It's very unsatisfying that we'll probably never see the full map but it's like a big security for the game to have. It anything goes bad and people loose interest they can always make and release a new area.
I don’t think the story will ever “end”. I think it’ll take years to destroy garnok and we’re only getting 1 or 2 sets of story quests a year. I think when we do/if we do destroy garnok something will go wrong the first time and that’s because dark core has been tipped off about what we’re doing by a spy on the inside and we’ll have to find out who it is. I will always carry on playing sso as long as it carries on because I love the game and the story is very well written. Never playing again would hurt because I love this game. The good thing is that there isn’t any good competitors to compete for the top spot. There is equestrian the game but I don’t think that will over throw starstable. Releasing new horses is actually a good thing because big CZcamsrs buy star coins to buy the horses. I know that half of this probably doesn’t make sense but oh well .
Ever since I'd started playing I've always wondered about this. Especially how the game would "end", if it ever was going to or what would happen afterwards.

I understand the "The story will never end and so the map will never be full released" But tbh, I'm sure, that sso know, if they really would do that, most player will quit playing and also if it will take them too long to release eventually the full map. When I started playing there were so many reasons for me to play sso, I had fun, I had something to do, to explore, I will hear new rumors and theories about new horses and areas and many other things. But today I don't go online that much. The last time I was online, is about... One month ago. There's nothing left to do, I know all races, all areas, theories, new horses aren't exciting anymore, because i feel like they release new horsebreeds every month. That's boring. I know it's a horse game but if they don't even can do good horses (new friesians, Knabstrupper. They're not the breed they're supposed to be, you can't change my mind) and new areas are... When they finally release a new areas or a new main story quest, it's almost a premiere for the player. If they go on like now, many people will quit. Also, if they go ahead like now, they will have released all horsebreeds before even half of the map is released. And it would be boring, because... What will happend to the weekly Update? It will getting more bored than it's already is. Don't judge me people, it's my opinion and if you don't think so, it's okay. But don't be rude.
I agree! Ive been playing this game since 2012/13 and in those years there was always so much to do. Now? It feels like more about the money (especially this past year and a bit) and not about the magic of Jorvik. I understand they have to make their money to keep going but making more and more horses is really just straight up telling the players "We dont care what you want, its what we want and need that matters" Even though we as the players carry the game. Im done with being treated like a bargain chip by the staff, id like to be listened to and heard out like many other players who simply want to see the game improve, not crash and burn due to greed.
I have recently turned a higher level and there aren’t much quests to do I still have much to do but I have always wondered “will my passion for the game fade away as I get older and finish doing things in the game?” Rn i am really obsessed with the game but it scares me that one day I will barely log on and the game will become boring.
I completely agree with you. I turned level 21 a few days ago, and that was because I did all of my reputation and things. I now have no ways at all to gain XP. They are releasing horses way to quickly and people can’t afford them. I really like it when new areas are released, however I do quickly get bored of them. I only log on for club events, and that’s only for an hour about 5 times a week 😕
I agree, since i'm an editor i only go up to sso to take clips for a video. The updates are boring, and they just make too many horses. A lot of players will quit if they don't bring any new quest in the game what is not about collecting things to get a pet or something. They probably working on something big since the updates are horses or new races. At least i hope.
i quit last month... i just felt like there is literally nothing for me to do, and when they finally release somewhat of a quest, it keeps me busy for like 15 min then i log off. like i just felt like im not going to be paying money every month and have crappy updates. and yeah ill probably pay again when the main story quest is back, but as for now, there is no reason for me to pay and let the biggest update of the month be a new horse.... like can the horse team chill for like two seconds so that the storyline quest team can catch up cause damn...
As someone who has been playing since 2012, I have mixed feelings about the amount of content released ever since. Looking back, it does feel like a lot, but if you think about it further, 8/9 years are a LOT of time and we didn't really make that much progress... I've got a feeling that it's going to take the same amount of time for them to evolve further with the story. I think they focus way too much on releasing new horses. Maybe they need that money for the story?
I think the last quest was the light ride back in November 2019. I don't count Catherine's diary and soul riding because they are not essential to continue the main questline.
Well the last story quests were with the Light ride? Which was released like at the autumn (probably October or November) of 2019. Since then, only Catherine Diary and Lisa comming to Starshine ranch quests were released. So... I guess it will take decades to get the full map and end of the main story
I wish that the day Starstable have to shut down (in one way or another) that they make one last quest and that its something big, like telling us that we are Aideen reborn, or maybe that we defeat Garnok (or lose). It would suck to continue playing it for YEARS and then all of sudden everything will end like poff! At least I''d be hell of an ending if they did that, one last push before they had to shut everything down. I've been playing since 2012 and I mean... thats freaking 9 years now? The game have developed so much during these years and I cant even comprehend what it will be like in another ten years (if it still exists then)
I have a feeling once we finish the main story right now after a bit a new "main story" will pop up, starting a whole new adventure for the fifth soul rider (our character). We have to remember that in the previous games and the books, the four soul riders already went through a big adventure. Now, they're having an even bigger one. Maybe it will be the same case for us.
That might be! I mean, being the fifth soul rider is something different from being a "regular" soul rider, so there might be more adventures for us afterwards. Maybe this time we're the ones asking the soul riders for assistance, if some tasks and missions are especially challenging for us 🤔

