moments but their biggest mistake was losing her. Look at the show now, it’s just boring and the storylines are recycled played out. That’s why people watch Potomac as far as an all black cast is concerned.
