Mascon Leather - Jak na to + styl
I rarely ever seen a video that shows how to be precise and accurate. This is the first, and I took up the hobby since last year June. This gentleman really takes time on aspects where most of newer people go wrong but without having to mention it, I just can pick up “yeah, true, that part the stitch holes didn’t line up” or “how the f do I cut straight?” And I struggled a lot with the latter as sometimes I cut too much on the line or too less and spending extra time restarting or shaving off. This is a great video and professional
Thank you for that! And thanks for watching
All the old videos with you writing out the process definitely led to the mystery of the man behind the camera. But since you've gotten in front of the camera I really enjoy hearing you talk to the process. I also feel like it gives you more opportunity to explain more in depth. Continue being awesome, Artie
Thanks, sir!!! The talking makes the editing process twice as complicated. So instead of 50 hours to edit a video, it’s now 70. 😆
No body does it better. Your work is a pleasure to watch. Thanks Artie.
Thanks for that, James!
You talking & explaining makes such a great addition!
Thanks!!
The voice over is a definite plus... Always enjoy watching your work!
Thanks !!
Love the voice overs, adds so much to your already top quality videos. Some brilliant tip thank you
Thanks for that!!
Thank you. I enjoy the way you present your content. very low key yet informative... And you don't get bent out of shape when your significant other yells out when your filming... You just roll with it. Considering this is a two year old video I am hoping that you got the milk.
Thank you! Yes. I got the milk. 😉
Home run Artie!! You explained that beautifully. You are master at your craft, Cheers 🥃🥃 I appreciate you
Thanks, sir!! And thanks for watching!
Glad to see you back - missed your videos. Best leather crafter videos on CZcams by far, and some of the best production period. For me, I like both the voice and non-voice content. You inspire.
Thank you for that!!
As always - this is great Artie. And so cool that you are talking through the process.
Thanks!!! Sometimes, the taking just makes it a bit easier to articulate the complicated bits. I’m trying! Thanks for watching!
I love watching your videos man. They have helped me alot in my leather crafting. Keep up the good work!

GREAT video Artie! Once again you set the bar very high, with superb craftsmanship, and tremendous videography. I can't begin to guess how many hours it takes to edit a video like this. I really appreciate all the work and effort you put into the craft and your sharing and teaching!
😆. I was just telling someone ... the voice edits now make the 50 hour editing process a 70 hour process

Love your work. You make it look easy boss
Thanks!!
Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom, and the work you put into the vibe of the videos. I have learned so much from you, and enjoy watching you create.
I do of course have a question- you went cowboy on the top holes with the awl, but I couldn't follow what the reason for that is. When should we be using an awl in stitch holes? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching!!
Thank you. Very nice 👍👍👍
Thanks! And thanks for watching!
Wonderful video man. As always. Motivates me to finish a belt project a co-worker's mother is buying from me. Got the belt all done, it's based of Rey's belt from Star Wars. Now just gotta make the phone pouch for it.
Perfect! I’m glad I can inspire!
Don't forget to get the milk. But seriously I watch the videos to get the feel on how different people do the same thing. I like some of your techniques thanks👍

@@MasconLeather Thanks from bottom of my heart and I'm learning alot by watching your videos, sir do you provide any courses for leather craft work please do enroll me
Thanks again!!! I gave 70+ videos here on CZcams. All free.
Nice! I have a grandson (11 yo in June) who wants grandma to make him a wallet.. Guess his name! Yeah, you got it, his name is Casper! But I need to do something different since kids use coins... And I'm so new in this that I have some thin leather, and thread and a darned good imagination! Just have to get a nice design... And I don't have any fancy tools to make nice edges .. and no stitch pony. I would had a great help from one so I 'll make me one... 👍 I might be a crazy grandma, but I make it somehow! And he will be happy! Thinking using zipper for the coins. Have sewn zippers before but not in leather... Exciting! I'll make it! 😉
Awe !!!! Love this !!!! My first stitch pony was about 10 minutes to make. And scrap wood from garage. And , it worked !
@@MasconLeather I went to the hard ware store today and they didn't have what I needed.. 😏 I might have to figure out another solution to my stitch pony.. I will find a way. I'm a grandmother with imagination so I'll work it out. There's no hurry.. 😎
Time is a good thing to have. And make it fun. No pressure
Awesome! More vids!
Thanks!!! Be sure to check out the previous 50+ videos if you haven’t already. 🤘
I think ive watched them all. 👍
Thanks for that!
Nice 💪
Thanks!!
I love watching and learning from your videos. I do have one question...Who made the spike hammer for you?
Thanks!
My son, “mascon forge” made the hammer. He’s on Instagram
Nice video
Thanks!
Excelente👍👍👍
Thanks!
You should make a cigar leather case for two Churchill cigars!!!!👍👍
I did a pen / cigar case. 👍
Nice
Thanks!
You have no idea how much your videos mean to some of us. You are a wealth of knowledge and all your videos are greatly appreciated. How does the Japanese cutting mat hold up? I noticed your glue is a lot thinner than mine. I use Barge and it is pretty thick. Does thinning it out effect the adhesion? Soak in to the leather better? Inquiring minds want to know.
Thanks Artie
Mark
Thanks for all of that! Japanese mats are great. Barge: yeah. Needs to be thinned often. For penetration
There's lots of really great leather craftsmen and craftswomen here on YT, but yours are the most fun to watch. What's the stuff in the jar you use for edge burnishing?
Thank you so much for that!!! (Burnishing stuff is a proprietary blend of goo)
VERY COOL BROTHER- LIKED AND SUBSCRIBED
Thanks!!!
I test everything I make before I make it for anyone else. Right now I'm one year with one of my wallet designs. I'd say it's a great design. Minor adjustments to be made after I get moved into new place. Cost me 5 bucks for some scrap leather and some thread.
Perfect!!
They must call you "Tappy McGee" down at the pub, because jeeee whizz you love to tap stuff!
Tappetty tap tap tapperoo!
Good work also.
😆
I still have a hell of a time punching holes for stitching, any good pointers on getting descent holes. I have a couple sets of the Tandy Pro pricking irons. Can’t get a good line close to the edge (on the stitching line).
Maybe try backing off edge some. And the rest is just practice and patience
nice Eames Lounger!
Very nice. What I would like to see is instructions for an RFID blocking wallet. I can't figure the best way to line it with the rfid blocking cloth. Sandwiching a cut up soda can works but using the cloth I think would be more professional as you wouldn't have to hide it. Anyway that is my vote. A minimalist RFID blocking wallet.
I won’t be showing that ... my wallets are already too complex and thick, I’m not in the market to add more. 😆
Good morning!
Hey!!!
Dope
Thanks!
BTW what did you scuff up the edges with before you glued them?
Leather rougher. My sons make them…. And we sell them.
Email me for more info. Artimus71@gmail.com
Just found your videos this weekend (4/15/22) LOVE your vides, (most don't have annoying music, I enjoy the sound effects), well filmed and edited. Do you have a place where we can buy pdf patterns or links?
Thanks for that!!! It’s nice when folks appreciate the videography! (And rare). I don’t sell my designs.
Thanks for watching!!!
Definitely worth losing a bit of sleep to watch this. Your work always turns out amazing! Where did you get the rasp style tool for roughing up the edges? Sorry not quite sure what it was called. May definitely have to look into getting me some of that leather if I can find some small enough off cuts to afford it. It looks amazing to work with!!!
Thanks, Brian!! My son makes the roughers. He’s on Instagram:

@@MasconLeather I appreciate it I will definitely look into it for sure
Hi great video once again. Where did you get your stitching irons?