But you know the island of Jorvik will really end when we finally get that Avalon face reveal…ok that's a joke but honestly I'd love to see more of the SSO brand bible. I've seen people study the MLP brand bible and it's extremely interesting compared to the logics of the actual show. I agree, SSO won't live forever, everything crashes at some point. Even if SSO lives for a long time, someday it's going to lose too much. Eventually we will reach the "end". The end is truly when SSO goes bankrupt, that's just how it happens. They are dependent on players. As much as I would love to play for all eternity, one day I'll probably not have time, I believe all of us will. No one can see the future-wait-can't Linda see the future? Time to grab her to see the future! No, that wouldn't work she can't see outside the game and she isn't real-right? Okok, getting back on, the game will end soon. I predict sometime in 15 years at the worst. But asking me about CP back in the day I said it would end in 2023 and it came way sooner so there's truly no telling. Making and maintaining a game is a game of time and money. They may never get a true, perfect ending, but one day it will end because of low funds, I have a feeling. Nothing can truly live forever, that includes games. Ok that's it, but really, if the game shuts down without a warning and we don't get Avalon's face reveal, I will be deeply disappointed.
Sad that they haven't released any new story quest in an entire year, almost two. I seriously hope SSO's going to release at least a new story quest this year. I'm stuck at level 19 with nothing to do.

Haha, I get a lot of rwquests about that, but sasly there hasn't been any more information or brrakthroughs since the last video. A lot of people have theories, but nothing that has made me go "that makes sense, that's it!". There's probably not gonna be another fridge door video until there's more clues 🤔

I thought that we could be maybe the fourth dark rider but after the quest with Catherine I know that I was totally wrong ... Ok the only evidence *chrm chrm* that I had were: •When we where at Golden Hills doing this ride (forgot the name). When it was our turn in the vision there was an appearance of Darko and he showed sth like interest in our magical Powers •We can travel SAFE and whenever we want to pandoria •Why did the Dark Rider in Dinovalley followed us?(was there a reason? I forgot) •At the soulriding, after some stuff that u collect sometimes there are “Quests” and in one of them it was a discussion between Alex, Linda and Rhiannon in which Alex asked If Rihannon told us sth about us and Rihannon replied No and then Alex said that she must tell us this sooner or later( but what...?) • And last: why did Fripp chose only us to try to get Anne (the first time) why not with Linda or some experience Person ? I think that when we "beat" the game, you will still be able to play just like before. Buy new horses, play side quests, play the holiday events, etc. A lot of us don't really do quests, so it might not change anything to those who don't really do quests. SSO would still want more money, right? So if people beat the game and the game really did end, they would most likely continue the game as if nothing had happened. I definitely agree they'll continue releasing new updates. I don't, however, think new story quests will be released once people actually beat the game. Just a theory. That most likely not gonna happens! Once the game ends its gone cuz its a online game! Nothing last forever! As much as i would love the idea of playing after the end its just not happening . It cost money and its not cheap
The biggest problem here is... Okay, what are the characters OTHER motivations apart from save jorvik? Lisa: be like her mom and make her proud. Wait..she already did that.. She barely mentions her mother, even though we've seen her perfectly fine with talking about her. Linda: none Anne: we don't know, probably to get used to the real world again FOR NOW alex: Well I was thinking for her to want to avenge Elizabeth but now her death is irrelevant. So, we have nothing to really have mini, meaningful adventures with the characters, they are too flat. So now, they're exploring other characters, Catherine, Dark riders etc to stretch the story as much as possible. Instead of exploring the MAIN CHARACTERS. It'll take a lot of development, resources and events for a new motivation to be born. But that'd probably have to be dark, kids games limit story TBH. Yeah, sso tangled themselves because of the main characters because they are too boring and flat and my soul drains when we watch them. Replace them, no difference.
Doesn't Anne wanna be a vet? Maybe we help her on the journey to become one? And maybe there's a lot of turbulence with her mother on the way that makes it a challenge? And speaking of which, Alex's family situation may also be something to make a questline out of. Their family is poor and Alex doesn't have the best relationship with her mum, and their dad is out of the picture. But there's always a way to make things better, and it would be nice to wrap up their story in a nice way. Other than that, I agree that Linda and Lisa don't have a lot of motivations 😅

@@eleanornightwalker The issue with that is if those motivations come up, itd feel off cuz those motivations have been so shoved to the side, it's almost irrelevant due to the characters rarely bringing it up recently. I'll only start buying it if Alex mentions stuff about her family, worrying about it. And I have a whole fanfic on Linda xD Anne, yeah I feel she has a motivation: Get back to normal and be used to everything. After that, she can then become a vet and stuff.
I think that the reason why they haven't continued with the story yet is because they don't know how to continue properly. Anne's rescue was something that was hyped up for a VERY long time and was partially treated as a climax. Now that this is over, they probably are avoiding making a new quest. I feel like the quest with Catherine's memories would've been an amazing side-story quest, that serves as something to temporarily spend time on while the main story is "getting ready". So in my view, SSO are avoiding continueing the main story due to lack of proper ideas.
By the way, if you haven't already, can you make a theory about Old Kings Road Castle? Omg I just can't I need to know what's up with it. (Old kings road castle is a closed off area...)
I second this! It has way to much history thats unknown, why is it abandoned? Was there ever royalty there? And why is it hidden as well as it is? Theres a lot a questions that dont even have an answer
If sso shuts down, I'll be sobbing. This is my childhood and I want to keep going on and on and on.. I hope I only stop playing when the game dies or shuts down and I personally get bored and tired and no longer inlove with the game...

