Man your color grading is off the charts.
I know right , its crisp and clean.
I hate that people use that. It’s hyperreality. When you actually visit the places you have seen so much on on YT and IG, you will inevitably be underwhelmed
@@JamalW239 I disagree. Photos/videos cannot bring justice to the beauty of nature. So color grading attempts to bring that same sense of wonder and beauty that is felt while at the location. Even if the colors dont match perfect, I think it is impossible to not be overwhelmed when visiting places like these.
And regardless if that is what it truly looks like. This is an artform and the artist creates what he/she remembers of the scene and/or adds their artistic touches.
What's color grading?
@@azaliah82it's like a filter but you have way more customization
Laughing at the statement in the intro "2019 has been quite a year" because I'm watching this in 2020 and... Yeah...
And it only got worse from when u commented lmao
@@aidanquinlan3446 and since you as well 😖

You need to make a Borders podcast where you go more in depth and talk longer! Would definitely listen.

Been to Galway, Ireland Johnny? Your description of Leuven sounded a lot how I describe my hometown.
Im sad that he didnt see this
I visited Ireland in 2016 from Canada and I loved Galway! You have to go to the Cliffs of Moher if you ever make it there. Killarney and Killarney National Park were also some favorites.
Man, Galway is one of my favourite places in our country. Dingle in Kerry is definitely up there too

If you like Switzerland I would definitely recommend Slovenia. It’s the most beautiful and underrated place I’ve ever been.
CerealKiller 65 yes, Slovenia is so fresh, clean and beautifully full of nature. Seemed like the freshest air I breathed along the road that follows a roaring blue river.
Yea Slovenia is beautiful! Especially Lake Bled and the mountains
Lake bohinj & bled 👌👌
Oh my god I love Slovenia, I’ve been twice and would love to live there some day!
Have a like from a Slovenian :P
There's something about Johnny's voice, the way how he talks of things, I don't know, like it's mesmerizing. Btw, always love the color grading ♥
Yes! A very very very apt one for documentaries and videos in general. Love it. 😁💟
Need a podcast!
I agree! He talks very comfortably and intimately in front of a camera, which is hard to do if you have ever tried. Also, he looks like a Jedi.
I think it's very creepy the way he fakes his voice. You can hear his normal voice in a clip from the train, where he doesn't bother to sound like a feminine robot. This narration is just creepy, because it is so obvious his tone and speed is not natural but forced for the naration. Just my opinnion, but I think most people notice if somebody is talking naturally or not...
I love how in documentaries and travel shows, they always display the “sunny”, “bright” scenery and weather and we think of that as pretty or majestic.
But from this video we see that rainy weather or misty or dark weather is actually very beautiful too.
Just because it doesn’t show on my iPhone camera, it still looks good on my retina.
Wow, didn't expect to see Leuven in this top destinations. I never considerd it as a 'travel destination' since its so closeby but you changed my view on it. Definetaly going there this weekend!
Hey dieter
I had to laugh when he said it's a small town because it's one of our biggest cities
@@TheRealKingLeopoldII your comment 👍😊 Leopold II 👎👎👎
Traveling around Europe and in Porto right now and couldn't agree more.
I am studying in KU Leuven and I am so glad to see somebody said that for the first time on social media. I learned Dutch and now studying in Dutch and my main reason is just Leuven :)
I was so thrilled to see you recognize Taiwan as such an amazing place. My first trip to Taiwan was in 2018 and I loved it so much I decided to move here and have been living here for 8 months now. I feel like Taiwan hardly ever gets recognized as the amazing place it is. So it warmed my heart to see you mention it, and I really think you did it justice in what you said about it.
