Being home to some of the UK's best and most thrilling rollercoasters and attractions, i count down my 10 favourite rides at the park - including The Smiler, Wickerman, Rita and even Galactica! Will Nemesis or Thirteen make the list? Will any of the parks flat rides even make it? Find out here!

i once went on 13 with my friend who had never been to Alton and when we got to the drop track I said that's it were done now and his face was priceless when we dropped
Did the same thing to my mate, just before we went in I said it was done. Then right before it dropped I went "oh btw do you like drops?" She punched me after we got off. Worth it! 😂
That’s my favorite ride
When I went on Oblivion, I had made a deal with my friends that because I didn't go on smiler, I had to go on Oblivion. I froze, my friends kept asking whether I was okay and I told them not to touch me and don't say a word. I stared into the abyss of the drop and didn't scream, just stared like I was gonna die because that's how I felt😂

Great to see the Smiler make the top of the list! When I was in Florida a couple weeks ago, it's the ride everyone talks about in the UK and people from other countries rank it so much higher than most of us Brits do
Absolutely love that ride - I feel with it being in our country we say it's much worse than it actually is 😂🔥

I love 13 so much cause the first time i rode it the backwards part caught me so off guard and it made me cautious of every other ride for the rest of the day. Definitely a good ride to start on if your bringing friends whove never been
Personally I think Rita is underrated. Lots of positive G's, fast launch, airtimeless 'airtime' hills. If you like speed and positive G's, its a good ride.
I hit my head from the wind every time I go on it
I have slated it a lot more than it deserved to be fair, it's a good little coaster! 🔥
@@DigitalDan Just don’t be that guy that doesn’t have put their head back, saw that happen to someone on stealth. Their head was pushed off the side of the headrest!! Just take that advice, and maybe put your had in front of your face and you’ll have a great ride.
Minus the trip to the sky. This ride looks to be just as badass as stealth is. Alton towers it is. I've never been. Going this Friday 27th.
I got scared more on rita then any ride because of that launch. Is it weak compared to others, yes. But it was my first launch and I was not expecting it lol.
I was so happy when you said smiler was number one. Such an unappreciated gem. But still the burger kitchen will always be the best ride so yea

I’m going to Alton towers today
13 is a really pleasant ride to ride, I'm not gonna pretend the stopping dropping and going backwards doesn't feel a little tired at this point but the part through the woods is actually super enjoyable for me

Its just kinda boring, maybe because I rode it after i did galactica, nemesis and Rita but I just don’t know it’s missing something
I went to Alton towers a month ago and went on the wicker man thinking that it was overrated. Absolutely not I loved every second of it

Haha, Smiler, Oblivion and Spinball Whizzer are the best!! I went on the Oblivion twice, My friend passed out on it, On Spinball Whizzer, All you could hear in the background was my boyfriend screaming, I wasn’t even on the same cart as him 😂 and The Smiler, I passed out 3 times, 1st time being before we got outside, second was going through the first loop and the last time being just before the 90ft drop. What was the First rollarcoaster in my life? The smiler! Fave place in the world!

Sitting on the back of Thirteen when it goes down those hills is so fun, I just wish there was more backwards bit. I can never decide if I prefer Nemesis or The Smiler, just bloody love them both, really hope the retrack if Nemesis doesn't do it dirty 🙏 but I do think The Wickerman is either too rough or too fast for the type of trains, if it had headrests it would be fine but the first time I went on it it jolted or something and my head smacked the back of he chair, I'm not even sure how but that was a nice lil headache for the rest of the day - and I'm only 5"10 so I can't imagine how rough it feels if you're taller

I think wicker man is definitely too rough but that's the best part, especially if you sit near the back, the pull of the cart makes you feel like you're going amazingly fast

When I first when on smiler after I got of I could bearly walk my legs where shaking so much but I straight when on oblivion 😊
The Chained Oak that Hex Talks about is literally metres away from the entrance of the park. Its close to a B&B and down a wooded pathway. You can still see the rusted chains on the branches

For once someone that actually puts Smiler at number 1. It's an amazing ride and crazy how compact it is. I swear everyone else goes 3. Smiler 2. Wickerman 1. Nemesis. FOR ONCE AN ACTUAL FRICKING REALISTIC RANKING

Me, I'm everyone else 😂 smiler was top when I first rode it but I got over the hype and nemmy is my baby and trumps smiler because of the intensity, plus I live for wickerman's theming, music, station and atmosphere and I just find it so fun especially on the back row, obviously everyone's entitled to their own opinions though :)
@@dodga3449 I'm not Calidex, but Smiler feels like more of a complete and a standout ride over Nemesis.