I think that they had a lot in store to show us, but because of all the updating areas (which is A LOT of work), has come in a huge delay (for example; the races, which they promised us in 2016). Besides that, because SSO is a relative small compagnie, they really need the money to go further. I think that's why we got so much horses, but I also rode from people who are playing from the beginning of SSO that it's quite normal for SSO to release horses this much. Maybe, when they have catched up to that delay, released new areas will be bigger, and wednesday updates more interesting (I don't find them not interesting to be honest, but a lot of players said that they don't like the wednesday updates anymore). SSO will also have more time and people able to work on (story) quests, so maybe they will appear more often. "< THIS IS JUST MY THEORY>"
I think this is whats happening rn. I also believe they WILL release more area's and story quests, they are just working hard on updating things they made when they weren't as skilled as now (they are working on the dark riders, a lot of older horses, updated characters, area's). Lately SSO has been releasing more races and bigger things to do (like finding Catherine's memories, soul riding, Farah's workshop, Token). The reason people feel like there isnt as much to do anymore and the old SSO was more interesting is probably because they are growing up. Everything we used to do can we still do now. Its just that people arent that friendly anymore as they used to be in the game. I think they are working hard on making the game more interesting and better. But this is just my opinion.
@@UwU-sq3ze I think you're right indeed. I'm a "grown up", but made my first account in 2016 and stopped playing early 2017. A few months later I made my second and main account, and was way more interested in SSO. But 2017 was also the year when things were more going like they are now, so I don't know about the "old" SSO. I can imagine that when you play from the beginning, SSO can be a little boring right now. I have to say that I can't wait to see the updated dark riders, and I hope they get the same introduction video as the soul riders.

Keep up the good work. Also, I wonder how defeating dark core, or Garnok would be. I'm only level 18, and I have just saved Lisa. I don't know what happens when you save Anne, or Justin, but I also wonder if the soul riders will either get the light ceremony book back, and fight for Jorvik against Dark Core, or will they almost grow full strength with everyone and fight for Jorvik without the light ceremony book? I don't know, but your videos do inspire me, and they do make a lot of sense.
I’ve been playing basically since the beginning, and if little me knew she’d be waiting until well into her teenage years to even come somewhat close to taking down Garnok, she would not have been super happy lol. As of this comment being written (SPOILER August 2022), we have begun the Fort Maria/Vala Witches saga in a way, which definitely seems to have lengthened the story by YEARS knowing how story quests are basically only done twice or three times a year now… I’m excited for the future, but worried we’ll never see the end
I really do hope we get the full Jorvik. Those plains in East Jorvik look perfect for races and championships with a lot of space for the roleplaying community as well.
I'll never stop playing SSO, this game has helped me more ways that I can say. I hope I can live long enough to experience all that's instored. I hope and wish more SSO CZcamsrs will pop up in the future, and focus more on the story than rather just the horses (ik it's a horse game but a lot don't read the dialog and just explore the map) tho that's my personal opinion. Love the game to no ends and hopefully it keeps going for years to come, thank you Eleanor for this wonderful video.
I agree! My childhood was starshine legacy and then I remember when the first trailer for sso came out in the uk I played it, that’s me still playing it but not as much as I have no quests really and it gets boring.
we already met Maya’s parents who said that they moved out and they’re proud of Maya who takes care of their farm alone with her new horse. it’s not that deep
i noticed somthing small on the map. ashland has a small path leading to the rest of the map. ashland finally comes out = maybe at least 1 area thats not on the current map?
I feel like there in a sticky situation because they don't want the story to be over to quickly and for it to end but they can't take it to slowly and loose players. So I think they will be many 'main stories' and for Garnok and the Soul Riders to be one of them. The only flaw is that they would probably need to creat something similiar to 'Starshine Legacy' for each story but it could still work. Defeating Garnok is the first story, then someone IMPORTANT goes missing. The possibilities are endless xx

Even if this storyline “ends” I think it’s highly possible that a new one will be written like Darkcore reforming or something. Though I would like to see this storyline reach its end as I don’t like leaving on cliffhangers and for us to maybe get the full map I think this storyline needs to be wrapped up so we can better explore the new areas

