Crowbox red button action

The Crowbox projekt.
Spring 2020:
The two 'adult' magpies, now definitely knows the action of the red button. The use both their picks and their feet to activate the button. The food dispenser is built into the 'Crowbox' which is situated just above the camera.
The dispenser is based on a vibrating solution, the box generates buzzing sound, and there might be some latency before the food is dispensed.
The magpie pair has their nest in the three right above the Crowbox, the nest seems to be full of chicks, some days the adult magpies collects more than 120 dog food pellets. The white detail in center of the red button is a detachable small cylinder. If it's removed, the red button stops working...this is a part of the next step in this experiment. Can the magpies understand the importance of the white cylinder ? Will they learn to put the white cylinder in place to get food ? Then there might be a chance to teach them to trade e.g. cigarette butts for food...

When one of the pole dishes is nearly empty, I get a tap on the kitchen window and a magpie is staring at me, he goes to the dish and comes back.
Right, I get two fat ball and crunch them open the Conservatory doors, go to the dish and full it up. Magpie is on the shed roof watching me. I go back in again and he goes to his food.
Problem is : the Collard Doves have learned to do the same thing now !

I think what you have made is incredible and will think about recreating one myself! My question for you is, why did the magpies come to the button in the first place? Did you have a treat in the bowl beforehand?

Раньше птицы просто клевали все в поле, а сейчас гуляешь такой, смотришь птиц летит, и думаешь наверное по делам полетел , деньги (крышки ) добывать, чтоб на еду обменять
