- British Championship disability gymnast, Natasha Coates, 22, is allergic to everything. She has won 19 British titles and placed first in the British Disability Championships.
After years of suffering from continuous allergic reactions, 22 year old Natasha was finally diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome.
Despite her daily battles with her allergies, this has not stopped Natasha from pursuing her passion for gymnastics.

@donutdoode69 Tf just because you're a wuss doesn't mean she has to be one too.
i'm so glad she's not allergic to dogs! when she was with her dog she looked so happy
There are certain breeds that are considered 'hypoallergenic' which are usually utilized by individuals who have allergies and other hypersensitivities such as Poodle and Bichon Frise (to name just a few) - these dogs have hair more similar to sheep's wool rather than standard dog hair and tend not to induce the same type of histamine reaction or MAST cell activation as would most other breeds.
I think that only works for some people bc my moms mildly allergic to dogs and she still has an allergic reaction with hypoallergenic ones.
I know this comment is old! But I have heard of treatments to get over being allergic to dogs!
Such a caring mother she cleans everything
But still! Its really hard! She must have a lot of trouble!
My mom cleans everything too.
She has to do it while I am not home though cause I will react to the cleaners
She suits having no hair, she looks nice

She's allergic to her own hair I never heard of something like that. Man that's tough
Howdy Justice alopecia is a hair loss condition, not a hair allergy.
Howdy Justice alopecia has to do with the body attacking hair follicles thinking they’re an intruder, it has nothing to do with histamines like an allergy
Howdy Justice I also have alopecia, I wasn’t attacking you 😊
And sad
Howdy Justice you were wrong, it happens. No need to get all emotional about it.

@@mohamadwasim6182 Honestly. If I knew nothing about her and I met her bald for the first time I'd assume she had cancer, which can be registered as a disability in my country. But not with the wig on, she looks 'normal'.

AMEN.
MCAS is such a terrifying condition. She is incredibly brave.
AAAAAAA I'm so excited that people are learning about this- because when I explain mcas to my friends they don't get it- but now that this girl did this interview on how we live, god it makes me so happy!
I also mcas. Once I had a reaction to nothing and the er doctor litterally argued with me that it was my make up.. that I wear every day and never have had a problem with. It's so frustrating. You know it's rare when even doctors don't know what it is. Nice to see more of us here tho! ❤️❤️❤️
Yessss i have given up with explaining to friends i just say I can be allergic to anything at anytime and always tell them I will bring my own food drink and always have a epi and make sure those around me know how to use it I also have several other rare diseases but honestly this one is the hardest to explain and live and cope with
It's watching that show a year ago that I found out about mcas while I've been living with it since almost 45 years. Most doctors don't know about it in my country though. I had some put my life at risk (once again) during surgeries because they couldnt believe what I was telling them. I wish you all a happy life.

We take out health for granted not realizing we are blessed 🥺🥺she is such a strong girl
There’s odd health conditions all over the world. It’s so scary...cause “you never know” how life can turn at any given moment.
john jacobsmith my illness is genetic and has no name I was a 20-year research patient in Boston and after 30 years it has no name and I'm still the only one in the world with it. There is obviously no treatment and unless someone has talked to me nobody's ever heard of it other than doctors and scientists who read the medical journals regularly.
Elizabeth Shaw Like the disease of the boy in Wonder. Auggie’s the only one in the world with his disability.
Elizabeth Shaw - I know one or two people like that. I knew a boy growing up who is the only recorded case (both in symptomology and since the beginning of genetic testing) of his genetic mutation. He was a trisomony, but I can't recall which gene. Sadly, his particular issues dramatically shortened his life and he passed on at the age of 12.
Cases like yours and Robbie's are why organizations like the Global Genes Project are so critical. Most rare diseases are genetic and the majority of patients with rare genetic illnesses are children- which means that most die before adulthood. GGP helps promote and fund research into rare and obscure illnesses that otherwise receive next to no support. Plus, it gives people a way to donate to one organization and help support research into hundreds of diseases they never would have even heard of otherwise.
No sense being scared of things you can't control or predict.
Exactly! I have a rare genetic condition (cystinuria), and I was diagnosed quite late (I was 22, and most are diagnosed in their mid teens). My life has changed completely since my diagnosis, and I'm so glad I was able to do so much pre-diagnosis.
I do feel like I've become a better person since then, as I'm so much more understanding of others.

