    Can't wait to see it come together. I would consider if you put the wood so it goes out of the other side how likely are you to knock it or catch it as you walk by it? Toward the book case it might be more protected from accidents. Just a thought.

  • @pegrarni
    @pegrarni Před 2 lety

    Hey there. Few quick questions. The rocks covered in BB algae.. Did you clean them and reuse them or is it beter not to reuse them? And let's say they are covered in Bb Algae but want to clean them up, can you do that outside the aquarium and if so, how to do it safely? And I never hear you talking about H2O2 (Hydrogen Peroxide) in low dosage (syringe or spray bottle) whereas I've had some great results with this to kill of BB Algae. Why is that?

    • @MJAquascaping
      @MJAquascaping  Před 2 lety

      I basically placed the rocks outside in the sun, so the algae is all dried up and pretty much dead. With a little scrub they should be good to reuse again! If you want to take the rocks out and kill bba fast I would just place the rocks in a bucket with some bleach, and then scrub them clean.
      I've used H202 in the past, and sometimes I still use it. It does work well, but I just prefer liquid carbon.

    • @pegrarni
      @pegrarni Před 2 lety

      @@MJAquascaping So grateful for your answer. 🙏 If you don't mind my getting further into the matter? How do you determine if a rock cleaned with bleach is aquarium safe? Is a high pressure cleaner an option? To get into the crevasses? A friend of mine cleans his wood this way whenever he notices algae (rainwater though). But will this throw off the balance? Kill beneficial bacteria? In other words, how much of the balance depends on beneficial bacteria living on wood and rock?

    I subscribed around the time you set up the big shallow. My how time flies. One piece of advice for you and everyone reading, BBA does not like sunlight. Now that the rocks are out of the tank, put them outside in direct light for a couple days and it will all disappear. It would be a shame to lose such magnificent rocks/stones. Looking forward to the upcoming videos. My vote is no CO2, but do what makes you happy/satisfied. Take care.
