- From Dawn Summers to Georgina Sparks, Michele Trachtenberg has brought us countless iconic characters over the years! Now the 35-year-old actress is spilling behind-the-scenes moments from her favorite projects, including her time with Rosie O'Donnell on set of the beloved Nickelodeon film, 'Harriet the Spy.' Plus, the star dishes to ET about hosting and executive producing 'Meet, Marry, Murder,' the true crime docuseries premiering Oct. 6 on Tubi.
Harriet and the spy and Matilda were my two favorite childhood movies growing up.
Exactly mine too! They both still hold up!
2 films released in 1996.
One film is about a girl that hates school and the other is about a girl that loves school
I was just thinking the exact movies!
Both are so sad too. We been through it guys!!! But we ok
Oh good it wasn’t just me!
It feels so nostalgic to watch Michelle, because I probably watched everything she did on Nickelodeon, then "Inspector Gadget." She's 3 years older than me, and I still remember watching "Harriet the Spy" countless times. I remember being shocked on how gorgeous she had developed as a woman while watching "Eurotrip" in the early 2000's. I also believe she is underrated as an actress.
She also seems like an old childhood friend whom I've never met, but we grew together and now, we're dealing with adulthood. She is someone I wish nothing but the best for, and I hope her new show is a success.
I was born in 88, Harriet was my idol, I even made me a spy kit like in the movie...and went a few times to the open market to act like a spy, etc....
Literally only bought those black and white marble notebooks as a kid cause of Harriet the spy 😭
THAT! and Ghostwriter for me
@@kjdnyhmghfvb omg ghost writer! That is a memory I haven’t unlocked for years! Hahaha I was like 5 and obsessed with that show as a kid.
@@nicoliva2327 Ghostwriter word!
Me too!!!
And the movie Sev7en
She will always be Ice princess to me
Same!!
Facts
Who?
@@hellbent-soontobeofficialy975 The Disney Channel movie lol, about the figure skater. Ice Princess and Go Figure were my movies 💛🤣🙌🏽
@@skinni_the_P00hBear I think I heard that somewhere before.
I recently found out , they wanted her to play Bella in the Twilight movie franchise, but she turned it down. I wonder how different the movies would have been
Good question
Wow I did not know that!
She never turned down the role, just like Jennifer Lawerence she lost the role to Kristen Stewart. Who they wanted as Bella was Emily Browning but she turned it down which was a mistake on her part thinking it wouldn’t do well.
She would’ve been great as Bella. I’m not a fan of Kristen playing that role.
@@warrenaray do you know what’s sad? Is that Kristen Stewart has recently come forward and says she regretted doing twilight just like her costar Robert Pattinson so honestly I’m not surprised💁 but seriously 😒? The fact that she saying this 10 years after the franchise ended it is pathetic🤦 in my opinion🤷♂️
She looks amazing and healthy! Good to hear her voice again 💜
Michelle is one of those actresses that makes me nostalgic as soon as I see her. Harriet the Spy, Buffy. Glad to see she's doing well.
The combination of fun, carefree 90's childhood memories with a mentor who took care of her must be what made her emotional
She was the most beautiful kid!!
When she was in euro trip I had the hugest crush on her
I always felt that as a child. She's always possessed such remarkable, arresting beauty.
She seemed super humble then and now. Her quirks in her characters helped me embraced mine as a kid ✨
@Kipper Knickerz Why would you say that? I articulated that I always felt she was beautiful when I was a child. As a young girl, I wanted to look like her.
I love Michelle, and Harriet the Spy was a childhood staple of mine! I'm so excited to see her True Crime show!
The orange vhs tape
Yes!
That movie was a staple of my childhood. For years all I knew her as was Harriet... thank you forever Michelle
Harriet the spy might not be too remembered but it serves to be a moving portrait of a lonely girl who goes through a lot of self transformation. It has a lot of important lessons in it, they don’t make children’s movies like that anymore
Rosie is so kind to children.
I totally feel her reaction reminiscing about Harriet the Spy. I’m about the same age, and thinking back to those years pulls serious emotions. Those were really the good ol’ days.
The movie still holds up to this day.
Omg who remembers her on "Truth or Scare?" I'm glad she's hosting another show!
AHH I was looking for this comment!! I was terrified of the Dracula episode when I was younger lmaooo
I carried a notebook and pencil all the time. My spirit animal as a kid was Harriet the spy!!!!!!
Was obsessed with that movie as a kid. Watched it at least two times per day. That and Matilda🤣
I saw that movie in the theater with my sister. It's such an underappreciated movie.
Harriet the Spy was my favorite childhood movie!!! Thank you so much!!!
“I can’t help it if I know what I like, and I know that I like, tomato.” I still quote this all the time! 😆
Yes! It's so weird how stuff sticks in your head!
Yes!!! I loved Harriet the Spy in 96! That movie did make english class extra cool to me and I kept a journal up until sophmore year of high school!
I love her in everything she does, well maybe not as Dawn (Buffy’s little sister) but I even loved her as Georgina Sparks 😂
I used to narrate myself out loud while writing in a notebook because I loved Harriet the Spy! It was such a great movie and showed a female using her brain and not fitting a stereotype! Most shows didn’t capture this time in life!
I love Harriet the spy one of my favorite movies
Such a legend! Harriet the spy is a classic!
I loved Harriet The Spy so much when I was little.. I remember I always cried so hard when Rosie's character left.. aahhhh 😭
I had a huge crush on her when I was a kid.
Can't believe rotten tomatoes only gave Harriet the Spy a 48 rating!. That was a wonderful coming of age movie, they were all only a couple years older than myself when i first saw it. That scene when Golly voluntarily left her job had me in tears .And What ever happened to Charlotte Sullivan and Vanessa Chester? I loved them
Happy 36th birthday Michelle.
I remember her in The Adventures of Pete & Pete.
I completely forgot she was in that thank you for sparking my memory on that she was really funny in that so many good childhood memories watching that show
Michelle Trachtenberg is gorgeous I love her she stared in so many good movies/ tv shows that was a part of childhood.
I thought she and Matthew Broderick had great chemistry as uncle and niece in Inspector Gadget awesome movie
She’s so beautiful, her skin is gorgeous!
Matilda and Harriet The Spy came out the same year. Also both of my childhood faves.
I'd love to see her in a Buffy the Vampire-Slayer reunion mini-series.
There is so much mess associated with the creator and some of the staff that it won’t happen for a while. It’s a shame since the show is amazing though.
My nephew was just born and this is one of the celebrities he shares a birthday with, lol. She's great. I've grown up watching her for 2 decades now.
Wow!!! I’m so glad she’s doing well and she looks amazing!
She was funny on The Adventures of Pete and Pete as Nona.
Yes! Loved that show.
That was the movie back in the day!!!! ❤️❤️
Michelle has changed so much since the first time I saw her in Harriet the Spy and Ice Princess!

