- In this video, I had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Erin Issac, a Pediatric Dentist about why she chose to enter the field, tips for those interested in pursing Pediatric Dentistry and advice for all!
After graduating from Gateway High School, Dr. Erin went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Neurobiology and Physiology from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her hard work during college paid off as she was rewarded with a scholarship to attend the prestigious Ivy League, University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, in Philadelphia, which is consistently ranked amongst the best in the nation. It was there that she found her passion for caring for children. To further her knowledge of dentistry for kids, Dr. Erin continued her education with a rigorous residency program at the nationally ranked Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, where she earned a certificate in pediatric dentistry. She has been working throughout the Pittsburgh area since then. Because of her top notch training, Dr. Erin is well versed in areas such as preventive and restorative dentistry, dentistry for special needs and medically complex children, dental emergencies/trauma, interceptive orthodontics, oral surgery and behavior guidance

Thanks!
Tips for those who love this field, they need to see this channel!
Just letting you know man your channel touches a lot of people especially the African American community. Especially since black doctors are in very short supply, I think it’s awesome that you find black doctors it gives me hope for sure. Only if our community realizes you don’t have to be a rapper to be successful, I was just like you growing up except had a kid in highschool and got into a tone of fights etc lol looking back on it sucks but I always had a secret life love playing video games etc on the side started my channel. I never thought there was this many black Drs didnt even think it was possible but you woke me up for sure! Love your channel keep up the gr8 content. Have a 3.7gpa currently in college deff I treated in Medicine thx to you!
Thank you!
Seems like a very rewarding career 👏👏
Are you a patreon of this channel because you're loyal
K G With my med student tuition, I probably need a patreon myself 😂

How to mentally and emotionally survive dental school?!
Thanks for the video. I’ve missed the ‘careers in medicine’ series. Can you do an interview with a pathologist?
this was SO helpful. thank you!!!
This is sweet. Thanks for the interview
I want to be a pediatric dentist
Go for it!!

I'm a third level dental student
I'll do my best
Paying half a million dollar for a dental education, they should definitely invest into business courses!!! They have plenty of money
God bless you !!
Very inspiring and interesting ❤️❤️❤️
How much does she make
This is very informative and inspiring for me. Does she have children?
I just wished people were more honest just say money was a big factor and if that wasn't why don't you give away 25% of your salary to the less unfortunate.
This was a great addition for the week! Very insightful.
If you want to know more about pediatric dentistry check out the below video. It has good info. I hope it will help you 👍 😊

This interview was infuriating. I hate that people "settle" with dentistry because they didn't feel like or couldn't get into other medical professions. I've heard this so much over the years of people who wanted to become surgeons or other types of doctors. As someone who's insanely passionate about dentistry this is so annoying to hear. I'm not saying everyone is born knowing they love teeth, but sheesh at least have SOME interest. And to know she chose peds"by a process of elimination"...(insert eyeroll)...just wow. Poor kids...How about loving children? Wanting to change the trajectory of the dental field, eliminate dental angst at the core by giving kids positive experiences. Just so many other reasons to work with kids...Not specifically for this dentist but this is how you produce crappy doctors who do terrible work. They just "fell" into the field. Doctors like this are the reason I want to go to dental school. As a former babysitter turned pediatric and orthodontic dental assistant you have to really love kids and want to do right by them...not for the money. I've worked (and quit) along side terrible dentists who just wanted to do patch work. Just burns me up.
Dr. Webb, you should interview a Neonatologist or a Medical Geneticist
How much does a pediatric dentist make?
How long does it take to pass dental school ?
Hey Antonio I would love to see an interview with a pediatric orthopedic surgeon
But he interviewed a black dentist before....
Gaelle Elysse-Kercy He said he never met a black dentist
Maxi B. Yes he did but this is PEDIATRIC dentist!
Balla Jallow Relax. But go back and listen to what he exactly said. “...dentist in general”. He messed up.
👍💛☺
I have a crazy idea which might cure scoliosis the good doctor did a crazy idea in season 1 episode 6 in titled not fake so the surgeons treat patients who come in from a bus crash and dr Shaun Murphy and doctor Melendez treat someone with a broken femur and the patient manages to survive using a titanium femur so why not 3-d print 2 titanium spinal cords because 3 is better than 1 advantages the original one will be cured and 2 others will be added next to it but attached to the original spinal cord
