    // 2023 CHANNEL UPDATE //
    I’ve moved on from Mobility Mastery (self fascia release) in order to focus on teaching Kinetix, my method of root cause discovery for pain and dis-ease that involves partner fascia release as a “diagnostics” (and regeneration) tool. Kinetix is a complete scientific methodology that I teach to friends, partners and professionals alike inside The Kinetix Academy.
    My other primary focus will be the launch and growth of a new podcast and Substack community called The Human Freedom Project.
    // NEW CONTENT ON CZcams //
    Sometime in 2023 I will return to CZcams with HFP podcast episodes and content created to help you know and understand yourself as a whole organism made of body, soul and spirit. This content will feature the Kinetix methodology, pain science, fascia secrets I’ve learned from 15+ years in private practice, neuroscience and evolving beyond the brain, trauma and the body, and more! I’m excited to go on this new adventure with you.
    ********** // VIDEO DESCRIPTION // *********
    FASCIA FACTS:
    - Fascia (connective tissue) contains fibroblasts that synthesize collagen and components of the ECM (extracellular matrix).
    - Fasciacytes synthesize HA (which imbibes the water you drink and helps hydrate every cell of your body).
    - When it comes to fascia, it has a mind blowing "proof resilience" of 2,000lbs.
    Why the above matters:
    Fibroblasts are morphologically different from Fascicytes (which I’ll discuss below). Fibroblasts are the main cell in your body responsible for synthesizing collagen, which is the most abundant protein in your body. Collagen is made of amino acids, is the main component of connective tissue and it's found in abundance in tendons, ligaments, cartilage, your gut, intervertebral discs and blood vessels. Fibroblasts in fascia respond to pin and stretching methods. Knowing about the differences between fibroblasts and what they offer in terms of pain relief and human optimization, compared to fasciacytes and what those cells offer, is (I believe) key to getting the result you want.
    What exactly do these newly discovered fasciacytes respond to, in order to synthesize hyaluronic acid endemically? Remember, hyaluronic acid is responsible for muscle, nerve and gliding, cellular hydration and fascial resilience (which we'll talk about below).
    Collagen is important because it contains the protein building blocks for repair; collagen rich bones, tendons and ligaments will be strong and likely resistant to tears. However, collagen is very "gluey" and I believe when fascia lacks hyaluronic acid (and as a result, water) and contains too much collagen in comparison, this is when fascia starts to stick to itself in dense ropes or knots.
    Hyaluronic acid (otherwise known as hyalurnon, which I am calling HA for short) is critical for smooth muscle gliding, wound healing, protection from free radicals and fascial hydration....to name just a few key points. Muscle and fascia gliding of course is critical for optimal movement function, and a LACK of this gliding can result in fascia thickening or hardening. This is your body's best attempt to maintain function despite a less than ideal inner environment. But fascial thickening or hardening can lead to pain in and of itself (remember: your fascia contains its own pain receptors), potentially implicit in fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome and connective tissue disorder to name just a few.
    HA is also intimately connected to a critical overarching component of our health and vitality: cellular hydration. If you're dehydrated, you get sick. If it persists, you die. As most of us know, humans can go a LONG time without eating. Not so with water. We need water. We are supposed to be up to 70% water after all. Yet a lot of modern humans are hovering around 55% water. And sure, it's important to drink about half your body weight in ounces per day. HOWEVER - and this is super important! - if your cells can't GET the water you're drinking into themselves, it doesn't matter how much water you drink, you're still dehydrated.
    If you want OPTIMIZED fascia, you need to activate as many fasciacytes as you can all over your body, because it's the water content of your fascia that is largely responsible for its elasticity and ability to absorb and release energy. You can reverse the age of your fascia, increase the water content and health of your cells, and create resilience if you're committed. And faster than you think. However, as we've talked about before - whether you get there or not is largely determined by your nervous system (as I mentioned above).

    I've been doing foam rolling logs and balls of various sizes for a few weeks now. A Triggerpoint 5" foam orange ball, Red lacross ball, 2.5" triggerpoint foot roller ball, and a triggerpoint foam cylinder. Please, roll around on these. It may ache and be painful but like Elisha says in phase 1/2 but I can you this will help with your mobility and chronic pains. You just cant be a baby about it. ROLL IT OUT! I cant imagine someone walking on me yet, maybe after I've graduated from my foam rollers
    PS - This is a process of getting your body back into working order so do not be concerned if it does not work right away. Love the content, please add some nutritional recommendations for healthy fascia.

    Oh, I meant that your knowledge of the body exceeds mine, so I have to really search and find some way to understand better. But the more I watch, I’m picking up more. Thank you 🙏

    My "aha moment" right now is: I've been stretching like crazy the last 8 years, gained a lot of flexibility but some parts of my body just won't give... This fascia story is the missing link! So as I understand I have been doing a lot of collagen synthesizing but not producing enough HA. It's time now to get that fascia system sheared and compressed!
    Thank you thank you Alisha

      Some types of veggies and nuts contain oxalates that get stored in the body in the form of muscle tightness too.

