    Hi Leanne
    My name is June Peckham and I am the Chair of the Newfoundland Horticultural Floral Design Group. I have been watching your videos and have learned a lot so Thank You for sharing them. On Feb 20 we are having our monthly meeting and are Demonstrating the Colour Wheel and how it relates to Floral design. I have watched your videos on this and will be referring our members to the Flower School website and all the fabulous videos I have found there. I am sure they will find them very enjoyable and useful as I have. In March we are doing :"Circling the Bowl" where we will be doing the workshop with Tulips. Thanks for the helpful video I just watched on care and handling of tulips.Just bought some a few days ago and amazing how quick they open even after a few hours.. If you ever come to NL for a holiday look me up. Thanks again and look forward to many more videos in the future

    Yes. I suggest a hand-tied bouquet designed so that the flower stems are in water until just prior to the wedding. I also suggest that you wire the Gerbera stems in a bridal bouquet.

    • @FlowerSchool
      @FlowerSchool  Před 10 měsíci

      That's an interesting question, Jackie! It's a bit challenging to answer without seeing the flowers themselves. We can offer a couple of ideas for rustic wedding centerpieces that could possibly be adapted for your flower choices. Here is the first one: czcams.com/video/Z7_2LD77ja0/video.html Here is another one: czcams.com/video/9IPe16armsU/video.html We also have a playlist on Wedding Floral Design that might be helpful too: czcams.com/play/PLJbJF6YZAYyLCDsNnIt_fEVkM4nDoGLFM.html You can scan the videos and see if there is a style that appeals to you. The last suggestion is a Live that was really geared towards prom floral design, but in the first part of the video Teacher Michelle creates a beautiful hand tied bouquet that adds yellow Gerbera daisies. Here it is: czcams.com/video/3r1YINVj6Zc/video.html We hope these suggestions will help you decide what to use for your floral design. Thank you for reaching out to us and we wish you the very best with your celebration!

    What was the solution you dipped them in?

    • @FlowerSchool
      @FlowerSchool  Před 2 lety +1

      That's an excellent question, DaisyMae! Leanne dipped her Gerbera daisies in Quick Dip, which is a hydrating solution that helps the flowers drink more water to be fresh and beautiful. We have it available on our website here: www.floraldesigninstitute.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_17&products_id=213 Thank you very much for watching our show and for sharing the magic of floral design. We are delighted to host you and hope that we'll see you again soon. Wishing you all the best and please have a lovely week. P.S. If you are interested in learning more about Gerbera daisies, you might enjoy this recent video too: czcams.com/video/l5iWSQPhUak/video.html Thanks for being here with us!

    I have a question I am making bridal bouquets. Do I need to wire them How do I use them for button holes for men Thank you

    • @FlowerSchool
      @FlowerSchool  Před 3 lety +1

      Those are excellent questions, Mervyn! Once upon a time all bridal bouquets were taped and wired, but that has changed. There are many ways to create bridal bouquets including hand-tied, using a bouquet holder with foam, or adding floral netting. We have an entire playlist devoted to wedding bouquets that you can find here: czcams.com/play/PLJbJF6YZAYyKWqasrnMh9HPsmWZ0cSYxy.html The type you choose really depends on what the wedding couple wants. Your second question is intriguing, and Leanne just shared a video about Easy No-Pin Boutonnieres which you can find in our Flowers to Wear playlist here: czcams.com/play/PLJbJF6YZAYyJR_kKJA8x2l0lPTTwg30My.html We hope these shows will help you create the perfect pieces for the wedding celebration. Thank you so much for taking time to join us today and we hope to see you again soon. Best wishes for a wonderful week!

    Hi there, question. Do you happen to have any videos on step by step on how to preserve Gerbera flowers using silica gel? I have read the instructions but seeing them is easier to understand! or do you know anyone who does videos for that?
    Thank You!!

So sorry but we are not familiar with silica gel preservation techniques, but hopefully you will be able to find something about it on-line. Thank you for watching our show, and we look forward to having you join us again soon when you find some time. All the best to you!

    hi .what are the criteria for gerbera quality beside long stalk.

    • @FlowerSchool
      @FlowerSchool  Před 4 lety

      That's an interesting question, Mohammad! You want the flowers to look fresh and stand upright with no droop in their stems. Quick Dip also helps keep them to hydrate and drink plenty of water. Thanks so much for taking the time to watch our show, and we hope you will join us again for more fabulous floral tips with Leanne!

      You can always experiment with them and see if it works for you, GeeSee! Testing it with seeds you already have is the best way to see if it works. Thank you very much for watching our show, and we hope to see you again very soon for more fun with flowers!

    Hello... I wanted to ask, why do you cut the stems underwater?

    • @FlowerSchool
      @FlowerSchool  Před 4 lety

      Thanks for watching out show. The stem is cut underwater to keep air from entering the stem and to keep the stem from drying out.

      Yes. I suggest a hand-tied bouquet designed so that the flower stems are in water until just prior to the wedding. I also suggest that you wire the Gerbera stems in a bridal bouquet.
