  • Lars has never really been a very popular character in competitive Tekken since Tekken 7. Despite being very strong In Tekken 8, the same issue seems to have carried on to this game as well. Kaizokulars Lars is one of the fewest competitive Lars Tekken player left and he has shown just what this character is capable of.

    Lars doesn’t have enough tools to be picked more in tournaments if he was actually slept on he’d have a showing to express that like shaheen that’s a slept on character right there

      Bears were bottom 5 at launch as well but look how that has turned out😅
      Bottom 5 is crazy to me..Arslan has never really rated Lars since T7.
      It'll just take a really good player to reach far with him in tourney for people to realize it.

    They need to give Lars the tools from tag 2 he lost & build onto them
    1. Give him back his ACTUAL df 2! Locking it behind fc is dumb. Move the new df 2, uf 2.
    2. Give him back his OG 1+2 from T6 & TT2 and simply build on it. Allow him to still cancel it by holding back. Give it a 1+2~3 low option thats +10 on hit, +20 on CH, -20 on block. Give it a 1+2~4 high option thats +4 on block, gives a knock down on hit & a launch on CH
    3. Give DE 1+2 T6 & TT2 back. Make the new one f, 1+2. This move was a slower mid, iirc 19 or 20 frame start up? Make it unique by having it be Lars' only move thats able to transition into either SE, DE or LE. Have it be 0 on block if no transtion is done. +5 if they choose SE, +3 if the choose DE & +6 if they choose LE. Sounds crazy idc. It should class 1 launch on CH
    4. I'm not a tekken expert. But the db 1, 3 has always felt under tuned to me. Its not a NC if the low hits? Nothing bad happens like a launch or a guranteed follow-up big boy follow-up if the press on it, thinking you wont complete the string. And its horrible if they just block it..... its really a just a mind game of mental "plus" frames.
    I like using this move alot still. It honestly was one of the main reasons why i didnt like LE at 1st. I miss being able to do the cancel into just stepping into the forground quicker to try & cause a whiff into Arc Blast
    Speaking of.... 5😅. It'd be cool a lars had a false LE stance. One that looked like the old db 1, 3, d animation? But the point of it is that theres no options out of it? But you could true cancel the animation into anything. Fits Lars inmho, since Lars has a lot of "fake" tech. Allow him to have a unique real "sleight of hand" type option
    Speaking of fake tech.... 6😅. Allow his buttons into SE that side switch WORK on grounded opponent's & when in heat? Honestly we should be able to side switch on block... yep i said. Idc. Also fix it, change it, to where Lars stops drunk driving when the Lars player successfully hits the opponent with a button into DE or SE. Idc how they do it, give heat smash tracking. Allow him to pressure & mix in his own unique way.
    Idk, thinking about stuff like this with tekken has always been fun to me. My favorite fighting series easilly

    Not my type of character, too unga bunga for me 😆.
    I think coaching should be reserved more for grand finals if there is a bracket reset. Problem is it breaks the action and potentially the momentum of the winning playet. I am of the belief that since a single player wins these championships that it should come down more to that single player's skill, knowledge, judgment, and execution.

    • @edwarddame6047
      @edwarddame6047 Před měsícem +3

      Coaching has existed for years and will continue to exist.
      Breaks and coaching happen in most every sport & esport. In combat sports like MMA & boxing, athletes are coached in between rounds. Coaching in between games is analogous in Tekken.

    • @YellowFellow86
      @YellowFellow86 Před měsícem

      @@edwarddame6047 Respectfully I would disagree.
      Gaming is more mental and is a more crowded event than a fight night card.
      Again not against it in bracket resets in finals but the problem is in a competition that is hopefully growing in spectators it seems harder to time manage all the competitors involved. We want to attract as much people to the fgc I think we need to be concerned about the spectator perspective a little bit. It was a common complaint that these games felt drawn out due to the large amount of coaching.
      In a professional fight the time management is a lot easier due to only having to manage 2 corners.
      I do not know if other tourney scenes have more tourney officials but my local does not have enough and opponents can take too long for coaching. Then events take longer to complete, then less people will want to deal with that.
      If you could have a strict timekeeper for every 2 competitors while not slowing the progression of the tournament down then I would be more for it?

    • @edwarddame6047
      @edwarddame6047 Před měsícem

      @@YellowFellow86 That sounds like a problem with your local rather than coaching in general. I haven't had any issue with coaching in between games on stream from a spectator standpoint.
      Combat sports are incredibly cerebral as well, it's not fair to make a blanket statement that games are more mental.
      I've competed in both fighting games and combat sports and value coaching as both a competitor and a spectator.
