A short guide on how the new sarco grab / clamp mechanic works in Path of Titans

Keep in mind everyone! You can't use clamp while gator dash is active, but if you clamp someone first, you can then use gator dash to rush someone to the water with you
this should be knowledge the devs share
Also, apparently quick logging prevents you from getting grabbed...👀
I think they added grab hides because other larger dinos might get grab.

There shouldn't be anything that prevents you from being grabbed. A smaller creature shouldnt even try to fight a bigger croc. Just dont go near them. Its called realism.
This game is not about realism. Metri and Lambeo can just scream and make your wounds heal up in seconds. Is it realistic? :)

@@xeox4280 you see, there's thing called game design and balancing. When your creature is unkillable it's also dumb af. Also raptors will NEVER kill Croc as it will simply move to water if low.
On the other hand, if Raptors wouldnt get that hide, they would be like, FORBIDDEN from drinking from any water sources but smaller ponds, cuz they have NO chances if grabbed, and sarcos are EVERYWHERE, in any big water source on the server I'm playing.
Sarcos can still oneshot any raptor with lunge+ambusher+charged bite, lmao

It can become op with very little changes. Its one of those dinos that can become op very quicky if not tuned properly. Its always gonna be an issue. Coming out of cc is always a annoying issue in games. The less cc the better. No body wants control taken away by other people.
Little note, slippery scales for stuff like dasp and sucho actually dont make you immune to grabs, slippery feather only does that
Both do prevent pounce, but slippery scales also prevents grapple from stuff like allos upcoming ability while slippery feathers is immune to grab
Just wanted to note that
It was made to stop the raptors from grabbing onto people as that much MORE of a problem atm.
However you have to spec into it which makes you more vulnerable to other Dino’s / situations
The only ones I don’t like that have this are latens and deinonychus. Because they too should know what it’s like to be grabbed
Then I think they should have made a hide that drains their stam quicker
Slick hide and slick feathers shouldn't exist, if sarco can't grab them then what's the point in adding grab? It doesn't even make sense for something as small as a raptor to not get grabbed by a large sarco all because of its slick feathers, along with creatures able to be grabbed in general. When something is grabbed by a croc in real life it's game over. Grab might as well have not been added at this point
Well fortunately they got nerfed and now you can grab them, and just lose more stamina than usual when they struggle to escape
Iggy getting a anti pounce hide is silly. It’s a water playable now which means your going to be in and around water a lot that provides you all the protection you need lol
Grab is not as good as its original concept but now it goes up to 3000 combat weight I think it should be 3500 that way they can grab pycnos, dasp, metri too. The move doesnt need a nerf it needs a buff. Like you have to be so precise to grab something so im glad it doesnt have a cooldown because it has a small hitbox
I really feel like deino and laten out of everything shouldnt have anti grab hide like that doesnt even make sense
Another way to balance grab would be to give it a stam cost so if you keep spamming it, it soon becomes useless to land the grab
Grab dont need to be nerfed dude, is unfair for sarco players , and they already received a nerf in their life (only 450 hp, 50 less than a Laten)
@@davidcabezastourino5331they abuse it to way to much the grab ability. Everytime i get get grabbed by a sarco it either holds me underwater or take me to other sarcos an hold me while they bite me. Like today i got grabbed by a sarco an then let go an grabbed and grabbed again and let go and so on. They just done it to watch me drown thats it

Anyone else annoyed how the Dino sub species change without giving you any options and then u have to reset a whole 5 bars progress and spend 500 marks just to get the sub species that you want? Literally all my Dino’s are messed up now it’s so annoying such a bad system
Sarco grab and raptor pounce definitely needs some touch ups. Firstly, it should have something like a 2-3 second cool down. Next the stam drain for when a raptor pounces something should be greater (I like the idea you had with slick hide and slick feathers). Another thing that should be changed about the grab is that instead of being about to grab things equal to or less than 60%, it should be increased to 65% (3000 combat weight to 3250). This way it can grab sty and metri, but not large things like pycno, dasp, or alberta (idk what to do for ano, it's weird).

As a raptor main I personally disagree with the greater stam drain since it goes away faster than it looks
I feel like it should be able to grab dasp. Its a pretty large croc so i think it should be able to grab things like that. I think the bigger a thing it trys to grab the more stamina it loses. Like if it tries to grab a rex it can only hold for half a second while things like struthi can be held or several minutes.
Metri is like the same size as dasp now. I believe alio is a perfect cap for sarco. Anything else should be reserved for a larger playable, like possible tylo.
One problem I’ve got with that is Sarco’s carry weight should be 3500 (It should grab Alberta it’s like the same size as sty) and the stam drain for when you grab youngins should be much less.
Make a vid about Asphyxiating bite vs the old ripping bite. Fun fact, you can do the combo with it like the old Ripping bite
Yee I noticed that combo too. They're basically handicapped versus a sarco without clamp.
Slick hide shouldn’t exist
It should but it shouldn’t keep you from being grabbed by a sarco
Also instead of making pounce impossible, it should just drain the attacker’s stamina faster

So what you're saying is sarco combat weight should go to 3500.
I think clamp is super balanced because it doesnt work on most of the roster. There are like 2 or 3 common dinos it reliably works on. I havent seen an ano in ages. Never gonna see a campto or struthi either. Basically just good for ceratos, kentros and babies.
They should have made the slippery hide EITHER pounce OR grab. Not both. Especially in the absence of an equally good option.

I think to counter grab as Ano they should make it where they cant be grabbed once the hunker ability is activated. An the minute they either stand up or lose their ability they can be grabbed. Just to stop sarcos from joining in on mixpackers trying to kill ya ano. An a sarco just goes an grabs you out of hunker. Its way to much of a direct counter to anos

They definitely can grab a Ano. I lost counts how many times my friends has to jump into the water to rescue me from sarcos when i was a Ano. You could write a dictionary on it. I even had some nice sarcos in the water who grabbed me an took me back to land. Whenever i needed water they had to come stand in front of me to block me from sarcos

Also just to point out for the weight i just checked a nile croc weighs around 750kg and up and it can take down and drag a water buffalo which is 900kg ...just saying atleast make grab a bit more of a threat
In Patch Notes, we read: "Metri has your size slightly increased".
Fr it was the same thought with me when they released pounce, just make it cost more stam, and even more when they are tryng to shake you off

I disagree with the final point. Grab's cooldown should only be increased once the hides are either removed or nerfed. Or at the very least sarco is made able to grab other stuff, such as metri, alb, styraco etc.
In my opinion the sarco shouldn't be able to grab a ano on hunker down like knock back doesn't work on a hunker down ano a secondly people should stop telling the devs and complaining to put cool downs and stam cost on awery single move on awery friken Dino
u can also grab an armargasaurus since its somehow under sarcos weight i checked in the stats by pot wiki

Imo Crushing/default. Running it with asphyx puts you at a severe disadvantage vs anything else that swims

It can carry pycno and dasp as it has higher combat weight than them
Sarco grab can only carry up to 3k combat weight, its independent of sarco's combat weight
@@aether9364I watched the latest video from @LowkeyKraze and he carried a pycno so assumed Dasp being the same combatweight could be picked up too
Most likely not fully grown OR in a community server where they edited combat weights. I test only on vanilla server stats.

i mean, i dont rlly think the slick hide is bad idea, yk how many raptor packs have been out here killin recently? everytime i turn around theres a group of raptors. I like the mechanics of it just because as an official player, these pounces can and will be abused
