Most Slept on Producer EVER.. Steve Pitts he procured Dayton Family 2 Monster Albums With start 2 Finish Bangers! Bro Made some Hits🔥 Runner up.. Seven Tech N9ne Producer Beats are 🔥 Mind blowing more Rappers haven’t reached out to him Never herd a Wack Beat from either of them 💯💯💯
Incredible analogy. You're absolutely right about that. Hmm, people talk as if P Diddy owned the "Bling Era" sound, but the early 2000s is caked with that LES type beat aesthetic.
This makes me realise he’s one of my favorites! I love and grew up with all these beats and for the most of them didn’t know that was all LES! On top for me is Premo (and Kurtis Mantronik and Marley Marl for their legendary contributions) but LES shares the spot with Just Blaze, RZA, Large Pro. Alchemist and Havoc for me. This vid is a wake up call for me, he’s one of the best imo and I feel I look crazy for not knowing he made all these fire beats!
F that…just changed my mind, gonna have to put him above those I mentioned I was putting him next too. His samples…drums…..he might be the best of his era / not gonna lie
Definitely, i knew L.E.S. by name but never actually by his work and they were 1 for 1 between my favourite Beats from those projects, some i honestly thought were probably Premo
110% slept on. Great ear too for flipping more popular samples into something new and not sounding like premier when he does it. Great content keep going!
😆 that's awesome that you added DJ Noise to this video. Haven't seen that footage in years! I seem to remember he did a good job of recreating Top Billin' beat out of Impeach the President records too. If I'm not mistaken. Brilliant!
I’ve always loved all these beats since way back (except “Nastradamus”). A few of the tracks I never knew were produced by L.E.S.! Btw Terror Squad rapper Tripple Seis is pronounced sayce (like space) not sells.
100% AGREED!! Thx for this video, I’m well familiar with all these beats and they’re all fire and for some strange reason never knew these were all done by LES, thx for waking me up!
@@DJFurio Crazy thing is I used to be a radio dj and I often played those records in thd 90s, had the Royal Flush singles, Shyheim’s album, later the Pun album, the Fat Joe albums, CNN….I played all these records but I was too ignorant to even bother to check who produced them….I honestly feel a bit ashamed but hey, I was young (best and only exuse I’m able to produce) 😂 Again…thank YOU sir! 10/10 video
@@DJFurio Sure, but as a dj I sorta should have lol. But yea I couldn’t agree more that the world is sleeping on his works. He’s not nearly mentioned enough.
I'm really enjoying this new series. Fantastic work....these are producers and songs (and samples) I was little aware of!! Hmmm, people talk as if P Diddy owned the "Bling Era" sound, but the early/mid 2000s is caked with that LES type beat aesthetic.
LES was one of my first favorite producers ever. I remember collecting every single track I could find from him. You left out many, many classics he did for Nas such as U Gotta Love It and Find Ya Wealth that are miles above Nastradamus I gotta say. But dope video, very much appreciated.
I did a blend of juicey usd the instrumental to wu tang triumph and it's so seamless the beat actually feels like it's meant for the song that's how I elevated the blend from originally overpowering the song to becoming one with track
@@DJFurio and we all must involve I don't know how old you are but when I started it was vinyl all these tricks you see people do using controllers I had to do that manually and for some of those effects you needed a separate effects box hooked up to your mixer am 46 so 34 years of doing this I've watch a lot change some for the better something's not so much
Most slept-on? Here's a few who you'll never hear anybody name-check--ever: -EZ Elpee -Red Spyda -Nick Wiz -T-Ray -Mo-Suave-A Go look up their production credits.
@@DJFurio alright then, EZ Elpee catalogue got LES beat--completely different leagues. You'll never hear anybody mention EZ Elpee by name. Add Ty Fyffe and Self Service too.
Olu plays both trumpet and cornet (they both look similar and play the same, trumpet is slightly bigger and has a little more power). He played trumpet on the Nas track, with a Harmon mute like Miles Davis liked to use. I know Olu personally from the days of St. Nick’s Pub in Harlem. He also sings and plays guitar too. He’s full of humor and wisdom. He stopped performing over a decade ago for health reasons.
Don't understand how this opinion is disrespectful. MJ is a good defender hands down, I'm tryna find where Wallace gets this.... factually, not on opinion.

Will give them a check
Noted
LES invented that luxurious glamorous hood sound that you hear Maybach Music using

I don't think I've seen his face! I remember seeing L.E.S.'s name in many Nas albums as a kid. I Want to Talk to You was one of my favs. Salute!!!!
Yes he’s made a lot of tracks for Nas
Back in the day we called this sample snitchin
Good job it’s now 2024 then 🤣
That DJ Battle was crazy 😲
It was epic

Definitely a great producer
There's some dope tracks on that Royal Flush album
I had a cd-R copy of that 50 cent album. Sh|t was hella dope 💯
L.E.S. puts great drums under his samples...
He does

I think he did those drums in the 95 DMC Finals, the year before he won it
Royal flush's worldwide also made it on one of premiers mixtapes. What a fantastic beat!
A really unknown legend.

I didn’t want to show too many Nas tracks. Nastradamus isn’t the greatest track, just better known than others.
RIP DJ FURIO
I almost thought you were talking about Psycho LES😆
Nope. But he’s made some good stuff
Dont forget he produced Im Real by Ja Rule and J Lo!
Indeed he is.
Didn’t he produce Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It
Poke And Tone are the main producers with him as a co-producer. I just showed ones where he was the main producer for this video.
LES very cool guy, signed my illmatic after a mobb deep show
Awesome
@@DJFurio the only signature missing from my LP is QTip
@wardy2c that’s great
Yep! Slept on!
Definitely slept on
LES is so dope. I can't find much information on him tho.
Has atleast one fire track on almost every Nas album and worked with basically every Queensbridge act
That Nastrdamus beat was basically Let The Funk Flow by EPMD
Pretty much
My Guy....L.E.S. is ignored dudes just don't know his genius.
He’s a great producer
He's just ok. Far from a Havoc or a RZA
DOPE VIDEO!
I’m glad you liked it
Great video!
Thanks