I almost cried too. I love it!
We need a Harriet the spy reunion!!!
To this day, I still write my daily journal. I was inspired by Harriet the spy when I was in the 6th standard. I am doing my doctoral studies now and keeping journals have influenced my life in so many positive ways. I wouldn't be where I am today without that inspiration to write😫😫😫. Thank you to this movie. I've followed Michelle throughout her Buffy days as well.
I started a 20+ journey writing in journals after watching Harriet the spy.
I loved "harriet the spy" as a kid! I started writing in a journal myself lol
I had something to do with creative dialogue for , "Harriet The Spy" . She was great , reading and eating craft food that we all love! Doritos came out with this actress! 💯🤪💞
The first time I saw a tomato sandwich lol I love the movie literally watched almost every weekend

I could watch 3 hours of this ngl. She is so funny 😂😂
who else had a huge crush on her as a kid and growing up?
I gotta rewatch Buffy!! when I was younger I watched it but never kept up with it
Not sure if she's drunk or just anxious
Right? I was surprised to see no one saying this in the comments. She might be nervous. She hasn’t been doing much publicly in years. But constantly shaking her head and rolling her eyes and fidgeting, I don’t know. Her speech was odd too, not to mention the Rosie I got you thing.
I think she is drunk.
She played the best kid spy I used to drive my mum crazy watching this video on repeat all of the time good memories the movie's of this era where absolutely memorable and inspired a lot of kids to be sleuths and kid detective's I know it made me look at crimes differently Harriet the spy and Nancy Drew always will be in my childhood heart it may be locked away but it's still there waiting to be investigated ❤️
"The new Murder she wrote"!
okay but have yall seen ice princess? lol that movie is goatedddddd!
I always admired Michelle Trachtenberg
Georgina Sparks!! I love you!!!
That movie was amazing when I was a kid. “The time has come the walrus said…” 🥲

Harriet the spy was the besttttt
Omg!!! I remember renting Harriet the Spy as a kid! I was around her age at the time. Probably 8 or 9. Still remember the blue paint scene and her friends turning on her when they read her diary! Lol
I was just thinking about this movie yesterday