Unless the company would go bankrupt, we would. But the company would probably only close if they were to go bankrupt. As Eleanor said, it takes time and money to keep a game running. So if the company has to end abruptly, the game will have to close too.
Based on the past few updates I feel like we have a decently big update coming soon as recently we have had a few races every week and yet another new horse which sso has said they have a separate team that works on horses. This kind of gives me the feeling that we will have something big soon weather it’s more to wild woods or more soul rider quests? But the recent updates have been a bit lazy we just had the friesians, we got a couple of small race updates in between and now we have another horse coming this Wednesday so surely the sso team is working on something important rn?
If they are smart, they continue the story like a series. Who said Garnok is our last enemy? Like an endboss. I could imagine, they will come up with new enemys. Why not? The world of Jorvik has an neverending potential to creat new mysteries, myths and stuff And btw we still got the problem that Fripp is in coma. Thats another task for us to deal with before we could fight Garnok.
My theory is that it will take like 30 ingame days or more(because our character is there for the summer.) for the game to finish. And we can find out by how many days are already spent by looking at the time quests where you have to wait 1 day for the quest to continue.
On the summer event, Linda says that summer was over and it was time for school again. It might relate to how it was actually the end of summer, but it could also mean that it could be the end of summer in the game. I’m hoping that we get quests at Jorvik high personally.
@@Sophsicated Oh i completly missed the summer event but thanks for telling! I think the events are more like non canon or not important for the main story because the game takes a lot of time to update and stuff.
I personally think, with Anne's rescue being a mini-climax to the story, if the story does end, it'll be either be this year or the next ten. Either the team is confused with how the story is going + new management (Wildwoods is pretty different writing) and they just stop writing story quests and it is unsatisfiyingly concluded, but the game is still going in the form of small events/clubs/ new horses, but no new story quests (life support mode). Or...this is only the beginning and at a slow but steady pace, we eventually defeat Garnock.
Well, I kind of agree, but not. I believe there will come a time, when we reach the end of this section of the story, kind of like the first book in a series. We will believe we have won, but what if there is a power greater than Garnok, then the soul riders will rise again, and it will be a sort of loop.
I kinda have a different opinion on this... I don't like the fact that areas take sooo much to be released. I'm playing since 2013 and I remember they released new areas every year till 2017. Not to mention we also had waaaay more quests released than now (side quests). After 2018, I started drifting away from SSO because they changed the game so much that I don't feel nostalgic at all, and I also don't like it anymore. They keep releasing way too many horses and small, useless updates. For me it's like this is not the SSO I fell in love with. I remember being so hyped everytime when there was an update with my friends (who also quit the game earlier than I did), even for smaller ones, but now, every Wednesday I just scroll down on the "Coming Next Week'' paragraph, and close it disappointingly, not even bothering to check the game out. I stopped being a regular player for them since 2018, and I don't think I will come back unless they start releasing more exciting content besides horses, limited horses, clothes, tack, races, limited races, mini quests with 5 xp...

I asked Sso a few days ago some Questions to the main Quest (I’ve finished it already) and they said that it won’t be fun telling stuff that’s going to happen in the future... Now I don’t know if I should believe it or not what do you think?
Ikr, when I'm 60+ I don't think I'll be playing star stable, so basically we'll never get to see the game fully produced, which makes me sad because I enjoy this game and I really want to see the full map.
I’ve always thought about this, but what if the game did ‘end’ would there be any updates or new horses? Although I’m quite positive that this game won’t end.
The game ends when they run out of resources, and then there will be no more SSO. No updates, no game, no anything, just the memories. If we reach the end of the main story, there will always be more stories to come up with. As long as this game lives, we will get content, but when it dies, it's over.
if the story carries on for years, theres no hope for the new players to catch up. also, theres this really cool game called 'sky', the story is so simple and everything is beautiful. i recommend playing :]
I imagine if we get the whole map there would be a part mabye a portal to Pandoria explodes or something to where a area is exposed to it and changes every few months or so so while the map is whole and done creating new areas will not be over or draining so we can look forward to the way the area will look next along with areas such as the winter village and the Halloween area they can make themed temporary areas or just areas off map that we could teleport to like dark cores headquarters and mabye we go home at one point like to where we lived before coming to Jorvik and as some box’s have been getting homes getting to go in all npcs homes places like the manor in silver glade would be a large area and Jorvik city if they keep with how we have to ride the bus everywhere then it Dosenr matter exactly how big every location is since they wouldn’t have to fit the puzzle of the map so they could make all of the city just as big as where we can run in Jorvik when you add all the areas together so expanding areas to include new things is possible I think even sith the whole map they have plenty to be able to expand without having to change the map hope you can understand what I just wrote it is like four am for me right now :)
Hey Eleanor I haven’t watched the whole video but I have a theorie: if you look on the map in the upper left corner you can see an octopus looking thing like garnok and that area has not been released also there is a lochnesse monster but they could both be decor

I think they should play it in seasons. This season should end with the main story realizing the MC is the long lost soul rider. Then the next season can start on Garnok and everything. I feel like the long lost soul rider thing has been dragged out for so long.
I was 18 when it came out and I’m 28 now. Well, 29 in a few weeks. I stopped playing for a few years cause I never could afford to buy lifetime, but I hope we get some updates that are worth it. I know my account will go to my nieces cause they LOVE to play SSO.
I think the starstable team will work as hard as they can and employ more people to help continue building the game. if we at least unlock south west Jorvik that would be good, but as I'm saying I think starstable is a great game great job StarStable!
So, I have a theory, nothing to do with da video but I just wanna share it :> Here it is: So, my friends and I used to spend a lot of time at a place we called 'the maze' (Its the house ect underneath the stairs in jarl) and we used to go there a lot. One day around 3 of my friends went there. And dome how, my friend randomly appeared in The Gap, randomly, suddenly a strange bat like dog creature appeared, and came out of the gap to the maze, my friends got out of the maze and bat dog began chasing them through jarl. So my main theory is... in the Halloween update you see jarl.. flooded, you also saw dark riders supposedly sacrificing a horse.. I think the only way to free garnok is to sacrifice a soul rider horse.. and many years ago, the dark riders succeeded.. They sacrificed a soul horse and freed garnok. garnok flooded jarl and terrorized jorvik. Luckily though, the soul riders managed to lock him away, in the gap, and kept bat dog there to guard him. And I think in future main quests we may have a quest having to do with bat dog. I dunno if this theory really makes sense and if this whole bat dog thing chasing my friends sounds real. I wasn't there to see bat dog so really i don't know much about it. xD
i feel like sso should work more on new places and our characters than new horses. i love the new horses but we don’t need them as much as we need other things
I think that even if we defeat garnok the story wont end there as I think it will only last a couple of years and then we might train futer soul riders as, if we lock garnok up forever then there will be no need for a sisterhood so...
I agree with most things in this video but the the story quests ending. I bet when we kill Garnok we will find a new threat and it will keep going on and on until the game servers shut down.
They're pretty old games, so I'm sure any laptop nowadays works for that 😊 but generally, if you want to play games on a laptop then you'll probably want one that's a little expensive and built to play games on. That way you prevent lag and can turn the graphics all the way up without issues 😁 you might wanna steer away from mac, cause they're not made to play games on and a lot of games can't be downloaded
The way its looking probably not! They are taking forever and it only seem like star stable only have their eyes on new horses! Horses come out every week now, and to mention i believe we have to see all out Catherine memories to go to the next level which to me is stupid!
I think they'll just stop updating the game beside small bug fixes etc. We'll have a game like the previous Star Stable (just training, participating in championships and having fun). Maybe the end of the main story will be such a huuuge plot twist that we'll need years to fully realize what happened.
I'm not sure if I have said this before but I have the theory that what if ALL the soul riders get captured? (Due to dark core/Mr sands basically all the enimes) since our character's haven't really unlocked our "full power" what if we unlock it then? We must save all the soul riders to save jorvik, or when we are fighting garnok all the soul riders get hurt, then all we have is our starter and ourselves? Many possibilities.

