    Something about the ticking sounds from the kiln and the sound from the torch is relaxing to me. Made me want to nap lol lampwork beads are mesmerizing I always wondered how they are made. That's so neat!

    Love your videos, thought me & hubby were the only ones that sing "lowered expectations" 😂, was funny that you sang a little bit of it. I love lampwork beads, but I know that I will never be confident enough to ever make them. But I'm truly enjoying your path of creation & knowledge. You make me want to create new & beautiful things. Thank you for that. ♥

    Great video! I am a self taught lampworker and not very good at it yet either. I'd love to share tips and tricks with you and see what you have come up with also!

    The encasing reminds me like the doming effect you get with resin. I really like this.

    beautiful, i thought that to cool them down, you could pop them in perlite. have you tried this?

  • @devrabiallas1292

    can't you also make a metal form that once you get the glass on The mandrell you can just roll it in the form so it's even all the way around and it also tells you when you need to add more material

  • @maryannweed7809
    @maryannweed7809 Před 4 lety +1

    Ok, I have to ask.... How does the metal rod stay cool enough for you to be touching it when the end is on fire?

    • @red-crystal-dragon
      @red-crystal-dragon Před 4 lety +1

      The length of the rod and how far she holds it from the fire is why the bit she's holding doesn't get too hot. The rod is thin enough that the majority of the heat stays at the end in the flame.

    • @catzkeet4860
      @catzkeet4860 Před 4 lety

      Steel is a really bad conductor of heat. That's why they make blow pipes for blown glass from steel. If the mandrel was silver it wouldn't work for just the same reason... Silver is a really GOOD conductor of heat, so it would be way too hot to hold.
