Lewis there are no real photographs from space of the earth that we are ever shown & there is a reason for that because they do not have any. So say 50 years ago they put men on the moon. Don't you ever wonder why they do not send men there now? Technology had moved forward 50 years & no trips to the moon. The real reason is they tried but realised they could not do it. We haven't gone back to the moon because of cuts in NASA's funding, it's very expensive and NASA aren't going to send people there just because we can. Water doesn't sit flat, it reacts to forces that are applied to it. Usually that's gravity. Of course it looks flat when you are at the surface, it's too large to see a curve up close. I see, The UK is only visible in the first 5 seconds on the left. The ISS is flying West to East, parallel to the English Channel.

The camera is approaching from the West. The first land we fly over is Brittany in the centre of the image and Cornwall is to the left of that.