It's very unsatisfying that we'll probably never see the full map but it's like a big security for the game to have. It anything goes bad and people loose interest they can always make and release a new area.

I don’t think the story will ever “end”. I think it’ll take years to destroy garnok and we’re only getting 1 or 2 sets of story quests a year. I think when we do/if we do destroy garnok something will go wrong the first time and that’s because dark core has been tipped off about what we’re doing by a spy on the inside and we’ll have to find out who it is. I will always carry on playing sso as long as it carries on because I love the game and the story is very well written. Never playing again would hurt because I love this game. The good thing is that there isn’t any good competitors to compete for the top spot. There is equestrian the game but I don’t think that will over throw starstable. Releasing new horses is actually a good thing because big CZcamsrs buy star coins to buy the horses. I know that half of this probably doesn’t make sense but oh well .

But tbh, I'm sure, that sso know, if they really would do that, most player will quit playing and also if it will take them too long to release eventually the full map. When I started playing there were so many reasons for me to play sso, I had fun, I had something to do, to explore, I will hear new rumors and theories about new horses and areas and many other things.
But today I don't go online that much. The last time I was online, is about... One month ago. There's nothing left to do, I know all races, all areas, theories, new horses aren't exciting anymore, because i feel like they release new horsebreeds every month. That's boring. I know it's a horse game but if they don't even can do good horses (new friesians, Knabstrupper. They're not the breed they're supposed to be, you can't change my mind) and new areas are... When they finally release a new areas or a new main story quest, it's almost a premiere for the player.
If they go on like now, many people will quit. Also, if they go ahead like now, they will have released all horsebreeds before even half of the map is released. And it would be boring, because... What will happend to the weekly Update? It will getting more bored than it's already is.

I agree! Ive been playing this game since 2012/13 and in those years there was always so much to do. Now? It feels like more about the money (especially this past year and a bit) and not about the magic of Jorvik. I understand they have to make their money to keep going but making more and more horses is really just straight up telling the players "We dont care what you want, its what we want and need that matters" Even though we as the players carry the game. Im done with being treated like a bargain chip by the staff, id like to be listened to and heard out like many other players who simply want to see the game improve, not crash and burn due to greed.
I have recently turned a higher level and there aren’t much quests to do I still have much to do but I have always wondered “will my passion for the game fade away as I get older and finish doing things in the game?” Rn i am really obsessed with the game but it scares me that one day I will barely log on and the game will become boring.
I completely agree with you. I turned level 21 a few days ago, and that was because I did all of my reputation and things. I now have no ways at all to gain XP. They are releasing horses way to quickly and people can’t afford them. I really like it when new areas are released, however I do quickly get bored of them. I only log on for club events, and that’s only for an hour about 5 times a week 😕
I agree, since i'm an editor i only go up to sso to take clips for a video. The updates are boring, and they just make too many horses. A lot of players will quit if they don't bring any new quest in the game what is not about collecting things to get a pet or something. They probably working on something big since the updates are horses or new races. At least i hope.
i quit last month... i just felt like there is literally nothing for me to do, and when they finally release somewhat of a quest, it keeps me busy for like 15 min then i log off. like i just felt like im not going to be paying money every month and have crappy updates. and yeah ill probably pay again when the main story quest is back, but as for now, there is no reason for me to pay and let the biggest update of the month be a new horse.... like can the horse team chill for like two seconds so that the storyline quest team can catch up cause damn...
As someone who has been playing since 2012, I have mixed feelings about the amount of content released ever since. Looking back, it does feel like a lot, but if you think about it further, 8/9 years are a LOT of time and we didn't really make that much progress... I've got a feeling that it's going to take the same amount of time for them to evolve further with the story.

I think the last quest was the light ride back in November 2019. I don't count Catherine's diary and soul riding because they are not essential to continue the main questline.
Well the last story quests were with the Light ride? Which was released like at the autumn (probably October or November) of 2019. Since then, only Catherine Diary and Lisa comming to Starshine ranch quests were released. So... I guess it will take decades to get the full map and end of the main story

I wish that the day Starstable have to shut down (in one way or another) that they make one last quest and that its something big, like telling us that we are Aideen reborn, or maybe that we defeat Garnok (or lose). It would suck to continue playing it for YEARS and then all of sudden everything will end like poff!
At least I''d be hell of an ending if they did that, one last push before they had to shut everything down.