I went to southern Utah for the first time earlier this year and honestly I’ve never been so blown away. I love Europe and Asia but there’s something about the beauty in my own easily accessible back yard. Stoked it made this list😂
sometimes i personally think Vox doesnt deserve you, everything you do is just so good and really distances itself from the other stuff at Vox in therms of quality, enjoyability, peacefulness and greatness. Keep going man
I agree, his work is exceptional. I wanna see him do a full length documentary and like, win an Oscar for it or something lol
him & Rare Earth 👍👍
IDK why but this caught my eye, his favorite places spell out TULIPS :)
I guess #7 is Netherlands because the places are:
Taiwan
Utah
Leuven
Iceland
Porto
Switzerland
;)
Hahahah. Whoa.
dimafet001 don’t get it lol pls explain
Noah, read the first letter of each place, the Netherlands is famous for them
T-U-L-I-P-S ... 🌷 🧡 ==>> Netherlands 🇳🇱

As someone who lives near Leuven, who has grown up going there and now studies at the university and who loves the city, it is amazing to hear you, a guy whose videos I love and admire, talk about it in this way. Thank you very much for this. It truly warms my heart.
What a list!! Arizona is one of my favorite places I’ve ever been, now I want to go to Utah too!! Ps. Color looks SO GOOD!
It's quite lovely - places I definitely recommend: Moab (arches national park) and Goblin Valley.
When you come from Porto and you live in Switzerland 🙂🤗
Me and my brother Bobby traveled to southern Utah before he died and it’ll forever be one of the greatest experiences of my life. Not only was it beautiful nature, it was the last experience of life I had with my older brother. You started speaking about southern Utah and teared me up, these are happy tears because it took me back to a time in my life where I had an amazing experience with one of the most important people in my life. Helps me realize how much of a blessing Bobby was to have as an older brother. With all that said, life is still very much a blessing! I hope I’m making my brother proud, my love for him is infinite.. Thank you for your work Johnny, your videos are incredible!
Your story telling style is soo constructive, learned a lot from your channel and I try to apply it in my videos.
Don't go there
"But the tickets are so cheap" 😂
Leuven is the most underrated Belgian city, if not European city!
Nothing but a noisy student town gone awry! If you want the true student town experience, visit Ghent!!!
@@francis6489 isn't that Ghent that you just described with your first sentence? 😂
@@MysteryOfMovies Ghent is what Leuven would be if it had a soul.
No disrespect towards Leuven of course, it's always nice to visit.
@@francis6489 In my opinion: if you're an average Flemish, go to Ghent. If you're more interested in going international, go to Leuven ;)
@@francis6489 Ghent is too big, Leuven is a lot better
As someone who has been to pretty much all the places you've mentioned. I can definitely understand why you picked and love them.
I can't wait for all of us to go on our trip! Watching you and Iz travel makes me so HYPED. Great video - next stop PORTO and IZ's channel!
"oh, Iceland's cool"
Another great entry, Johnny. What a format. I can't help but lean in listening to you. Great teacher and storyteller, you definitely are.
As a local from Porto, I was crossing my fingers you would list Portugal, and was not disappointed! I love Porto too, it's super chill, has great people and food and you have the beauty of the river and the Atlantic ocean at the same time which you don't find in many places. Love your channel and your work Johnny! And come back! Portugal loves you too! xx
Hi Johnny! I live in Taiwan, always welcome you to visit here again! Great video!
I spent 5 years of my life in "that place you just stumbled on" in Leuven
It is the Department of Architecture's design studios
It’s Porto in Portuguese as well (not Oporto) 😂
Thanks for the shoutout!
Btw, I’m not sure you visited the Vineyards way up the river in the Douro region, but you definitely should 🙌
It was the British that added the O.
It's so weird.
In America, we say Porto too.
And it's pronounced "portu" not "portoh".
I went to Portugal every summer in the 80s and 90s to visit my grandparents. (Mangualde and Mealhada) but I've never been to Porto.
So sad. It looks so nice and I haven't been to Portugal since 2002.
@@JayRolo Yeah exactly, we generally pronounce it like "portu". Although people from Porto themselves usually pronounce it somewhat like "puortu" because of their characteristic accent (I hope I'm not offending anyone by trying to transcript their accent hehe). What a shame that you didn't get to visit Porto. Mealhada is not that far away from it.
Dude i was so stoked when you mentioned the Jungfrau region in Switzerland. I based my entire trip over there recently with your family's iterinary ( Iz's video ) . I was surprised cuz u mentioned 5 places lol.
Johnny, your voice is so soulful.
During a global pandemic quarantine, I'm so glad to find this video, my favorite story teller listing my beloved home country, Taiwan, among his favorite places on Earth. It's been three years since I left, and I almost forgot how much I miss it, until watching this and Iz's four videos.
