It's true that when you have what the hearing community calls a "disability", you would become more of a target. But there is no guarantee that if Daphne had the ability to hear, that she wouldn't have been a target.

Ok if Daphne wasn't deaf she would've been able to hear the guy coming through the back door and stopped it from happening by either self defense and hitting him with something that's the downfall of being deaf since she couldn't hear or be aware of her surroundings unlike hearing people who have the privilege of hearing someone robbing them so I don't agree with what Melody told her.

Melody literally told her that was the downside of being Deaf. She just said the advantages more than made up for it.

@@katymvt which is? There seem to be a lot of illusion with this “culture“ thinking that they’re somehow equal to fully hearing people

    Richer deeper life
I can easily say the same with bipolar
But I still need the treatment

deafness doesn’t need to be treated it’s not a sickness (or really even disability to those of us within the community it’s more like a culture of people of all races socials statues and even sexual preferences) and anyone in whatever disability community leads a richer deeper life because of said differences i’m deaf walk with crutches live in chronic pain because of scoliosis but my life isn’t as horrible as some would think in fact i think i know myself more than most do or can because i have to because of my disabilities
