That transmission was at its limit. A proper rebuild to match the engine output will be for the best

some cars are just rated for the horsepower it produce orginal. Little bit more and things start to go bad :O

@@laska907 Im assuming they checked the mileage, and they seem to be friendly with the guy that works there so maybe not. i think it was just bound to happen, especially if the engine was tuned this much and transmission was not changed at all.

2nd gear is the first thing to always go on these. Need to get a built trans if you plan on driving it like that, or it will happen again.
@@maxnex7676 from what i heard, the stock gearboxes on the r8/gallardo/huracan can hold up to 1,000 HP On Stock Internals

Hi guys, before I even finish watching the video I already have a suggestion for you: If the City allows you to do so, why don´t you just build another shed in the back (maybe smaller) for body work, prepping and even fit it as a paint both? It would save you time and efford every time you have to go to your parent´s house. Besides, if you put a decent floor on top of your office, and a ladder, you can store most of the small and light part you need such as sand paper, buffing material, paint, paint guns etc. all in the same place for more efficiency. Just a thought...

Remember the blowup paint booth, Wonder what happened to that? Could use it until the other building is built out. Once the city approves the drainage part.
@@dog01b52 I was thinking the same, however, since this location seems to be a permanent site (at least for several years to come) and a pre-assembled structure is avialable, not to mention the concrete flooring of the booth, at the end it would be less time consuming facing a deffenitive build in stead of a part-time one. Also consider safety: in that environment a blowup pain booth is un secure, while a steel frame structure is more reliable.

I am a avid watcher and car enthusuast and I wanted to share with you the proper pronunciation for Porsche (por-shuh). I purchased seveal bottles of Dang Sauce and shared them with family; BIG HIT, everyone loves it. My Brother-in-law and nephew are brew masters (making IPA's) creating special IPA's for our local resturants, they have used all the bottles of Dang Sauce. Time to order more.

@Goonzsquad I work making Fiberglass molds and parts. Those lines are from the mold. The hood is layer up in one piece but the mold comes off in separate pieces so the hood can be popped out. Great job as always guys!🙏🏼

Dang that sucks but you know y'all will have it fixed and continue ripping. That r8 is one of the coolest cars y'all have for sure since it's twin turbo'd & looks amazing.
Great content as usual. Just an encouragement, the exotics are made for some fun, but try to take care with those. When something breaks, it ain't cheap, as you well know.
Launch the others, burnouts, etc... the others. Enjoy the drive of the exotics. Just take this one as one of those lessons learned. I see lots of tips on what to do with the transmission in the comments so I won't add to those as it would be out of my depth. Keep the awesome work coming and looking forward to the progress of each.
P.S. Try to see how you can add more safety elements to that GTM car. I looks sketchy and if it wipes out, God forbid, wouldn't want anything to happen to y'all.

I don't to say I know for sure, but I believe the determinating factor of a mid engine vehicle is whether the engine sets either behind or in front of the suspension. Whether engine is mounted forward or aft of the passenger bay.
Mid engine is in between front and rear axles. Rear engine is behind rear axle. Front engine is in front of front axle.

Twin turbo’d with a stock trans 😂👌🏼
Great Vid boys. The R8 will be fine.
Reminds me of the good old days when I gel coated Dune Buggy's and car parts then fiber glassed them in the molds. First you wax and buff the mold many times with a good paste wax, then you spray in the gel coat .010 to .030 gelcoat and when that is done you lay in the fiberglass and balsa wood at the stress points ( the wood absorbs resin and get extra stiff and strong) and let it cure about 10-15 minutes then just pop it out of the mold and do it all over. We used and spray gun to apply the fiber glass, Resin and hardener can out the top and the fiberglass was chopped into small 1.5' pieces can out the bottom and mixed with the resin. After we sprayed it in so thick in the mold we rolled it in to the mold to flatten it the it was done. Some hand lay the fiberglass in and paint brush it into place and others lay the glass and inject the mold with resin.
When you pick up the car after getting wrapped, I thought to myself ……how long before something gets messed up on it???🤣👍

I was concerned about the engine output when the turbo kit was installed because I wasn't sure if the transmission had been rebuilt. I guess we know the answer. Better do a full transmission rebuild Goonzquad because there is no point replacing just the 2nd gear and eventually another gear gives out.
By the way, I understand that r8 is a serious machine but don't just rip it to the high rpm just for the sound and acceleration. Be gentle with the throttle and press slowly and enjoy the drive with moderate.
Im not even sure if the engine was stock when the turbo kit was installed. If it was it could suffer the same fate as the transmission. The differential, axles we're not upgraded to cope with the increased output. Better check out those.
1000hp is not uncommon for these cars. I think the internals can handle it

Y'all will have to rebuild that tranny right and upgrade everything so it can hold the power y'all are putting down also y'all might wanna upgrade those axles cause those will probably be your next weakest link. Whatever y'all do don't get rid of it! That thing is sick!

What they need to do is find a track to test the cars on. Eventually they are going to get hit with a street racing ticket, and in a lot of states they confiscate the car. Either that they going to hit hit someone and get sued.
Would be better to make friends with a track owner. They don't have the money to compete with true super and hyper car owners, and the lawyers they have to fight the tickets they get.

When you guys got this thing the transmission had taken a serious internal hit with that wheel being smashed and I guarantee it messed up clearances inside the trans and contributed to it blowing. I've seen the mounts break i was surprised it didn't...

there may be a size restriction of the building based off property size since they are in city limits , like if everyone one had buildings and parking lots there wouldn't be rain water going in to the ground , so some areas restrict a building sqft based on lot size

Take a look at Kyles Audi R8, he has the 1320 video channel. Pretty sure he grenaded his trans and had one built with billet internals to hold the power. Whistlin' Diesel has one of these as well. If his trans will hold its a good unit.
If whistlin Diesel trans holds up to what he does to his cars you know it’s a good built trans

You should get a steel car port for sanding. They setup pretty easy and you guys have the room off to the side there. Get a 2 car one so you have room to move around and shade. Would keep the dust inside down big time.

You guys should install powered walls, so whenever you have to paint, sand, buff, fiberglass or anything you would have an area to do it

You guys need to figure out to build on the new garage a separate building one for sanding and a paint-boot.
Good body work is rarely finished in one coat. I seems to appear it has to be built up and taken down at the very least two times. But preparation is everything. Bad work will show it's head only after the paint has been done.

Dave from DDE had the exact mod (turbos + built engine) on his Huracan.
He never drove it on manual because the guys who built his engine told him never to hit the rev limiter because he would kill the gearbox.
Yep but these boys never bother listening to good advice they just punch it for YT clicks. Lets hope views pay the bill.

The tanks are made for outward pressure. Once in place the dents won't matter.
