I have the 10877's. I wanted the 877's and the local RW store had none. The manager explained the color differences and said that the 10877's were in stock. 877's vs 10877's: same quality, made by the same people on the same production lines. You would not be able to tell the difference unless they were side by side. Yes it take a while to break in but once they are broken in they are very comfortable. You will learn to use and appreciate the finger loop in the back.

The eyelets of the 10877 are brass for sure.
    Besides a pair of 10877 from 2007 (was 877 then) I own Iron Rangers 8111, 8113 and 8114.
I don’t like the 877 as a workboot at all. The wedge soles wear off rapidly and it feels like walking on pillows. I had mine resoled twice over a span of 15 years.
The Iron Rangers are far more sturdy and versatile. It’s almost impossible to ruin them working in the woods, the garage or during offroad voyages.
Wearing them daily in all circumstances they’re not in need for new soles after 10 to 12 years. Just keeping them oiled and waxed.
Ankle support is superb by Iron Rangers.
