Creepshow is a masterpiece and one of my favorite films of all time. I did see Creepshow 2 in the theater and have rewatched multiple times since. I have a fondness for it because it is a lot of fun. But I remember being disappointed there were only 3 stories and not 5. For my money it lacks the charm and bite of the original but I do enjoy Woodenhead and The Raft a lot. “I beat you!” from The Raft is alone worth price of admission.

The raft is my favorite of all the stories.

My favorite also, many classic moments. Loved the old couple, loved the old tribal chief, Chief Wooden head, and Sam.....well he was so ridiculous! Narcissistic much, also loved"thanks for the ride lady", the hit and run segment, I remember that one from childhood, but after rewatching fell in love with Chief Wooden head. So many fun moments....too many to mention, but totally agree with you loved this crazy, campy movie!!!

My most iconic shot from the first is where you see Ted Danson's head completely submerged under water, while Leslie Nielsen is saying, you gotta hold your breath. My most iconic seen from the second movie is when Poncho gets back to land and says I BEAT YOU and then you see the oil slick climb over his head and him turning around to run away, but doing it too late..

I actually just watched both Creepshow movies for the first time tonight (obviously had to come here pretty much immediately for your reviews, though I'm actually going to finish watching this particular review later, as I'm actually going back to rewatch Rob Zombie's H2 right now), and I will say I actually prefer Creepshow 2 as well! I honestly found Creepshow 2 a lot more fun than the first one, however our favorite segments differ. My favorite segment for the first one was high tide, and in Creepshow 2, my favorite is actually the second segment. There's something about that mass of what looks like a giant gooey tarp that gets me going! I love that they found a way to make a shapeless mass just slowly moving through water an interesting monster. Anyway, I gotta get to the movie!

Great video and great intro!! Creepshow 1 is waaaaay better than Creepshow 2. The Crate is better than any of the stories in Creepshow 2.

I agree, The Crate's monster actually made me say "Awww, he just wants his box left alone!" Imagine having that dude for a bff, there wouldn't be any bullies, abusers, child predators, because I would've definitely gotten him on all the idiots who hurt me? ❤

If you look closely, during the last story, the lead character passes her husband, as he's talking to Stephen King.
There were originally two more segments: Pinfall, which never got made, and The Cat From Hell, which made it into Tales From the Darkside: The Movie. You can find the screenplay online with all five stories and the wraparound for free.
I absolutely love Creepshow one and two but two is the better one. The raft was my first love of the 1978 Camaro Z28 and I've always wanted a yellow one. I thought all stories were great even the last one. "Thanks lady, thanks for the ride"

I saw this as a kid on a road trip with my parents at some random hotel out in West Texas. Not only is it a good movie but it always has this nostalgic feel when I rewatch it.

This one only has 3 stories but they are longer and better.
I know I'm in the minority, but my favorite segment was The Hitch Hiker. That was the only story that scared me as a kid.

I love your review of Creepshow 2. I love Creepshow 1 and 2 equally. I met Micheal Gornick (Creepshow 2 director). He was extremely down to Earth and we chatted a little bit about Day of the Dead and Creepshow 2. Good times!
I have both the US and Canadian Limited Edition Arrow Video Blu-rays, meaning I have one with the purple slipcase and red sleeve and one with the red slipcase and purple sleeve which means I could match them by color, and Tom Savini as The Creep scared the shit out of me as a child when I first saw the movie.

Pancho was originally gonna be played by Crispen Glover. I’ve always preferred this one over the 1st even though the 1st one is scarier. Also I love the line that Sam says to fat stuff “I’m gonna need my slave” 🤣 something like that lol

You're not the only completist. I'm one also. My OCD wouldn't let me own the first two without buying the third one. It was messing with me, and when I got it, I watched it. Watching Creepshow III was one of the biggest wastes of time in my life. I LOVE Creepshow II, though. Glad to see I'm not the only one who just likes it better. Sadly, though, I wound up with a crush on Sam Whitemoon. UGH!!! Also, just as you, I prefer the Creep in the first movie better.

You know one thing always bugged me about the raft.. how long was that creature out there on the lake.. it wasnt exactly shy..I wonder how many people it killed before it would've gotten noticed

I love Creepshow 2. It is my favorite of the two. This one also aired on Shocktober back in the day. I was in third grade when I first saw this, and ,it legitimately scared me. The first segment, and the hitchhiker segment gave me nightmares. I didn't know about the raft creeper until I bought the DVD, because, that part was edited for television. Boy, that pos got what he deserved, imo. I wonder if he made it to the car, would the slime have managed to pull the car in, as well? That would have made an interesting ending, imo. Stephen King plays a great hick 😄.

Watched it this morning, I remember it except the Big Cheif segment. I like the first one better. But that’s my opinion, poncho. Great job again.

I like it better 2 …. But Chief Wooden head dragged!!!! The end was great and that Indian FC was incredible! Love the raft! I date a girl specifically because she looks like the raft … the brunette! And the cheating Milf was sexy with sensational acting….King was hilarious!! Love seeing him in anything he writes….. I didn’t like the sequence he was in from part 1 .. I didn’t like the green shit! My take on the Creep is….. ready? It’s the crypt keeper from Tales from the crypt … he was dead in Creepshow 2 and started rotting and started decaying obviously…. Hence, we got the crypt in the present when HBO ran the 90s epic show ! So it’s him ! The puns .. the sense of humor ! You’ll die laughing!💀 the ost is good but part 1 is better… darker…. Oh and ah…… Thanks for the ride lady!……..
“The Raft” aside...Creepshow 2 is nowhere near as good as the original....I think “The Raft” was originally intended to be included in the first film, but cut for time...No? The trailer for Creepshow scared the shit out of me as a 5-year-old....all these years later...here we still are...

Nice! We have similar tastes. I love part 2 more also and the wooden statue gave me the creeps as a kid and is my favorite segment. I saw part 3 when it first came out and remember nothing good about it

People don't talk about Creepshow 2 a lot. I like each segment for different reasons but like you, I'd love to see what the creature looked like from underneath/at the bottom in the second segment. It's a cool concept and it looks like... melted jello but thick.

Actually there were two segments one was cat from hell which was featured in Tales from the Darkside the movie.
Pinfall was the second unreleased segment. There was an Indiegogo to make it a 90 minute movie. I'm not sure if it made it's quota. I had an original idea for it as well but that's between you and me.

LOVE this movie, but I love it in a much different way than Creepshow 1. This movie is fun and silly in spots. It feels VERY 80's ish (in a good way). I rank the stories as 1. The Raft (by far my favorite), 2. Old Chief Woodenhead (very underrated) and 3. The Hitchhiker (it's overrated by the fans).

I enjoyed Creepshow 3 more than I enjoyed Fear The Walking Dead season 4, and on. That's not saying much.
