I don't think the EU is responsible for British silliness.
"Brexit itself - don't try it at home!" The best quote about Brexit so far.
Stefaan de Rynck is a smart Belgian , i’m proud of him .
And diplomatic..., you can be proud.
Clear speak and very professional ... Now let here May , Borris, Farage and see the difference
Brilliant. Clear, thoughtful and intelligent.
Played for the media, this guy is just a muppet for the EU, all he is doing is promoting the EU in the smugness to have humiliated the UK and in fairness to him, I would have done exactly the same, based on May's so called Special Deal.
@@apartmentswales Your ignorant fear is typical. You fucking dimwit.
Excellent interview and respect for Stefaan, Michel has a top advisor! Very respectfull, but if listen to carefully clear on the major foundations.
Wonderful presentation and his demeanor sums up what's wrong with UK politics. He talks about complexities of international, geographical relationships. Brexit leadership talks in terms of war rhetoric.
Nice that you cannot even distinguish between Germany and the EU or NATO and the EU, but then that's not surprising at all.
@@samhartford8677 What are you even talking about? You are clearly very confused... are you one of those people who think Brexit is "sabotage" instead of the UK getting precisely what it demanded, not understanding what any of it means?
@@biocapsule7311 Sorry, this was a mistake. I accidentally replied to the wrong message - was supposed to answer the person whining about Germany's war debt.
I wholly agree with you!
@@samhartford8677 Ah... my bad, should have figured it was something like that.
Watching this in 2022, when the UK is stll huffing and puffing about the backstop/frontstop there is only one thing to say: Can't cure stupid. Time for the UK to understand that the EU red lines here are non-negotiable.
sensible man. It this man represents a European, then more brits should be like him
A wonderful, fair-minded and clear-thinking man. Brexiteers please note well.
Look around the comment section. Brextards and brexiteers all seem to be convinced de Rynck is a liar, EU lackey, or an idiot.
And you may take three guesses why that is
Excellent interview.
When will people understand that when after 2 years one signs a withdrawal agreement then negotiations are over?
Some time after their legitimate representatives sign it one would expect.
Not really
negotiations are never over
@@davemurphy2020 Yes they are after you agreed on and signed the withdrawal agreement. If the UK send a negotiator without mandate and majority in parliament then this is pitiful.
Meh. Deal with it.
What a sensible discussion of Brexit!
You can see there isn't the emotion we have in the U.K.The Belgian talks factual with intelligence,That is lacking in the U.K
Every Brexiteer should see this.
No seat at any table!
Look said Britain, I am jumping off a cliff, let that be a warning for you EU.
Hurri - typical Remoaner negative view. Britain wants a clean break independence - there is no cliff - the EU wants to continue trading with the UK and visa versa - already numerous solutions are in place - trucks will continue to move, planes will fly and the EU will be able to access London’s financial markets. The ‘cliff’ is a remoaner mindset. But don’t worry - positive leaver mindset will sort it.
@@frze5645 , I very much doubt you know what the architects behind brexit want, you are just sheep.
@@frze5645 Wisen up
@@frze5645 11 months later. EU rejects Boris' proposals on London's financial SERVICES full access to the EU market UNLESS they accept ECJ jurisdiction. This is obvious and unsurprising. Why would the EU allow the UK to manage our finances if they are not BOUND by EU Law in doing so?
As for the Banks offering these financial services, do you think banks are nationalistic? Or do you think they care about profit and market access? Are you under the impression that only Brits know how accounting works? You overestimate the importance of your little island nation.
Brexist it' an english problem and NOT european...They must found the solution...
@ He can't even spell "our", no point expecting anything from him. From the average intelligence of Brexiteers I've conversed with over the years, it is obvious that Brexit is the result of a lack of proper education and decades of misinformation.
So how does the resolution happen for Brexit with no possibility of renegotiation ? I understand Mr De Rynck's position, however it doesn't resolve the outstanding issues. Let's deal with facts folks, if there is a no deal, then how are the EU going to enforce anything at all to do with either British or Irish sovereign territory ? Answer, they cannot. So who is talking pie in the sky , Britain, or the EU ?
The english.
Lewis Brand : in case of a no deal, or if your PM's deal is approved by the HoC, the E.U. will support the Republic of Ireland.
