This is great! Here on Isla Nublar there is too much volcanic activity to reliably play DVD. I can't wait for a copy to show up at the local Blockbusters.
You know, it still kinda works. The use of close-ups, safe overscan areas, and what might be called "boring" framing nowadays was probably so you could still tell what was happening if viewing over-the-air broadcasts or on VHS
Their voices when they glitch remind me of the Martians from Mars Attacks and I can't stop laughing. Good luck with your upscale efforts. I only saw your channel today and I really like what you've done. Whether anything comes of it or not, I hope you enjoyed yourself.
This def brings back memories. Lol. My old Sony Trinitron monitor, Hi-Fi Stereo VHS player w/S-Video, Dolby Pro-Logic sound system. Even back then watching this show was a cinematic event.
Come on Paramount, nice April Fool's joke, but give us a remastered version of this masterpiece of a show already! There's a guy upscaling DS9 and Voyager episodes in his own spare time and the updated footage looks great. From what I understand it would cost less than what 1 episode of Discovery costs to film to remaster either one of the shows.
@@Dputiger oh lol that's awesome! I assumed this was an April Fool's joke because I noticed your article about the remaster was on the same site as the post that linked this video. I should have put 2 and 2 together 😆
VHS *could* 100% look this way, but only on a pretty chewed-up tape or poor-quality player. And yes, this is an AF joke. I created two different clips with very different "VHS looks."
This should be real and for every tv show. I fucking hate HD tv and I'm sick of the way it looks. Particularly for stuff that was never intended to be seen on anything other than the standard 4:3 SD format. I'm sorry, but CRTs look so much better, way nicer colors. Too much visual clarity is a bad thing, not a good thing.
I can finally watch this as I watched it as a kid. On a broken VHS casette.

Hold up
This is the best thing to come out of April fools

The audio distortion adds character
LOL I completely agree
That's right! Real men use VHS and vinyl
This fantastic, very funny. Brings back memories of recording off the TV using LP on VHS.
LP saved so much space tho.....You'd just have to turn up the volume to full blast to rewatch it in normal sound.
Ah, it's just as I remember it!

Damn. Recorded over the end.
Honestly this is what it looked like when I watched it most of the time. We had rabbit ears.
This was Voyager for me, but with more interference.
Delicious... But needs more tracking artifacts

@@JaceFincham I thought of this joke idea six months ago and sat on it until today. No way I was gonna let this chance go by. ;)

We interrupt your scheduled nightly broadcast to bring you....
This is how I watched DS9, a 240p edition.
OMG! reminds me of the actual episode I saw on syndication! Lmao! Ah, the memories! 🤣
