- The DL-150 is a right angle dual lever BUG that has a wide speed range from 9 wpm to 40 wpm. It doesn't suffer from contact bounce, is very easy to adjust and can be maintained by its owner. It comes with 3 weights and speed changes throughout its wide range do not require readjustment of the dot contact For $150, it's a really good deal - at least in this reviewer's opinion.
I'm almost 70 years old and just got my license in September 2021. I became fascinated by QRP Morse code. I started learning to RX first now I'm starting a little TX training. I absolutely love the look of the key and your presentatio/review was tremendous. I going to order a key like this in time for Santa to make the delivery. 73's to you and your family this holiday season. God bless, KK7ASP
I really enjoy your videos Stan. I find your voice very relaxing. What a great key! I'm just starting to learn cw here in the UK. Maybe I'll look up KN4YB. 73
Thank you for this video. I just bought a Vibroplex and have had difficulty in getting the dits correctly set. I think I will sell that bug and get one like this.
Good breakdown. Yes, I am ready to aid my country
Vibroplex bugs aren’t bad. They have been around over 100 years. They take practice and proper adjustment. That said, I am interested in the new straight spring version of this dual lever.
It's beautiful. I wonder how close it is to the Mecograph in construction. You might recall that vibroplex essentially had to buy Mecograph. I am especially interested in a right angle key that approximates the Mecograph, as inventor William O. Coffe was based in Cleveland, Ohio. 73 DE W8LV BILL😂
Purchased one of these keys when they first became available they're okay the first thing I did was remount the key on a larger piece of metal for the base. The key is way too light for my liking having to hold the key with two hands while operating sorta sucks. Dot to dash is funky I never could get a 100% smooth dot-to-dash transition it's hard to explain it just felt awkward. Maybe my hand coordination is ingrained to use a Vibroplex and I just need to retrain my hand coordination. Anyway, the key is well built just not my cup of tea mine sits on the shelf and hardly ever gets used.
Which key do you like better... the Viz Key vertical key or the DL-150? And thanks for posting the videos! 73
