      I was thinking the same thing -- no way I'm going to cook this recipe and not eat almost all of the first batch all by myself. . . Looks so delicious, I can almost hear the crunch!

    The base batter looks like it would be good for fried fish. Have you done that?

      Love this idea, MurrayAronson - latkes are such a traditional Eastern European Jewish Chanukah dish, but we Jewish people have just as long a history in Spain, and these fritters are so close to the Ashkenazi traditional latkes, they're almost exactly the same. How cool is this?

    Having friends for lunch next week as a pre Christmas celebration.     That looks so delicious! I can't wait to try them. That crunch. 😋 Coworker would bring an onion dip to work at our potlucks that was 2 cups each of chopped onions, shredded cheddar cheese, and mayonnaise(not Miracle Whip, it will break down) and bake in oven at 350°F until top is golden. These remind me of a fried version of her dip. Will try adding lemon zest the next time I make the dip and maybe three lemon juice. Thank you for all of your great videos. 😋🥰

      For anyone else thinking about trying garbanzo flour instead, I had poor results. The batter was really runny. I kept adding more garbanzo flour to try to thicken it up, and it didn't help. I ended up having to add wheat flour to get fritters with a more vertical structure.
      Maybe there's something else that has to be added to get garbanzo batter to behave like wheat-based batter, but I don't have enough experience with gluten-free cuisine to know what that might be.

    Good morning I love your recipes. Actually looking for something that's more friendly with people who are keeping their blood sugar low. As I continue my health Journey. Is Spanish food healthier than regular food here in America's just had a question about that. Also on a personal note if it's not too personal I just want to know are you a Christian? Thank you for all you do and bringing great foods to the public.

      Most Mediterranean cuisines are healthier than much of the "regular" food eaten in the US (generally speaking, we Americans tend to eat too much meat, too much sugar, too many over-processed foods and nowhere near enough fresh veggies and whole grains). Also, on a personal note, why on earth would you care what our host's religion might be?

      Hello, thank you for answering my question about the foods it's very much appreciated. And the reason that I asked is simply because I am a Christian and the way that I have been brought up in the way that I have learned is that to be very careful what business businesses Ministries and other places that I sold my money into and I wanted to join Spain on a plate, however if it does not line up with my values that I'm unable to sew into it as I would have liked to and that really is the only reason. There are plenty of other businesses that I have taken my money out of because they did not line up with my Christian beliefs so it's just a boundary for me to protect me as a person it's not something that he has to answer I just wanted to know so that I could join and become a patron and that is the only thing.

      You have this entirely backwards. It's the overtly "Christian" businesses that rip people off based on their assumptions. Affinity fraud is almost entirely a problem within "Christian" groups.

      There is more fast food popping up in Spain and processed foods available in the super mercados, so they're catching up to non-Mediterranean countries. As for the Religion question, I understand what you are saying and though I may be a "Christian", it's inappropriate. Jew, Muslim, Christian, they ALL have bad aspects, and your explanation leads me to believe that you are one of the bad ones.