    I am loving having found you here!
    My interest in fascia's fantastic properties started half a decade ago.
    My body type is athletic, slim and very flexible in general.
    I seem to have contraction patterns related to my large neck muscles forgetting to work effectively...leading to pain after doing what used to be normal spring gardening requiring forward reaching from a weak upper body organization.
    Hope springs eternal of course and I'm excited to learn of and employ optimal motion.:)

    It's amazing how needed this information is and how few doctors discuss it. Thank you for these videos, I'm learning a lot. My mom has scleroderma along with many other issues so I'm always doing research to help her.

      Most doctors are not taught anything about correcting/healing. Our medical schools are, mostly, owned/funded by pharmaceutical companies. I’ll leave the obvious alone.

    As always I hope you and yours are well. I enjoy when I can help my body heal from either tightness or pain. You helped me with knee pain and now when I have it, I either go to the back of my calf or as in now, I can go to my hip or ankle for some kind of release. I feel water or better put, the sensation of water when I use heavy weight on the back of my leg to release any pain on my knee. Before I thought I want this sensation more but looking at this video I could be lacking something I need, maybe collagen? I like your videos albeit too hard for me to grasp at times.. Have a great day. Be healthy and stay humble❤️

      Hey Gordo - thanks for your comment and sharing what's going on with you! I'm really glad some of my info could help your knee pain. I'm curious about your comment "hard to grasp" - is it the info itself, a language difference, too sciency? I'm asking in case I can learn something about how to present in common language, while still satisfying my viewers that want the hard science.

    Aloha :-) I lovenerding out with you! I will definitely pick up your PDF and I’m interested in the partner kinetics, is that something that’s offered online? In answer to your question I’m not positive which one I am I feel like I’m more fibrous as when I use my foam roller and get up at feels great however I tend to get that stuck feeling again later that day or the next Day. One note is that I’ve been using a softer foam roller as when I started with a more firm roller it was too painful. I think I’m going to start using my firm roller next. On the other hand sometimes I feel like I am watery since there’s not always that feeling of stability in my joints etc. So not completely sure which one it is? Mahalo

    Thank you for the very interesting fascia facts. I have terrible tight painful fascia pulls everyday and I cannot get on top of them. They pullon my neck and spine. Lots of compressiondoes help for a whileand then comes back. It hurts and I cannot hurt myself everyday .it releases for a day or two and the the pulls start again in my neck and then the other fascial lines. I have started taking one hyaluronic acid tabs everyday but then it does start to pull less and very gluey but it will often just do this when I am sleeping and It wakes me up as I just don't know what it is up to and then it goes tight again. Do you have any sugestions ?

    More collagenous, I think. Could I get the beginner's guide to fascia release that you offered in this video? I am new to it, have healed a broken wrist, but my fascia in my fingers are stuck. Been to a chiropractor who specializes in MR but have seen very little progress. Thanks!

    I’m definitely more collagen, less watery, and feeling the negative consequences.
    Your explanation really makes sense to me! I was noticing that some body work left me feeling, relaxed, but my body felt denser/thicker. And I noticed that your shearing technique left my body feeling more flowy (as you said), like tissues were more loose and free. The hyaluronic revelation has inspired me to go to town with shearing!
    I’m struggling with shearing my upper arms and elbow areas. These are my main problem areas.
    Thank you so much for this great education!

      Thanks for asking Claire! I'll put up the #fascianista video on updates tomorrow (including my Dr. Mindy call), but overall it went well. I'll talk to her again next week, and then get my protocols to begin implementing. Ordered test kits, but it'll be awhile before I get results (8 weeks or so, ugh!)

    2,000lbs????!!!!🤯

    • @ElishaCeleste
      @ElishaCeleste  Před 4 lety +4

      Right?! It's kind of crazy. And, I didn't cover this in THIS video, but because of that proof resilience, fascia can also create force fields within the body causing energy distortions of up to 2,000lbs. Or so I've heard. For example: your quad hip flexor fascia becoming so dense it creates a 900lb distortion on the pelvis, anteriorly. However, we are amazing at compensating. The goal is to restore the fascia to its proof resilience, so instead of internally distributing those 2,000lbs and unloading it on joints, nerves etc, we can UNLOAD it elastically and remain unharmed.

    • @yvonnemairose6100
      @yvonnemairose6100 Před 4 lety +2

      I absolutely see it in my body. My fascia is corkscrewing my torso yet no matter what I throw at it, it persists. At this point I have begun working on the thought process that is likely twisting my biology since there are no obvious "physical" reasons for this happening. I hope that this approach is the key to maintaining health not only in my fascia but other systems as well.
