I don’t think the Housewives need to get paid more. I think that they deserve residuals and the family member, including children, who appear on the show should also get paid and get residuals. Apparently none of the kids get money. They could earn money and get it put in a trust.

Before Lisa VanderPump left, she was making $1.25MM per season, NeNe Leakes was making closer to $2MM etc. These salaries are FAR MORE than most physicians and lawyers - people who spent years and $$ in grad school. Most reality stars were plucked off the street from obscurity - no real talent, no education, no years of working bit acting parts to climb the ladder. They got super lucky and are paid very well to party, travel around the world and use their fame to get side hustles (Book deals, speaking engagements, etc). Sorry, Bethany, this is all B.S.

I think all the shows are too self aware now. It’s becoming so formulaic. Dinner from hell, insane trip. What I loved about the first 10 years of RHONY is it felt somewhat grounded in reality. I was watching salt lake the other night and kept thinking: do I actually like any of these women? And I don’t.

She benefited the most from the show and now wants to benefit more when she is not on it, while also shitting on it. She exploited the platform just as much as the platform exploits them. These shows are like social media - they put a magnifying glass on all the worst qualities and behaviors people have - and then those people avoid accountability by blaming it on producers, editing, etc.
So Bethenny climbs the reality tv ladder and pulls it up behind her. She would be NOTHING without the housewives.

I think the reason no one’s on board with Bethenny is because we are in really trying times, and certain reality stars like to live beyond their means. And an economy right now majority of the world is struggling. I think it’s a little insensitive to be trying to get reality. Stars paid more than what they’re already paid. I’m completely on board with the residuals, but as of right now, reality TV has been heavily produced, especially after the pandemic . Bethenny says things like reality Stars are pretty much forced to drink alcohol for content but what she doesn’t realize is the things that everyone else in the world is forced to do to make the bare minimum. Meanwhile, these reality stars are making 200,000+ per season I think Bethenny needs a reality awakening

I think Bethenny has a personal need to be famous. It’s just very classic: abandonment issues, troubled childhood, alienated from her mother, no relatives. She was a victim but rose above it all yet she wants to be seen. The first thing she showed the host was her walk-in closet and an expensive bag. To me that was WEIRD and yes in caps! But the camera didn’t show much of the room. She makes videos where she comments on many things, does make-up tests and shows off her outfits. Clearly she still loves to be seen.
She annoys me, partially because her motives are to fuel her on celebrity. Bethenny Frankel's participation in reality TV appears to be primarily self-motivated rather than aimed at assisting others. It's commonly understood that when individuals enter reality TV, they are likely to be subject to exploitation by producers and networks, as outlined in the extensive contracts they sign. However, I concur that participants should receive residuals for reruns of the shows they appear in.

Frankel tried to start up her own Housewives reality show this year, she presented the idea but it got rejected because it was too similar to Bravo's. Some how after Bravo helping her become a multi millionaire and pitching her own reality show a few months ago, she has now seen the light. She angry because Bravo re-casted the RHONY show, and a female in it is called Brynn same name as her daughter.

Of course she is angry the RHONY was revamped and recasted and the old drunks were dumped. Andy Cohen and his cohorts have made hundreds of millions of dollars off the backs of these women. No one should be on TV without being paid and even Brock from Vanderpump Rules said he did not get paid as he was not full time cast but he was on all the time and a big part of the story for 2 seasons. Okay, but it's difficult to feel bad for these rich consenting (middle-aged) adults many of whom know the franchise and thus what they are walking into. The franchise also has a majority adult audience whom I am sure can critically examine the behavior/won't glorify it. However, it is a good idea for all industries to unionize.
Not all reality personalities are rich. It's not unheard of for producers to fabricate a person's life so it looks good on TV.

There's been residuals since the 80s there's nothing stopping her from asking when she signed her contract back then. This is a topic that's been being fought for years and years look at the Brady bunch kids they don't get a dime. Of course there's always room for improvement, but overall I find it very hard or even impossible to sympathize with these women. There is a certain type of person who gravitates toward being a "reality star" and no one is forcing them to do it. To me, Bethenny has seemed very bitter towards Bravo for quite some time and this appears to be a bone she's not willing to let go anytime soon. Andy Cohen and Bravo need to keep their distance.

Appears her concern is really about the residuals and not profiting to the maximum extent she could. Which is fair enough. However, she’s delivering it under the guise of “justice”, which just doesn’t wash. When she started she was essentially a nobody. They gave her a platform and she ran with it - good for her. Everyone who starts out in any industry is essentially exploited, it’s just how it goes. The housewives are generally already wealthy, fully of age and many of them already lead chaotic lives (Jen Shah ahem ahem). I agree with others that hindsight is 20/20!

It changed by the time each franchise reaches the 2nd or 3rd season. That’s when Bravo producers began telling cast members they had to start drama ..more drama & more drama! It was not authentic, fans began an uproar when 3 Beverly Hills cast paid trolls to send racist & terroristic threats to the 14 yr old biracial son of a cast member. The franchises have become like Survivor.
She's 1000 percent right. And personally, yeah conflict is somewhat interesting, but the all out crazy that they get into actually makes me turn shows off. I liked RHONY the first couple of season where there wasn't a lot of conflict and then it started getting more irritating because of the manipulation by the producers.

Reality shows allow the viewers to see and cheer those whom act in the relatable fashion and call those out on those whom are too rich that they feel immune and detach from the world outside their bubble. The producer has executive producers making all the money and these people that is doing the most Are making crumbs pennies and running their reputation. I just like when its going good everyone is great and everyone is your best friend. But when its not in your favor, everyone is against you. Reality TV is bogus, I worked on sets in Hollywood. They use the word "talent" as a way to explain the role. They dont actually have traditional talents they have manipulation talents, or liar talents, or embezzlement talents. She is the best at tricking us. I worked with someone she started with on THE APPRENTICE. Scripted Shows have to have 100 episodes what happens when you are only 12 - 48 episodes