Went on smiler the first time a few days ago it was mind blowing
when I was waiting to go on oblivion, I was absolutely terrified and before it has the massive drop. Bu t, the best bit was when it does a slight stop at the edge of the drop and it a sick👊. Highly recommend on going on it, I wish I went on the smiler tho.

Legit went to Alton towers on Friday, my first time going on a rollercoaster ngl top 3 are nemesis, smiler and galactica
As soon as u said umber three could be seen from oblivion and it is, and advert came along saying hay fever relief
I love all the rides you mentioned in this list Dan. I'm torn between the Smiler and Wicker Man as my favourite coaster. I'll be going on the 31st May and I may go before on 29th aswell. When are you next going?

I went a couple of weeks ago and Hex was closed! I was gutted! First time I’ve been back since smiler was built so going on that was epic!

I went to alton towers yesterday and the line was so long it took two hours to get throught and i was with my mate..while we were in the line she was getting angry at me because i was singing the smiler theme and it was driving her insane😂she threatand to tickle me if i didnt stop but i just carried on singing because why not...when we was on the ride she was lached to her seat and wouldnt let go of the handles meanwile theres me with my hands in the screaming woo hoo having the time of my life
Smiler is definitely my number1 fave ride so far at alton towers it just has this feeling to it that you cant let go of....i guess thats why the video says"you belong to the smiler"

I nearly got stuck on spin jam, they literally had to turn it off and on again so we could be let out of the restraints, I also nearly passed out so that’s very nice

Great vid Dan!! Personally I would put Nemesis above The Smiler cause the final couple of inversions hurt my shoulders (6ft 4 lad) but they're both still great rides!!!

@@lucasthom3249 Smiler is pretty self explanatory, as half the guests visiting will rush to it 30 mins before its even open. The last day I went, Rita had a 70 mins queue and 13 was closed. next time I am definitely going on them thgh. Can't wait!

I went to Alton towers the other day I went on wickaman and it was my first time and I sat by the edge that turns the most
Literally visited there for the first time yesterday (its been a long time coming), and I have to say I agree with this ranking exactly (excluding Gangsta Granny, Hex and Whizzer since we didn't have time to get to them :(.) I was BRICKING it in the Smiler queue, but lord was it worth the buildup.
I also felt on top of the world after Nemesis. It was my first SLC, yet my parents (who had ridden before) were the ones feeling sick. XD
Its classed as an invert an SLC is oddessy infusion and kumali
I rember when I went to alton towers we lined up for spinn ball waited 1hour then it close when we was at the start of the line.my favourite is smiler.
My mate.. Zafara..who looks like my mate Anne..came with us to Alton Towers 1990 age 10..with my family unit of 4, younger brothwr included..and we had a lovely day out..and took a family extended picture..with Annes Dad in Naval uniform..❤..yeah..we ate loads of burgers and chips.. and yeah..the train journey home..and went home with the extended family..and Zafara's Nan gave a little Walkman gift❤❤❤..yeah..everything was great.. and helped with work..😇😁🇬🇧..year 1990..

also spinball whizzer and wicker man were over an hour queue but we had silver fast track for the other rides so that's we did all of them first

When you said you could see number 3 from oblivion I really thought it would be smiler, even knowing it couldn’t be
13 will always be high on my top 10 bc my first time terrified me, my dad told me there was only a small hill you go down luckily we were at the front too and at the end i was getting ready to get out of the cart and it bloody dropped me i thought it was gonna pull a final destination 3 and break 😭

Nice list! I went last Sunday and almost did all big 7, but unfortunately Th13teen closed on us twice 😂. Did Spinjam and Funk’n’Fly for the first (and possibly only) time and they weren’t too bad either