Divorce deal is Not Trade Agreement ! 😈 after implementation period WTO could be the only viable option for years to come ! 😜
Withdrawal agreement. Two years and it still has to sink in. No deal is the only deal as there is no deal to be made while UK is still in
Interesting, but it needed a boost to the mix, maybe Nigel or Mr Mogg, you have simply allowed this EU Side kick of Barnier a platform to make the EU seem like the good guy.
Mr Spence Eng
The people you suggest, are known spinners and skilled in distorting the truth. This video is not about that it is about explaining the standpoint of the EU nothing to do with politics as such. If you come away with the impression that the EU is the good guy you are probably right. Looking back to the start in 2016 the EU has been very consistent about it’s values and behaved in predictable way. Britain on the other hand has been anything but predictable just looking for ways to divide and conquer and failing miserably.
@@dutchuncle3310 I am always amused by what each of us sees, whether it is two people looking at a painting or two people describing something each of them have seen or in this case the EU defending it's position on Brexit.
As to the UK and your statement of its intention to divide and conquer, well sorry but all I see from my side of the Fence is Mrs May floundering out of her depth trying to negotiate against Trained EU Professionals, who have made her seem stupid and inept in the eyes of her Nation, to achieve what!?! a Deal, a Deal made in Hell one that locks us in to become Europe's poor Cousin with all the obligations and non of the benifits.
As to Divide, she could not split a Cake into portions, all she managed to do was get her knickers taken off and have them take it in turns to slap her ass! and send her red faced back to the UK.
But as the The Merovingian once said, Mark my Words and Mark them well, this will all end in Tears at Bedtime for all concerned. Mr Spence Eng ApartmentsWales.com
@@apartmentswales So as far as you're concerned when discussing going to the moon. There must be moonlanding conspiracy 'theorist' to offer an opposition perspective when talking to NASA specialists.
If that's what you want, go back to watching the BBC
@@wolfetone2012 Not the best analogy, but I do think one should walk around with some sort of skepticism rather than just be part of the herd. Your take on the BBC, I am not quite sure of the context that was meant.

Have adult conversations, discuss the future of defending the EU without having a treacherous, cowardice excuse for an 'ally' as the UK in the room
Nothing you have written makes any sense. GobbleDeeGook
@@wolfetone2012 Are you aware there is an organisation known as NATO? That organisation is responsible for the EU's military security. The UK is a member of NATO.
@@geoffallibone2270 Don't make me laugh. Without the USA to provide the armed forces, NATO isn't much use to anyone.
Much better to go self-reliant when it comes to armed forces. Something in line with EU foreign legion, except here EU citizens have the option to serve either their national or EU military. Fifty years from now the EU may not need military forces on a national level at all. Doesn't mean it would be banned, just not deemed required by the citizenry.
What we do know for sure is that the UK is unreliable as an ally. We have centuries of history to show england is the worst of allies. And more recent history has proven the UK to be more of a danger to our own forces than our supposed enemies ever were

"The EU said. No, no, no. The money question is about settling the accounts from the past."
After WWII Germany started to pay reparations. But they were starving, so we let them off.
American presidents have repeatedly warned that EU countries are not putting into NATO the amount of troops and material that they had committed to. The UK did keep their promises.
So very definitely it is a question of "settling the accounts from the past", and the EU has made no attempt at all to do this.
The EU has debts to the UK.
Nice that you cannot even distinguish between Germany and the EU or NATO and the EU, but then that's not surprising at all.
I got as far as 'you cannot be imprisoned in a federal system' Had to go for a walk. Only an academic could produce an article 50 that means so much yet say's so little, after all 'imprisoned' is a purely relative term. The EU is so totally corrupted, and is indeed full of shit.
No dimwit that would be you.
You are a prisoner of your own invention. Read lots and expand your points of reference.
@@geoffallibone2270 Well read thanks. I would have voted to join the EEC in 72 if I had been old enough. No resentment nor regrets there. But having watched in dismay at the social and political disaster the EU have wrought in the last 25 years I realise that we as Europeans have been had over. Brussels has the same imperfections as any other centralized government, difference being we cannot change Laws or policies democratically, and each country is at the mercy of minority groups within the EU, for the EU has total power without a mandate. We also have to suffer the tax burden of what amounts to a dubious political experiment.
A visit to the EU museum in Brussels is a bit of an eye opener to one who has been educated in the 'free' world. 'Corruption' is putting it mildly. Worse still is the contempt that is held for the poorest European Nations in the name of freedom. The Freedoms the EU offer are just beads for the Natives, Whilst essential and hard won freedoms are relentlessly eroded.
