- Just like my "Before You Watch DanMachi Season 2" Video, I made a quick video on the key points you'll want to know before heading into Season 3 as the anime adaptation of Season 2 skipped quite a bit of content that may play a role.
As far as North America is concerned, Season 3 of DanMachi is available for streaming on Crunchyroll, HiDive, and VRV.
The segments featured in the video that look like a visual novel are from the DanMachi mobile game, DanMachi Memoria Freese, also known as DanMemo which is available on iOS and Android.
The light novels serve as the source material for the DanMachi franchise, which consist of three different series, the main series, Sword Oratoria, and Familia Chronicle. The novels are licensed and released by Yen Press.

Just a quick note for stuff that didn't make it into the video. (I guess everything just blended together as I worked on this and the Vol 8 video at the same time).
- Mikoto receives one black blade out of a set of two from Takemikazuchi named "Chizan." Takemikazuchi promises he will give her the white "Tenka" when she converts back to his familia in about a year's time as that's the time requirement between familia conversions.
- Welf creates a new katana for Mikoto called "Kotetsu."
- Welf creates two high defense cloaks for Lili and Haruhime from the Goliath Hide Bell was awarded for defeating the Black Goliath on Floor 18 in Season 1.
Ya know this is probably the one and only thing I hate about anime.. when they try to "condence" multiple chapters into 12episodes.. instead of fleshing it out into a 20-24ep cur like it should be Danmachi would be A lot better if it was 24 episodes a season instead of trying to stuff missing content into a fricken Gacha App game.. -__-""

Seriously, they should just have done double the episodes.
Problem is it would be double or even triple the money and time, which would not pay off if people stopped supporting the anime thus making the chance for another season low or to have a weaker animation.

The main problem is they promised a season 3 at the same time season 2 came out.. this never happens.. which means they had a deadline for a season 3 so they had to cram everything they could in season 2..
it was poorly planned for a series that has tons of side plots and characters
@@electabuzzboss Danmachi is one of the 10 most sold light novels of all times. If they had adapted it properly, there would be no reason to believe that they wouldn't make profit.
I think my biggest complaint of season 2 and 3 is how rushed they feel. Sure they’re still great adaptations if you haven’t read the LN, but if you have, you relies just how much world building and foreshadowing they cut out. As mentioned book 8 is virtually skipped, one that is full of foreshadowing for this arc and filled with world building and character growth for the secondary cast

I love how the gods and goddesses know each other when they haven’t seen each other in a long time. Like the scene where Aries kidnaps Hestia and they both questioned each other first 😂👌🏾
i can't believe they skipped the entire Prum proposal part as well as the Welf backstory. Would have been more meaningful than E12. Some parts of this should have been included at least at the start of S3, to set the stage for the Xenos arc. The passage way plays an important part later in the arc.
They crammed like 3 LN into 12 episodes. Like, I get they had to cut some stuff out, but as popular as this anime is it's really strange they're not being granted 24 episodes per season or just doing 12 episode seasons but filling in all the good content.

Thank you. I am currently on S3 E2 and this cleared up some questions. As in many series I have seen, I have attempted to decipher clues revealed in the opening theme and ending themes. I am anxious to see how Wiene plays into it since E2 has her standing with the Familia in the opening but doesn't show her at all in the closing song.

After watching all of this (unfortunately already started season 3) and then heading to the subreddit a few weeks back, I can see why so many people were kinda pissed at season 2. I had no idea that much stuff was cut out. Hope they haven't skipped over much in season 3, if at all. I definitely gotta pick up the novels now.

The Danmachi Chronicle Vol.1 spin-off events also happened during this time before the beginning of S3. It tells how Ryu started to have feeling for Bell. It has little to do with S3, but will affect the later S4.
I think danmachi season 3 is going to be better than season 2 of danmachi
After season 2 I've lost all interest in DanMachi but a random commenter, first episode of season 3 and you gave me hope.

So many people said that the material for S3 and 4 are the best in the novel, so I as a non-LN-reader hope the anime gets adapted pretty close to its original counterpart.
It's nice to have a reminder of the amazing 2 seasons of danmachi and Sword Oratori

I got to say this is some really important information thank you for this I seen the one fore season 2 and it does make more sense to know what is left out I try to read the light novels for them just not enough time so this is very helpful hope to see more videos like this for other anime if possible keep up the good work

For some reason I know what Freya said before I watch any video confirming that. The lip movements felt like she said “I love you” even if it was in Japanese. But guess it was like he said though I could not hear what she was saying, but I know what she said....

I was upset the cut most of Volume 8 out of the anime because now that season 3 is out people are gonna be confused when they meet the orphanage kids and how they already have met Bell
I have a feeling they'll try to do a small flashback to show he met them earlier, but even that will probably come off as ingenuine. Doing stuff like that would make it feel like they're holding together the adaptation with duct tape.
@@AdvisorLorne I just hope they don't cut them out of the story because when the events of volume 11 happen they add to Bells anxiety of his decisions and also fell bad for doing that to him later on in the end of the volume
I mean I just read like 14 novels on danmachi, and now when I'm watching the anime and hear the word "fan service" I find those words synonymous BS, because they ain't serving the true fans here...