I have a feeling once we finish the main story right now after a bit a new "main story" will pop up, starting a whole new adventure for the fifth soul rider (our character). We have to remember that in the previous games and the books, the four soul riders already went through a big adventure. Now, they're having an even bigger one. Maybe it will be the same case for us.
That might be! I mean, being the fifth soul rider is something different from being a "regular" soul rider, so there might be more adventures for us afterwards. Maybe this time we're the ones asking the soul riders for assistance, if some tasks and missions are especially challenging for us 🤔

But you know the island of Jorvik will really end when we finally get that Avalon face reveal…ok that's a joke but honestly I'd love to see more of the SSO brand bible. I've seen people study the MLP brand bible and it's extremely interesting compared to the logics of the actual show. I agree, SSO won't live forever, everything crashes at some point. Even if SSO lives for a long time, someday it's going to lose too much. Eventually we will reach the "end". The end is truly when SSO goes bankrupt, that's just how it happens. They are dependent on players. As much as I would love to play for all eternity, one day I'll probably not have time, I believe all of us will. No one can see the future-wait-can't Linda see the future? Time to grab her to see the future! No, that wouldn't work she can't see outside the game and she isn't real-right? Okok, getting back on, the game will end soon. I predict sometime in 15 years at the worst. But asking me about CP back in the day I said it would end in 2023 and it came way sooner so there's truly no telling. Making and maintaining a game is a game of time and money. They may never get a true, perfect ending, but one day it will end because of low funds, I have a feeling. Nothing can truly live forever, that includes games. Ok that's it, but really, if the game shuts down without a warning and we don't get Avalon's face reveal, I will be deeply disappointed.

I thought that we could be maybe the fourth dark rider but after the quest with Catherine I know that I was totally wrong ... Ok the only evidence *chrm chrm* that I had were:
•When we where at Golden Hills doing this ride (forgot the name). When it was our turn in the vision there was an appearance of Darko and he showed sth like interest in our magical Powers
•We can travel SAFE and whenever we want to pandoria
•Why did the Dark Rider in Dinovalley followed us?(was there a reason? I forgot)
•At the soulriding, after some stuff that u collect sometimes there are “Quests” and in one of them it was a discussion between Alex, Linda and Rhiannon in which Alex asked If Rihannon told us sth about us and Rihannon replied No and then Alex said that she must tell us this sooner or later( but what...?)
• And last: why did Fripp chose only us to try to get Anne (the first time) why not with Linda or some experience Person ? Why alone?

I think that when we "beat" the game, you will still be able to play just like before. Buy new horses, play side quests, play the holiday events, etc. A lot of us don't really do quests, so it might not change anything to those who don't really do quests. SSO would still want more money, right? So if people beat the game and the game really did end, they would most likely continue the game as if nothing had happened. I definitely agree they'll continue releasing new updates. I don't, however, think new story quests will be released once people actually beat the game.

That most likely not gonna happens! Once the game ends its gone cuz its a online game! Nothing last forever! As much as i would love the idea of playing after the end its just not happening . It cost money and its not cheap

Okay, what are the characters OTHER motivations apart from save jorvik? Lisa: be like her mom and make her proud. Wait..she already did that.. She barely mentions her mother, even though we've seen her perfectly fine with talking about her.

Anne: we don't know, probably to get used to the real world again FOR NOW
alex: Well I was thinking for her to want to avenge Elizabeth but now her death is irrelevant.
So, we have nothing to really have mini, meaningful adventures with the characters, they are too flat.
So now, they're exploring other characters, Catherine, Dark riders etc to stretch the story as much as possible. Instead of exploring the MAIN CHARACTERS.
It'll take a lot of development, resources and events for a new motivation to be born. But that'd probably have to be dark, kids games limit story TBH.
Yeah, sso tangled themselves because of the main characters because they are too boring and flat and my soul drains when we watch them. Replace them, no difference.
Doesn't Anne wanna be a vet? Maybe we help her on the journey to become one? And maybe there's a lot of turbulence with her mother on the way that makes it a challenge? And speaking of which, Alex's family situation may also be something to make a questline out of. Their family is poor and Alex doesn't have the best relationship with her mum, and their dad is out of the picture. But there's always a way to make things better, and it would be nice to wrap up their story in a nice way.
Other than that, I agree that Linda and Lisa don't have a lot of motivations 😅

@@eleanornightwalker The issue with that is if those motivations come up, itd feel off cuz those motivations have been so shoved to the side, it's almost irrelevant due to the characters rarely bringing it up recently. I'll only start buying it if Alex mentions stuff about her family, worrying about it. And I have a whole fanfic on Linda xD
Anne, yeah I feel she has a motivation: Get back to normal and be used to everything. After that, she can then become a vet and stuff.

I think that the reason why they haven't continued with the story yet is because they don't know how to continue properly.
Anne's rescue was something that was hyped up for a VERY long time and was partially treated as a climax. Now that this is over, they probably are avoiding making a new quest. I feel like the quest with Catherine's memories would've been an amazing side-story quest, that serves as something to temporarily spend time on while the main story is "getting ready". So in my view, SSO are avoiding continueing the main story due to lack of proper ideas.
If SSO ever shuts down then they better give us a long, thorough explanation of the whole story so we know how it ends.