Thank you, Johnny and Iz.
I am still looking forward to the day you do a Borders video on Taiwan, by the way. Go to Kinmen, the ambiguous twilight zone, the ultimate limbo among Republic of China, Taiwan, and People's Republic of China. Go and figure out why I put three names in that sentence.
As a Swiss it makes me happy to see the Jungfrau region on your list. It‘s truly wonderful there, whenever friends visit I try to take them there (even if only to pass by Interlaken). The places along the way to the Jungfraujoch (Wengen, etc) are great.
On my travels I‘ve been extremely entranced by Japan (both city and nature) as well as Scotland and Ireland, these two especially for their nature.
I love seeing yours (and Iz‘s) (travel) videos. Just watched her NYC one and it already gave me ideas for my next trip there.
Keep up the amazing work, Johnny! (And you too, Iz!)
nice!! I'm from Leuven! really cool that you show your appreciation. Interesting to see my city in a travellers perspective. Thanks
Love your videos. I'm traveling back in time watching them all. Thanks!
"2019 has been quite the year"
2020: Hold my beer
I want more!! Your music, footage, and stories are so powerful and inspiring
I love your channel so much!! Just started my own, ready for my own adventures! You are such an inspiration!!
Actually we in Portugal call it Porto, it's just weird for us seeing an O precede it. This probably came about because when referring to the city sometimes we say "o Porto" (the port) and some languages just took the THE and merged with the PORTO name.
Anyway, I'm just glad you liked the city I was born in. Next time you are in Portugal, go a bit north to Braga, it's smaller but has a lot of history, also even though I'm biased, there's no better place to eat in Portugal.
I'm currently living in Utah, and while I have a burning desire to visit many other parts of the world, it is so nice to be able to go on frequent adventures and be reminded that some of Earth's most incredible features in my backyard. I've been here two years and I keep discovering new things.
Before I even hit play, I said “he better have Switzerland 🇨🇭 on there”... was so disappointed once you got the top 5 called out. Then impressed, you saved the (my) best for last!
Another pro travel money saving tip: sign up, train for, and run the Jungfrau Marathon! It’s so beautiful and you get free Swiss train tickets travel to and from the area, as well as the day of the marathon! 👍😉
It makes me so happy and proud to see people love my country Portugal. From the Açores, Madeira,Évora, Guimarães ... There is so much to love!!!!
I was never a map fanatic. But after I started watching your videos, I find myself, sometimes staring at the map. And i realised how wonderfully complex borders of different countries.
Yess! Was holding my breath till my 2nd trip to Grindelward and Lauterbrunnen. Thank you for the nice little montage you made about Jungfrau. Cheers.
Sosososo good. Make me wanna visit so much more of everything I've haven't seen.
Iz's video on Jungfrau really helped me out in planning my trip there in September. We too stayed in Wengen. It was amazing. Thanks for the help.
Thanks @johnnyharris. Needed to see this 7 months into COVID (especially because working in the hospital) to plan for what can be next.
Hey! I live in Utah! I agree its gorgeous and pretty diverse landscape-wise.
epic. looking forward to looking back, johnny.
The Jungfrau region was awesome. I watched Iz’s video before we went in September.
Absolutely love the drone shots in this video😍😍
As a super fan of your always amazing video and work, just super stoked to see you put Taiwan on the list :)
Discovered yours and Iz's channel through the Switzerland vid. It solidified the fact I have to go soon and I cant waiit
Vox border series and now your own channel. Amazing content! I really like your storytelling and video (editing/shots) I'm kinda hooked to your content.
St. George Utah native here, so happy my backyard is on this list! Such an amazing place
My wife and I went to Iceland in November a few years ago. And I think you captured our feelings about it pretty well. I want to go back.
Inspiring. As always... It made me rethink the way i live my life... Thank Johnny Harris!!
Love your vids! Great content with good editing, music and graphic!
So cool you guys liked Leuven. I used to go there a lot when my cousin was studying there. I have great memories.
Was watching your videos while traveling through Utah. But found your chanel through my home page. Great quality and very informative! 👏
Another beautiful video. Haven't been to any of those places yet, but are keen to check them out!