Danmachi is my favorite light novel series and it's easily one of the best stories I've ever heard, so imagine my disappointment at how much content the anime keeps cutting. It's not even little stuff really. For example, that hidden passage and crying monster are extremely important.

Some people say it is not as good as season 1. still a good story, I enjoyed it still. It’s not trash like what some people have been saying. It’s still a very good season and obviously if you want to watch season 3 then get caught up.

Without giving too much away, Bell does something that is against adventurer code and Aiz is ordered by her familia to catch "whoever is responsible." This becomes a heated debate between the two when Aiz figures it out and, although conflicted, turns her sword against Bell.

I had already speculated that maybe Lily could be a potential love interest for Finn since Finn wants to marry another Pallum and grow his race and Lily is the only good Pallum I can see that has a lot of similarities to Finn with her strategies and all but I wonder what Tione will do if Finn actually proposes in the anime lmao xD
Finn can go for harem route too, remember amazons can only have girls so eventually Finn have to find another Hobbit to have kids and complete his mission. The other way to complete his mission is to make a god for Hobbits that would be cool, apparently if you accumulate enough excelia you can become god then if you can beat a demi-god level monster like black dragon eventually that make you stronger than a demi-god and win the right to be a god. Another way to be god is apparently complete a task similar to gods, for example Hefesto say if Welf can make a weapon that can match his god-level weapons he can become a God like her.

@@chronosverse4797 Actually, most of what freak said is just pure theory, and this whole thing about beating a demi god monster to become a god has never been talked about as far as i know.
But it IS true that a "level up" in danmachi is the process of becoming closer to godhood, by expending how much excelia the adventurer's souls can take, they become closer to gods each time they level up.
When the phone game did the deserted island and Cassandra has that mushroom vision 3x why didn't she have that same vision 3x instead of just once when Bell shows up with a mushroom on his head?

I literally just finished season 2 and I was wondering why it felt so basic. Like there wasnt much contributing to main plot other than the war games imo cause the whole thing with the prostitute thing came down to "save the unfortunate damsel " arc. A lot of this stuff sounds more interesting
A question tho, is the Argonaut story in the game is based on the ln or just some original game story? I really want to see it to be animated cuz the story is so good

I FCKN KNEW IT, at first i wasn't aware but when i saw Freya Lip syncing, i knew that It's we as Anime watchers that are getting cucked..
I was sure, in other formats, be it manga, LN, or game it would have had the context & the words..
On the side note, I know it's hard to make all this information be short yet linear and make sense, but please do try, it kinda felt like a information thermonuclear bomb.. But i guess that can't be helped when they animated only so little...

That's the one thing I hate about anime nowadays they tend to cut out information and condensed story and will only give you the juicy parts of the story instead of being detailed now we miss so much information that you have to make a video saying how much they skipped

Well, sometimes you have to cut some of the fat to get too the meat. Anime’s are also ways so people will read the light novel and the manga.

Danmachi is one of the 10 most sold light novels of all times, and they even made a goddman gacha game (and everyone should know by now that gacha games are huge money makers). They have all the money they need to make a proper adaptation.

Sooo they cut the anime short and leave out a bunch of content that is very pertinent to the world building, and are expecting to continue the series long term? I mean how many times have we seen show creators do this then have to retcon their earlier seasons, punch plot holes the size of mars, or just act like their fan base will be cool with it.i mean this isn’t as bad as most series but at the same time how do they expect to build the same infatuation with the series when they are leaving bits out.
Same thing that happens with SAO WoU part 2.
They skipped so much stuff in the early novels such that in the last season most of the protagonists' actions seemed to come out of nowhere.
The problem is that letting out to much information result in a world that is superficial and hollow compared to what value that world has in the novel.
Unfortunately this is something that happens very often for LN adaptations.
@@JJ-wi1xb as someone who only watched the anime WoU pushed what was a 3nd or third tier anime up into the realm of Naruto and demon slayer. I did notice some of the holes in the series such as how we met, fell in love with, and watched Scheta's entire love story in 2 episodes but overall it was A-1

Alicization adaptation for me was a hit and miss.(sadly my favorite LN always has half-baked adaptation)
Good first 12 episode(even if Zakkaria cut was a tragedy for Eugeo character in the anime)
The Tower saga was a miss especially for the pacing and contents cut.
Wou part 1 was excellent meanwhile Wou part 2 was a big miss for me as a LN reader, especially for the Kirito and Asuna interaction and Leafa,Sinon and Alice,Asuna characters moments which were totaly cut off in the anime.
But the fault of this is due to the new director Ono who has already demonstrated thanks to his Anime adaptations of Gakuen toshi Asterisk and Mahouka no rettousei that he isnt able to comprehand what makes a work good.
If they are going to approch progressive adaptation in the same manner, they will fail given that the nature of progressive is more SoL than an epic story like Alicization was.
@@JJ-wi1xb I really think at one point or another they are just telling whatever story they want. Like imagine your parents buying you a bedtime story then gluing 1/4 of the pages together. I'm pretty tired of eating half a shepherd's pie and half an English trifle. Either that or they just stop making the anime (shoutout Ngnl) regardless of how many people ask for another season. I just want all of the amazing stories I read as a kid to come to life on the TV screen. I don't need some reimagining that ends with firebenders not being able to generate their own fire.
