Phony Funeral Home Trial: Coroner Takes the Stand

Shawnte Hardin, accused of operating a funeral home without a license, faces charges including abuse of a corpse. Dr. Diane Scala-Barnett, lead coroner in the Lucas County Coroner's Office, took the stand today. Dr. Scala-Bearnett testified that it was known by other funeral directors in the area that what Hardin was doing was "shady."
