    Thank you for your video. For those who are unaware, Chinese Bread Stick (油 条 怪) which in Cantonese "Youtiao Gwai" means Oil Fried Devils originated from medieval China as protest against the Song Dynasty corrupt politician Qin Hui (秦 檜) who with his villainous wife Wang Shi (王 氏 ) treacherously plotted the wrongful execution of the hero Yue Fei (岳 飛). Therefore Qin Hui and his wife Wang Shi are represented as the two halves of Youtiao Gwai and eaten in mockery against the two despised traitors.

    When in Vietnam and Cambodia I have these with the Vietnamese style coffee where the sweetened condensed milk sits on the bottom of the cup and that wonderful coffee sits over it. Dip and sip....delicious!

    Trang, thank you so much for the enormous amount of work you have put into these videos. I finally have found a way to learn how to make the dishes that are near and dear to my heart from scratch and without having to turn the audio off. My teenage daughters are enjoying making these dishes with me as well. I hope you realize the positive impact you have made on our future generations all over the globe. You are bringing them home, one recipe at a time.

    I always love how thorough you are with your instructions. You are such a good teacher and it shows in your videos. I would never make these as I'm not as gaga over them as others and not a big fan of deep frying, either, but I still appreciate the amount of time and effort you put into your videos. I was going to make a comment about how you should make congee or something to show people how they are eaten but then I scrolled through your comments and see that you made chicken congee! Yippee! I love me some congee, so I'll take a look at your recipe. :) I think you should have pinned that at the top of the comments or maybe add it to the details below your recipe? Thanks again for an amazingly detailed recipe. Stay awesome!
    Update: I just took a look at your congee recipe and it looks delicious! Why didn't you do a video for it? Maybe a video of a trio of congees? One with pork, chicken, and fish? :)

    • @RunAwayRice
      @RunAwayRice  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi friend, making these breadsticks takes a good amount of effort and if you're not a big fan of deep frying, it's a tough sell...lol. I was thinking the congee recipe was too simple for a video so decided just to share a recipe post instead. Perhaps I'll share the video for fish congee in the future as it's one of my favorite wintertime meals. Thank you for your kind words and support!

      Hi John, bánh tiêu không nướng được, vì bánh sẽ bị chai và cứng, chỉ khi chiên deep fry bánh mới nổi phồng và xốp, ngon. Riêng dầu chéo quẩy có thể nướng vì hơi giống bánh mì, nướng 375o F trong 10-15 phút, canh chừng trở bánh cho vàng đều. Chúc bạn thành công!

      Use a bit more water and press down a bit more firmly to get the 2 pieces to stick together. Good Luck!