I think this is whats happening rn. I also believe they WILL release more area's and story quests, they are just working hard on updating things they made when they weren't as skilled as now (they are working on the dark riders, a lot of older horses, updated characters, area's). Lately SSO has been releasing more races and bigger things to do (like finding Catherine's memories, soul riding, Farah's workshop, Token). The reason people feel like there isnt as much to do anymore and the old SSO was more interesting is probably because they are growing up. Everything we used to do can we still do now. Its just that people arent that friendly anymore as they used to be in the game. I think they are working hard on making the game more interesting and better. But this is just my opinion.
@@UwU-sq3ze I think you're right indeed. I'm a "grown up", but made my first account in 2016 and stopped playing early 2017. A few months later I made my second and main account, and was way more interested in SSO. But 2017 was also the year when things were more going like they are now, so I don't know about the "old" SSO. I can imagine that when you play from the beginning, SSO can be a little boring right now. I have to say that I can't wait to see the updated dark riders, and I hope they get the same introduction video as the soul riders.

I’ve been playing basically since the beginning, and if little me knew she’d be waiting until well into her teenage years to even come somewhat close to taking down Garnok, she would not have been super happy lol. As of this comment being written (SPOILER August 2022), we have begun the Fort Maria/Vala Witches saga in a way, which definitely seems to have lengthened the story by YEARS knowing how story quests are basically only done twice or three times a year now… I’m excited for the future, but worried we’ll never see the end
i started playing at 9/10 and i turn 18 in a few days. if they dont shut down the game id imagine the story will still not be over by the time im 30😭
I really do hope we get the full Jorvik. Those plains in East Jorvik look perfect for races and championships with a lot of space for the roleplaying community as well.
I'll never stop playing SSO, this game has helped me more ways that I can say. I hope I can live long enough to experience all that's instored. I hope and wish more SSO CZcamsrs will pop up in the future, and focus more on the story than rather just the horses (ik it's a horse game but a lot don't read the dialog and just explore the map) tho that's my personal opinion. Love the game to no ends and hopefully it keeps going for years to come, thank you Eleanor for this wonderful video.

I agree! My childhood was starshine legacy and then I remember when the first trailer for sso came out in the uk I played it, that’s me still playing it but not as much as I have no quests really and it gets boring.

I feel like there in a sticky situation because they don't want the story to be over to quickly and for it to end but they can't take it to slowly and loose players. So I think they will be many 'main stories' and for Garnok and the Soul Riders to be one of them. The only flaw is that they would probably need to creat something similiar to 'Starshine Legacy' for each story but it could still work. Defeating Garnok is the first story, then someone IMPORTANT goes missing. The possibilities are endless xx

Even if this storyline “ends” I think it’s highly possible that a new one will be written like Darkcore reforming or something. Though I would like to see this storyline reach its end as I don’t like leaving on cliffhangers and for us to maybe get the full map I think this storyline needs to be wrapped up so we can better explore the new areas

Unless the company would go bankrupt, we would. But the company would probably only close if they were to go bankrupt. As Eleanor said, it takes time and money to keep a game running. So if the company has to end abruptly, the game will have to close too.

Based on the past few updates I feel like we have a decently big update coming soon as recently we have had a few races every week and yet another new horse which sso has said they have a separate team that works on horses. This kind of gives me the feeling that we will have something big soon weather it’s more to wild woods or more soul rider quests? But the recent updates have been a bit lazy we just had the friesians, we got a couple of small race updates in between and now we have another horse coming this Wednesday so surely the sso team is working on something important rn?
If they are smart, they continue the story like a series. Who said Garnok is our last enemy? Like an endboss. I could imagine, they will come up with new enemys. Why not? The world of Jorvik has an neverending potential to creat new mysteries, myths and stuff
And btw we still got the problem that Fripp is in coma. Thats another task for us to deal with before we could fight Garnok.
My theory is that it will take like 30 ingame days or more(because our character is there for the summer.) for the game to finish. And we can find out by how many days are already spent by looking at the time quests where you have to wait 1 day for the quest to continue.
On the summer event, Linda says that summer was over and it was time for school again. It might relate to how it was actually the end of summer, but it could also mean that it could be the end of summer in the game. I’m hoping that we get quests at Jorvik high personally.
@@Sophsicated Oh i completly missed the summer event but thanks for telling! I think the events are more like non canon or not important for the main story because the game takes a lot of time to update and stuff.
I personally think, with Anne's rescue being a mini-climax to the story, if the story does end, it'll be either be this year or the next ten. Either the team is confused with how the story is going + new management (Wildwoods is pretty different writing) and they just stop writing story quests and it is unsatisfiyingly concluded, but the game is still going in the form of small events/clubs/ new horses, but no new story quests (life support mode).
Or...this is only the beginning and at a slow but steady pace, we eventually defeat Garnock.
Well, I kind of agree, but not. I believe there will come a time, when we reach the end of this section of the story, kind of like the first book in a series. We will believe we have won, but what if there is a power greater than Garnok, then the soul riders will rise again, and it will be a sort of loop.
I kinda have a different opinion on this... I don't like the fact that areas take sooo much to be released. I'm playing since 2013 and I remember they released new areas every year till 2017. Not to mention we also had waaaay more quests released than now (side quests). After 2018, I started drifting away from SSO because they changed the game so much that I don't feel nostalgic at all, and I also don't like it anymore. They keep releasing way too many horses and small, useless updates. For me it's like this is not the SSO I fell in love with. I remember being so hyped everytime when there was an update with my friends (who also quit the game earlier than I did), even for smaller ones, but now, every Wednesday I just scroll down on the "Coming Next Week'' paragraph, and close it disappointingly, not even bothering to check the game out. I stopped being a regular player for them since 2018, and I don't think I will come back unless they start releasing more exciting content besides horses, limited horses, clothes, tack, races, limited races, mini quests with 5 xp...

