Fest is awesome, if you ever get a chance to do it DO IT! I was lucky to grow up right down the road from this music scene. One of the best in the country, it even molded me into the person I am today

But even if, it'd have the toughest decision on which one to attend because my favorite to albums are basically New Wave and White Crosses. Anyways - Laura's voice, her performance and her energy here (not even talking about Atom Willard who's always kicking ass and James who hasn't changed a bit since forever) it's just great.. it's a beautiful thing to hear after 2 and a half hrs of getting their collective brains blown against the wall, a crowd of people sweaty and sexy and defiant til the bitter end screaming WOAHHHHH WOAH OH OH OH OHHHHH in Sink Florida Sink louder than a stack of Vox amps and a drum kit meant to be heard 3 counties over.
The thing is they have never sounded THIS good live. There's something here, this might actually be the best line-up they've had, as much as I LOVED Inge

They’ve been to Australia heaps of times. Art House Melbourne 2007 one of the best gigs ever. Drinking with the band at the bar afterwards, Warren passing the shots around. Tom was mainly dancing with the ladies. Great times. 🇦🇺

Searching For a Former Clarity is hands down, Against Me!’s greatest album. An absolute masterpiece. I can’t say that for the albums that followed, so it’s nice of them that they played it first. Ha

I still have the utmost respect for Laura and Against Me will always have a huge, special place in my heart and I understand she can't keep writing the same quality or type of music because she's not living out of dumpsters and poor and struggling, which is often people's sources of inspiration and I am glad for her success and happiness, that's most important. But I just don't like the poppier vibe of a lot of their later stuff.
Against me changed my life, and is probably the most inspiring band I've ever heard outside of this is no time ta sleep by Morning Glory. I cannot express how disappointing this band was after the Eternal Cowboy. When Former Clarity came out it was like they were a completely different band. Their songs were bland and really corny--choruses of "Condaleeeza!!" Ugh. It was like watching a train wreck, but such is the case with many great punk rock bands. You can still see flashes of how great they were in songs like Up the Cuts, and kind of Thrash Unreal, although that song devolves into corniness too. I will always love Against Me, but if you missed them before 2005, all I can say is it was really something.
I’m with you on this 100%, AM is absolutely one of my favorite bands and Laura Jane Grace is one of the most inspiring people ever. Life changing & transformative music for sure!!! I have seen them many times and have missed two shows because of the quarantine, can’t wait for this shit to be over with.
I’m kinda with you, but Former Clarity is their magnum opus. It’s a masterpiece. Everything they did up to and including that album captured lightning in a bottle. I’m not sure how you’re hearing flashes of greatness in those New Wave tracks; that entire album is f-ing awful as is everything that followed. I’ve never been more disappointed by a band in my entire life.

Atom Willard is definitely the best drummer AM has ever had and with Andrew back they are absolutely perfect, best fucking live band ever!!!!!!!

their older stuff is definitely better, but the new stuff is pretty solid too. i use their newer albums as a way to get ease my friends into punk