You're an inspiration man, your videos just make me happy.
I can totally recommend visiting Iceland in Winter as well. It's awesome!
I've been coming to the Jungfrau region since I was 7 years old. Always stayed in a cute small hotel in Beatenberg, hotel Gloria. Thank you so much for these great images of the area!
I did my bachelors in Leuven, had such a great time there. The general vibe like you said is just perfect. I cycled every day passed the Arendberg castle you showed to my faculty. Such a blessing and that was only one of many amazing sites (other fave is a run around the Van Park abbey)
Amazing video and drone work! Such a nice watch!
Tks for shareing places which reserve unique culture and beautiful natural resources
Johnny, I want to go to all of these, thanks so much for you're incredible storytelling!
I just stumbled on this video on 2020. I've been to Iceland in January this year. It is the most beautiful, magical, unforgettable place I've ever visited. I am the least emotional person on this planet and the scenery literally brought tears to my eyes.
Did not expect to see you went to Leuven...
I've even studied in the Arenberg Castle for one year! Really cool to see you appreciate the place so much.
I went to Leuven for a week with a study abroad program. It was my favorite place that I went to over 8 weeks of traveling Europe. Really enjoy that you agree.
Watching the intro and just remembered you came to Taiwan this year...
Hoping to see Taiwan at least mentioned with little expectation...
Video zooms straight in on Taiwan...
“Number one is Taiwan...”
Big smile on my face.
Glad you enjoyed visiting here 😭
Leuven is amazing, just went their last January!!
Love this... and I agree..
I've been able to visit Iceland, Porto and the Switzerland region you mentioned. these are all amazing places, but to me, it would be hard to pick and choose between Iceland and Switzerland.
Your content is CZcams gold! 🥇 Keep the vids coming!
I love your channel man!!
Greetings from Egypt!
Man I love your style of storytelling and editing.
Beautiful list!
I went to 3 out the 6 you mentioned here this summer thanks to IZ and your Vlog's. No regrets and were amazing. Lauterbrunnen was probably my favorite to visit.
J. Harris I thought you Might like this to remind you of southern Utah as it does for me. czcams.com/video/GSCLpe8lplw/video.html
All amazing places. Love your thoughts and feelings on travel. I'm trying to take the same approach and share that with my 2.5-year-old. I love that you bring your kids along the journey, it's so great for them to be shaped with a world view. I'm headed to Tawain next month, excited about the trip! Now I want to go make tea. :)
I followed u maybe 1 year ago because of the too many pics videos. I just binged watching ur videos; I love them; and I’m so glad I found u:)
I live in Leuven, and i have always said, is like living in a postcard! So cool to see it featured in your video!
New Zealand, Iceland, Malta... also Slieve League in Ireland this time of year (spring)
Sweet you got Porto on the list!
Great video. I was always wondering about Iceland because people say it's 'cliché', but I've always wanted to go there ever since elementary school, so thanks for restoring my passion to the dream.
Subbed...love your videos! Specially the history lessons!
Your video footage is the best I have seen. Thank you.
Have been binging on your channel Johnny... brilliant!! Also watching your wife, Iz’s channel, this is what CZcams is ahh about. Quality clips!!
You need to come to New Zealand. Spend a couple months travelling all over, and you’ll see so many of the best in other countries all here. Sounds, glaciers, ski fields in south, tropical rainforests and bush in middle, deserts in central north island, warm beaches in far north.
Each time I travel I am so thankful I can NZ my home. ASIDE: I also have ADHD, dyslexia... know of a few that have our combination, seems they often go together.
Yes Utah! I lived in Utah for 5 years and loved it - honestly can't wait to move back.
Amazing video!
Haha whattttttt southern Utah, that was such a pleasant surprise! I recognized those Zion mountains lol
love it ,waiting for a long time for your new video.
Thanks for making this video Johnny! Taiwan has a truly unique vibe as your described :)
thank you for shareing this part of you and your family life, sir awesome videosalso

I don’t think you understand how much I love your channel 💞
Your appreciation for life and your curiosity is so inspiring man, seriously. I've been trying to catch up on your videos and I want to travel but I don't know where to start could you give some advice pls?