Her attitude and 'fear' of cats, and her connection to G.E.D, and her enemy, Herman and the Soul Riders have a backstory. Since we do a lot of work with her I think she would be an interesting story or video topic. Herman & Mrs Drake might have met in childhood, because I'd reckon Mrs Drake is older than what she says she is.

Ikr, when I'm 60+ I don't think I'll be playing star stable, so basically we'll never get to see the game fully produced, which makes me sad because I enjoy this game and I really want to see the full map.
I’ve always thought about this, but what if the game did ‘end’ would there be any updates or new horses? Although I’m quite positive that this game won’t end.
The game ends when they run out of resources, and then there will be no more SSO. No updates, no game, no anything, just the memories. If we reach the end of the main story, there will always be more stories to come up with. As long as this game lives, we will get content, but when it dies, it's over.
if the story carries on for years, theres no hope for the new players to catch up. also, theres this really cool game called 'sky', the story is so simple and everything is beautiful. i recommend playing :]

I imagine if we get the whole map there would be a part mabye a portal to Pandoria explodes or something to where a area is exposed to it and changes every few months or so so while the map is whole and done creating new areas will not be over or draining so we can look forward to the way the area will look next along with areas such as the winter village and the Halloween area they can make themed temporary areas or just areas off map that we could teleport to like dark cores headquarters and mabye we go home at one point like to where we lived before coming to Jorvik and as some box’s have been getting homes getting to go in all npcs homes places like the manor in silver glade would be a large area and Jorvik city if they keep with how we have to ride the bus everywhere then it Dosenr matter exactly how big every location is since they wouldn’t have to fit the puzzle of the map so they could make all of the city just as big as where we can run in Jorvik when you add all the areas together so expanding areas to include new things is possible I think even sith the whole map they have plenty to be able to expand without having to change the map hope you can understand what I just wrote it is like four am for me right now :)
Hey Eleanor I haven’t watched the whole video but I have a theorie: if you look on the map in the upper left corner you can see an octopus looking thing like garnok and that area has not been released also there is a lochnesse monster but they could both be decor

I think they should play it in seasons. This season should end with the main story realizing the MC is the long lost soul rider. Then the next season can start on Garnok and everything. I feel like the long lost soul rider thing has been dragged out for so long.

I stopped playing for a few years cause I never could afford to buy lifetime, but I hope we get some updates that are worth it.

I think the starstable team will work as hard as they can and employ more people to help continue building the game. if we at least unlock south west Jorvik that would be good, but as I'm saying I think starstable is a great game great job StarStable!

So, I have a theory, nothing to do with da video but I just wanna share it :> Here it is:
So, my friends and I used to spend a lot of time at a place we called 'the maze' (Its the house ect underneath the stairs in jarl) and we used to go there a lot. One day around 3 of my friends went there. And dome how, my friend randomly appeared in The Gap, randomly, suddenly a strange bat like dog creature appeared, and came out of the gap to the maze, my friends got out of the maze and bat dog began chasing them through jarl. So my main theory is... in the Halloween update you see jarl.. flooded, you also saw dark riders supposedly sacrificing a horse.. I think the only way to free garnok is to sacrifice a soul rider horse.. and many years ago, the dark riders succeeded.. They sacrificed a soul horse and freed garnok. garnok flooded jarl and terrorized jorvik. Luckily though, the soul riders managed to lock him away, in the gap, and kept bat dog there to guard him. And I think in future main quests we may have a quest having to do with bat dog.
I dunno if this theory really makes sense and if this whole bat dog thing chasing my friends sounds real. I wasn't there to see bat dog so really i don't know much about it. xD
i feel like sso should work more on new places and our characters than new horses. i love the new horses but we don’t need them as much as we need other things

I think that even if we defeat garnok the story wont end there as I think it will only last a couple of years and then we might train futer soul riders as, if we lock garnok up forever then there will be no need for a sisterhood so...
I agree with most things in this video but the the story quests ending. I bet when we kill Garnok we will find a new threat and it will keep going on and on until the game servers shut down.

They're pretty old games, so I'm sure any laptop nowadays works for that 😊 but generally, if you want to play games on a laptop then you'll probably want one that's a little expensive and built to play games on. That way you prevent lag and can turn the graphics all the way up without issues 😁 you might wanna steer away from mac, cause they're not made to play games on and a lot of games can't be downloaded

The way its looking probably not! They are taking forever and it only seem like star stable only have their eyes on new horses! Horses come out every week now, and to mention i believe we have to see all out Catherine memories to go to the next level which to me is stupid!

I think they'll just stop updating the game beside small bug fixes etc. We'll have a game like the previous Star Stable (just training, participating in championships and having fun). Maybe the end of the main story will be such a huuuge plot twist that we'll need years to fully realize what happened.

I'm not sure if I have said this before but I have the theory that what if ALL the soul riders get captured? (Due to dark core/Mr sands basically all the enimes) since our character's haven't really unlocked our "full power" what if we unlock it then? We must save all the soul riders to save jorvik, or when we are fighting garnok all the soul riders get hurt, then all we have is our starter and ourselves? Many possibilities.
I think you will have to of finished Druid training and that is your training. Then we go in battle x
