Some people claim Mariah is a diva, but I've seen a few interviews (and I'm sure she can be completely different outside of the interviews) where she mentioned the hardships she endured growing up.I feel like she understands the struggle in the industry and she can be understanding in this regards. Even to this day Mariah will bring up the fact that she went to school for cosmetology and that she worked as a waitress. I feel like she tries to show people that she's a normal person despite the glam. It's why I really like her song Looking In and Portrait. She seems respectful and sometimes humble (such as singing onstage with someone who is iconic and has been in the industry longer, she won't try to overdo them when singing. She actually got upset when Celine Dion did this. She found it rude).