I have MCAS too, it's in combination with Hashimoto's and Lyme's disease and a few others which makes it hard to do anything really. I received three stemcell therapies which makes it easier to live and I can happily say i'm now able to go back to school! horse riding is my passion but it is really hard as I can't feel anything from the waist down and I also can't feel my left arm. I try to find ways around it because my parents don't want me to be a para-equestrian, they want me to compete between healthy people which I find kinda unfair but also pushes me to work harder which can be a good thing
It broke my heart when she said she was a gymnast, and she loved it so much....coming from a gymnast myself, if you want to pursuee something you love, you have to go all in for it. Especially in gymnastics. Doing the sport is so hard, I take 15 hours out of each of my weeks for gymnastics; its even harder because I’m a small youtuber too. It takes time with these types of things ❤️
It must be hard to do that during the pandemic I hope u are ok and doing well and the girl in the video 😃😊😇😉💙

Cassandra Anelante over 1000 people have it, so don’t let yourself down. I mean, I don’t have it, but I respect people with serious and Rae diseases.
xd dxbble I agree
Me too I love this video, do you have anything else? From experience myself did you know POTS or Disodonomia and elersdanlos are very common to go hand in hand with MC
I can kind of imagine what that is like to have this allergy. I have an allergy to the cold. It's called cold urticaria. Though I don't think I'll ever know fully what this allergy is like. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. I know how bad it sucks to have a strange allergy.
I've seen MMS reverse sun hives, ie allergic reaction to the sun, maybe it will help
I have MCAS as well.. I know how awful it is, but damn this is extreme. In all the groups I'm in I don't think I've ever heard of a case this bad. But damn girl, keep kicking ass. I really hope some of these treatments start to look up..
I was thinking the same thing! Never heard of an MCAD patient losing feeling in their arms/legs due to the condition, or actually needing to shave their head because of reactions to their hair. Probably the worst case I've heard of, but I'm glad she still somehow manages to do what she loves. Basically every other patient I'm aware of also has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and/or POTS/Dysautonomia and often more on top of MCAD, to the point that doing gymnastics is out of the question. So even though her case is so severe, I'm really glad she can still do it for now, assuming she doesn't eventually find out she has EDS too (another commenter pointed out her elbows hyperextending, so it's not unlikely).
Skyler Gray - I know someone who comes close. I don't know if she's ever been admitted to ICU, but cromlyn, xolair, and epipens are a part of daily life for her. She rarely leaves her home, can't eat any food that was cooked more than a few hours previous (mold has already begun to grow by that point), and she spends her life in various stages of anaphylaxis. Her reactions are usually not the standard anaphylaxis, with the swollen throat, etc, but rather a potentially deadly decrease in blood pressure. She tries to limit her epipen use, but I know she uses a lot of them.
Dusty Bones - the POTS correlation isn't surprising. Most doctors are unaware, but there is a presentation of anaphylaxis that causes dramatic blood pressure dips. My friend has nearly died from that type of reaction plenty of times. She lucked out in finally finding a doctor who understood what was happening to her.
I have Systemic Mastocytosis....anaphylaxis over 80 times....i will pray for you love. Keep smiling and stay positive❤

Mast cell activation means at any time you can have a reaction. Meaning you never know if you are going to react, thus you have
to think of yourself as allergic to everything. She is literally not allergic to everything, but at any time anything can cause

I just had an allergy test today, I think I had about 30 things I’m allergic to. I’m deathly allergic to nuts, it’s a scary feeling.
a nut allergy is easy to manage, unlike what this girl has, always got to be one person who tries to relate when they've got nothing like it fs
Holly Cook the same could be said about you. You have no idea what it’s like to live with a nut allergy, accidents happen mostly from restaurants. It’s not as preventable as one may think. I used to work in a restaurant and didn’t realize how difficult it is to live with food allergies til I developed them.
@@Quit3Cut3 lol awks i have a severe nut allergy, was born with a severe wheat and dairy allergy, so yes i do know what it's like to live with a nut allergy, if you go to a restaurant and alert them you have an allergy its a lot more managable then you think... clearly arent trying hard enough
Holly Cook I always do but so far I’ve had 2 servers forget to mention it to the cooks and wound up at the er. Restaurant workers are human and make errors, plus most barely make minimum wage and servers even less, so I’m sure they don’t care about allergies so mistakes are made.

