Back in the day when Lock On Modern Air Combat (LOMAC) first came out I was learning to fly the F-15C when a new member in our CoD section heard me talk about LOMAC and the F-15C. He was astonished seeing as he was a retired F-15C pilot that flew his first Phantom over Vietnam. Guess who became his wingman? Yeah, GS is great, but *sometimes* it *kinda* seems like one minor theme of his channel is "The F-15's not so great"...though, admittedly, he does often praise it. A major theme is definitely *All hail the Tomcat.* Also, cool as those videos are, I hate to say they're getting a little boring. He's memorized the flight characteristics of the planes, and every gunfight turns into just patiently running down the other plane. A fun channel, and a smart, funny guy...but seems kinda unrealistic. More like winning the game than simulating real air combat.

@@user-fw2dd2cy3c i really enjoy his channel, and he does praise the F-15 a lot, but i think his technical prowess does lend to some mundane fighting. i would find it more interesting if he gave himself greater challenges, like a dog fight where he was fully loaded and had tanks.

I don't have the patience for these hardcore sims anymore, but when I was in my teens I could probably fly an F/A-18 Hornet irl from playing the Jane's combat flight sim of the same name haha.
Is that a real tactics that after the merge the F15 would start to turn arround at high G with vertical scan? I would think that in this scenario the F 15 would not risk it and would jups pass through and extend and from a distance to try again? That is a question not a comment as I do not know and I am asking for opinions.
Judging by your setup, I’m guessing you have a preference between the controls on the F-16 versus the F-15.

It's called Track ir. You can use it on any flight simulator. It is great.
Do you know why they decided to make the radar screen so small in the F-15C? It's cool that is has a dedicated screen but I like the bigger screens in the F-15E.

It’s not better than track IR, and causes more headaches
VR does take a lot to build a tolerance for motion sickness but with the technology advancing at the pace it is I would say it’s better to hop on the trend before your left behind

Great content Max Afterburner. Where in the country are you located? I am putting together the initial planning for starting a flight school over the next 2-3 years mainly flying float for part 135. Were going to attempt to use VR flight simming for the majority of the training. New concept with lots of added bonuses would be amazing to have a pilot with your experience on the project. How are pilots paired with the aircraft? Like, how does pilot A fly say an F-18 but another pilot flies the F-22, or can they fly multiple aircraft?

Got an aviation question. RN it’s 115 freaking degrees in Texas and it got me thinking. Does flying in heat like this vs flying in the arctic make any difference in performance on the plane or the pilot? absolutely love the channel
Both for sure. If it is hot, air molecules are further apart by definition (less dense) so engines are less efficient. The difference between performance on a hot day and cold day is noticeable and even goes into the landing/takeoff roll calculations. For the pilot it makes a difference too, but fighter jets have good air conditioning because they are basically sitting in a greenhouse and would die otherwise. For GA flying, even without air conditioning, you can normally get high enough even on hot days such that you cool off pretty quick

@MaxAfterburnerusa It's become so easy to get into with the Quest line, Q2 being cheap and Q3 being nice. But stuff like DCS, high end headsets really shine.

@@HungwellAngerthy I would suggest asking someone with more experience with high end VR than myself. I'm new to VR and am only directly familiar with Quest 2 and 3 headsets.
That said, the new Crystal headsets are getting mostly good reviews and come in a good range of prices.

1 f15c against 7 f5 and none of them launched a missile? mmmm next time put f5s or f14 and the AI on maximum difficulty, because obviously they did not fire a single shot even though they had you within range and not having detected you on the radar they did not take a flanking or ambush position.
