  • I ditched my IKEA Obegransad and snagged a Sony that was only slightly more expensive with way more functionality. Let's unbox and test out my new Sony PS-LX310BT turntable.

    Like Audio Technica's LP60 and a couple of other brands of inexpensive automatics, these turntables are great. Perfect for beginners. It will last you for years. Ignore the vinyl snobs, they're the cancerous part of the hobby, but easy to ignore when you realize they really have no idea what they are talking about. 😆

      I couldn't agree more (even though I'm a very happy rega owner) I know a few people who have similar tables and I'm impressed with what they are like, well priced and well built, and come standard with a great budget cartridge, same as the one that came on my p1. The automatic feature is something I wish rega did.

    • @TechCrazy

      Very well said. Vinyl snobs will never be happy even if the band performed in front of them let alone listen to it in vinyl.

      Why is it considered a "Beginner" automatics tho? I mean If this one sounds good why would I spend 800 dollars on a better one? We got this table too, best vinyl purchase I've done, it sounds just what you expect it to, but then again I got a proper AB class amplifier with big RF82 speakers 😂I agree on your take on vinyl snobs, if it works it works :D

    I have had this table for a few years now and use it daily and it is a great table. The built in phono re amp is also very good with three gain stages. For the price? You just can't beat this.It’s a Sony and they don’t make crappy stuff. Remember they made some of the finest and advanced (bio tracer) turntables back in the day. The vinyl snobs buy crappy stuff that look like home decor than a decent turntable for the money.I would choose a Sony any day over DIY project kinda tables.

    I’ve had this turntable since June 2020. I use it almost every day. I’ve got it hooked up to active Edifier S1000 MKII speakers. It works perfectly and produces great sound. I replaced the stylus after 2 years of use with an Audio Technica ATN3600 stylus. It just slotted on to the tone arm very easily. I won’t be changing this turntable anytime soon. It’ll do me for years to come.

    • @MisterYeko
      @MisterYeko Před měsícem

      most vintage turntable dont have a built in preamp. somewhere in the 90s, they include a built in preamp.
      To use a powered speaker (those with speaker wire). this is used for Receivers, even Micro HiFi Components and HiFi DVD players have these wires. But some wires have different mm size and even the specs of the speakers. You dont wanna mess it if its gonna escalate. and also do not plug the phono input with already built in pream turntable, because you get loud and distorted sound. since phono inputs have a very weak frequency to plug an built in phono stage. it exist some speakers having a external built in Phono Preamp.
      these spades or like wires that includes within the RCA have are ground cables. this is used for reducing the hum.