It's a rare autosomal recessive condition that doesn't allow me to process the amino acid cystine, and it all ends up in my kidneys, where I make huge kidney stones (my largest one was 10.5cm)
mook_butt well I hope you get better
Last time I had to go to the ER for my asthma I saw the nurse write on my chart “looks well,” and I think it’s a curse to look well when in reality you’re struggling to catch some air. Even hospital staff falls for the whole, “but you don’t _LOOK_ sick,” crap. It’s so aggravating. I mean, of course I “look well” because I always have some mild rosacea making me look peachy.

Me: COUGH COUGH HACK COUGH IM DYING!!!!
Dad: it's just a cold
10 months ago I started to have hives and angiodema (one time I almost died because of the angiodema), I started to become allergic to everything even air loosing 8 kg because I wasn't able to eat lots of things (my diet was chicken, rice and beans)... Any Doctor was able to give me a clear diagnosis, they just told me "well you just have ideopathic chronic urticaria and angiodema and it can last from 1 year to 10 years" then finally a doctor told me that probably it was my copper iud... and yes it was that, my body was intoxicated beacuse of the copper... and that was my story, thanks God now I am 90% recovered.
God bless you dear
Wow. That's one serious allergy to copper iud. Good to know you're a whole lot better. God bless you

That’s why heavy metal poisoning is so deadly and affects 80% of the population.
Poor girl ;( I wish I could give her a big hug
Seeing this and knowing about people like me exist feels so warm and calming. I’m allergic to almost everything and its so random doctors can’t even tell specifically what makes it worse. and its always surprise how and where my day gonna end. I visit emergency rooms more then Starbucks
Bless you

Plant based diet will help her. I got an allergy before too. I get it from foods. I suspect from bread. And if my hair will touch my face I will too itchy. I stop buying bread, and make homemade. Now by God's grace no more with plant based diet.

Thank you for educating others about mast cell activation syndrome. Testing recently became available on the NHS at Sheffield PRU for those who may have this condition. You can learn more at the website 'Mast Cell Action'.
Is that Mastocytosis
Sadie z savage no. Mastocytosis is when there are too many mast cells and they also overreact. MCAS is when they overreact, but there aren't an excessive amount of them.
Chronically Curious I ended up testing positive for this.
Incredible young lady, wishing her all the best for the future x
Oh bless her. I can relate to this as I’ve also developed spontaneous angioedema two years ago and I can become allergic to anything when ever! 😕
I'm actually allergic to alot of stuff and i have an epipen and well it sucks , but I'm grateful mine isn't as bad as hers. And i really hope she gets better , shes seems like a really great girl.
I'm allergic to bees any sauce except ketup BBQ and sweet sour and milk with lactose
Katrina Hall totally Agree👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😀
Katrina Hall I will never understand the pain of people who are allergic to something because I am not allergic to anything at all. And I am grateful for that.
no name well I'm gald your grateful enjoy for the best of it. Yeah i think the worse pain I've ever had it when i took pain killers and then i found out i was allergic so pain killers kinda do the opposite for me
Katrina Hall it's good actually because taking a lot of painkillers might damage the liver.
Why are there 634 dislikes those people have serious problems
hey @ Sooo ooo, quit perpetuating the idea that disabled people exaggerate or fake their illnesses. that stigma causes a ridiculous amount of misdiagnoses & ruins/takes more lives than you know. you have no idea how harmful & bigoted your comment is.
Sooo ooo she's not exaggerating she has a serious disease and I'm pretty sure she wouldn't exaggerate just for attention sure some people might but this would be one elaborate and fucked up lie
probs bots
